GetchX posted a message on Venture into the Wild is this Week's Tavern Brawl!Posted in: NewsFor those who are complaining about the decks, do consider the fact that they had to get nine decks that were more or less balanced. I do agree they are pretty disappointing, but for those who wanted crazier decks like avianna/malygos druid, or justicar control warrior, or some funky ancestral spirit shaman, it would be real difficult to get them balanced. Also, the decks have to be relatively simple to play, since people new to the game (who make up the majority of those who play brawls) won’t know how to play out grim patron warrior, for instance.

I did have 1 x evolving spore as well, so no wonder I was drawing too many buffs and not enough 1 drops. ha ha. -

NEVER KEEP it in your opening hand. usually you will have 1-2 taunt on the board before you use Strongshell Scavenger. If you don't have any taunt and you drew Strongshell Scavenger, then wait until you get Saronite Chain Gang. Try to play Strongshell Scavenger on at least 2 taunts. There are multiple occasions when I have won games using this card! This is a very useful card if you have a lot of taunts in your opening hand. Even a buff on Druid of the Swarm can be very powerful, specially against aggro decks. It's one of the most important card to keep in this deck since this deck revolves around taunt minions.
thanks. I am currently just running one in my deck as still playing around with what is optimal. I have 2 crazed alchemists at the moment though, as I run into a lot of doomsayers, and also the lethal potential from using the battlecry on cryptlord is cool. I have not got to that point yet as usually win before then, but I can imagine it will come in useful.
If I feel I could do with 2 stronghsells though, will add the 2nd one.
PS: I seen a deck that runs taunts, but has the the evolve card in it (I forget it's name) I seen a guy playing the deck and it seemed to work out well, especially if you get wind fury for lethal ... I guess there are a lot of tools that can be used in this deck archtype. I have all of them as well so can tech for anything. You should always try new stuff! if you find anything awesome for this deck feel free to share! if you encounter a lot of quest mage, you can add another Crazed Alchemist or Soul of the Forest and remove the Dire Wolf Alpha. I Think that Strongshell Scavenger is a must have in this deck due to its buffing potential, but if you find it rather useful to remove one, feel free to do so.I do think it's very useful, it's just that sometimes you may be forced to play the card without getting the buff. I have not played enough games to really know though. I auto include 2 crazed alchemists anyway, 1 for doomsayer and 1 for possible finisher with crypt lord.
I had been toying with adding archerus veteran as well for extra 1 drops. the problem I have ran into most is not being able to play anything on turns one and two, and I feel adding extra low cost cards could be highly beneficial.
also tech'ing the other crab that eats murlocs could be a good idea (1 golakka and one of the other ones) as I'm facing a lot of murloc pally right now as well. I think the other card is an epic though, and I dusted the one I had, so not too hot on rafting another right now really.
you tried out the bittertide's as well? I have 1, so had been using it, but I'm not sure if it's really optimal. I mean a big minion on turn 5 is great.
a good alternative is sea giant. I personally run 2x sea giant in my current zoo deck and they win me more games than I can remember. No one is expecting them right now. Those ice elemental 1 drops that freeze a minion are really good as well, they might be able to find a home here, freezing a possible threat for one turn. the other one I was thinking of was the card that gives immunity for one turn, allowing a trade without loosing health. sorry I forget what it's called as well.... a lot of possible options. -

I think you should try something like this:
-2 Far Sight
+2Acolyte of Pain
because, you're really getting nothing with Far Sight but draw 1 card, the reduction is almost not required because:
- you're reducing the cost of Electra Stormsurge using Murmuring Elemental and Fire Plume Harbinger.
- most removals and other cards can be played on the turn they are required, and since we don't have enough minions to follow up, it's almost not required to reduce the cost of the spells.
- Acolyte of Pain is going to draw you more than 1 card, especially with Volcano.
-2 Doomsayer
+2 Wild Pyromancer
Wild Pyromancer is more useful in this deck than Doomsayer. Due to mech decks, there will be a lot of players who will run silence effects, and your Doomsayer will become a victim of it. Wild Pyromancer can be a good combo with Lightning Storm, Hex, and Acolyte of Pain. And it has good stats for early game.
-1 Hagatha the Witch
+1 Storm Chaser
Hagatha the Witch isn't doing a lot in this deck. Also, if you're going to run Acolyte of Pain than you'll have a lot of cards in your hand due to card draw, Hagatha the Witch may mill one of your important card. Storm Chaser can help you find your Volcano and your Eureka!. In fact, you can even cut 1 Eureka! to add another copy of Storm Chaser to make your combo more consistent, you're only going to use 1 Eureka! for the OTK anyways, so why not cut one to make sure that you draw the other one more consistently. However, if you don't cut 1 Eureka! for the other Storm Chaser than it's fine as well, because it's the same thing TBH, if you draw Storm Chaser than it'll draw your Eureka!, or you simply draw your Eureka! instead.
Upvote for the deck! These are my thoughts on your deck, hope you like it.

I used Frostbolt on my Gurubashi Berserker thinking I had lethal, but then it froze and I had to concede out of shame.

So basically what you're saying is that make a basic deck. But why ?

Nice deck! unfortunately I don't have Genn and Hagatha so I cannot try this deck :(. I loved the concept. Also, a word of advise, you will find a lot of Warlock at higher ranks, why don't you try replacing the defender with spellbreaker? It will also help in other match-ups to deal with large taunts and push some extra damage to face.

For some weird reason, this card gives me pre nerf corridor creeper vibes. IT'S GONNA BE BROKEN AF.

I wonder how this card will interact with Obsidian Statue. it has both lifesteal and deathrattle.

I'm happy that Oracle is rotating out. But at the same time, knowing that Divine Favor is not, makes me sad.
