Just another post complaining about BM because I don't understand it.

Had a very close game against a Hunter. They had lethal next turn and I had no way out, so of course I'm met with a "Greetings, traveler." I say "Well played" and pass, allowing them to perhaps work on a quest or something before they finish me off. Instead, another "Greetings, traveler" with some King Krush BM on top. The game was over. I was trying to be friendly about it. The only purpose that sort of BM even serves is to announce to the other player that you're kind of shitty or, at least, that you conduct yourself in a way that would lead one to believe that's the case. It really does baffle me.

Not a whole lot to say, but I just had a mirror match that was quite close and we both well played each other. That was nice. I wish it happened more often.

posted a message on Most and least favorite classes poll

Warlock is my favourite simply because it's themed around demons and such and I'm all about that. Also, the hero power is great. Mage used to be one of my favourites, but that was a long time ago and now it's probably my least favourite. The face-only style of "Tempo" Mage decks lately is so disappointing. I've also never liked Freeze Mage or Jaina's personality in general. She just rubs me the wrong way.

So this didn't happen to me, but I just watched Kolento queue into the same golden Zoolock four times in a row and they had Prince Keleseth in their opening for the latter three. I was definitely experiencing some second-hand salt from that. Needless to say, the Zoolock easily won each time while also BMing a bit. Absolutely disgusting.

I encountered one of those Kingsbane Mill Rouges I've heard so much about in Wild earlier at rank 24 while playing my dumb C'Thun/Geosculptor Yip Warrior deck. I won while still having quite a bit of health left. That was pretty nice.

posted a message on What keeps you in the game?

What keeps me in the game? Simply put, I'm atrociously terrible at giving things up. Once I get into even a slight habit, it's very difficult for me to stop entirely. I've barely played this game for a long time now, but I keep coming back just to do the busywork of quests and brawls and the PvE stuff. There are several other games where this is the case as well. It's horrible, but that's apparently how my brain works. I must be waiting for some golden age to dawn in which this game is actually fun and well-designed or something.

posted a message on How many games do you play per season?

Enough to get a decent amount of daily quests done, so not very many at all, but I barely play this game and rarely enjoy it much, so yeah.

Can be pretty fun if you're willing to slog through all the easy netdecks, and it's good for quests, but it definitely wears on you fast.

Can all these standard cubelocks in wild just fuck off please? I'm trying to avoid standard decks here.

Funny you should say that. I just queued into a rank 25 Wild game with an armor/C'Thun Warrior deck I like to play in order to finish a quest and, naturally, my opponent was a golden Cubelock, complete with Spiritsinger Umbra and Rin, the First Disciple. My first Wild game in a while too. I happened to defeat them very easily thanks to Geosculptor Yip and them cheating out a Doomguard instead of a Voidlord, but just seeing a Standard Cubelock in Wild, let alone at rank 25, is rather disgusting.

The fact that the Monster Hunt quests require 10 wins bothers me. Yeah, I know it's really only a problem if you complete a run on your first try and this probably comes across as a humblebrag, but seriously . . . why isn't it 8 wins? Why, if you do finish a run on the first go, do you then have to start a new run with the same character just for 2 more wins instead of trying a new character? It's like they want to punish you for playing well/getting lucky. It seems counter-intuitive to me and just plain annoying because it feels bad to end a fresh run after you get those 2 final wins or to reluctantly finish it when you'd rather be trying a new character. I don't get it.

I like how you're punished for playing control against paladin because of divine favor. Clear everything? Nope, DF and back to puking minions onto the board.

Yeah, Divine Favor is one of the most ridiculous cards I can think of, honestly. They probably didn't have it in mind during design, but it rewards aggro players to an absolutely absurd degree, turning one of of their biggest weaknesses into a crazy advantage instead. Like, did the possibility of control match-ups not even occur to them? It's hard for me to believe the people in charge of design can be that incompetent. It's either that or they intentionally wanted to push aggro and stifle control. Either way, it's terrible.

posted a message on 50Min Game because of Opponent Roping every turn

People are scummy. They will take advantage of any situation that allows them to be even slightly scummy and use flimsy mental gymnastics to justify their sad behaviour. This will always be the case. I recommend multitasking a bit while playing Hearthstone, such as also playing a handheld game that you can easily pause. That's what I sometimes do. Hearthstone doesn't typically require all that much attention anyway.

In a dungeon run, Candlebeard obtained Mayor Noggenfogger (I forgot how) and that single-handedly cost me the game, as most of my RNG was awful and most of his was pretty good.

In the following dungeon run, King Togwaggle spammed multiple Portable Ice Walls and whenever I'd damage them a good amount, he'd just Vanish and play them again. Fun.

Even when I manage to encounter non-meta decks in casual mode, the players still spam thank yous and threatens. I wish I could understand this mentality, but it's just not meant to be.
