The fact that Maiev locks minions in the tavern and hinders re-rolls pretty much ruins it. It can make using the hero power actively bad. Maybe there are fringe scenarios where you can turbo level and use the spare mana to hero power and stabilize on key turns, but that seems pretty difficult to pull off.
Lady Vashj just seems terrible. You can't even freeze for a triple next turn and then level, because you refresh the minions. If they fixed it so freeze still worked and ALL the minions from the hero power were from the next level, it might be playable. Now it seems like one of the worst heroes.
It kind kind of pisses me off, because it looks like they were willing to accept the class being completely broken if it got people excited to play it. That's really NOT how you create an enjoyable playing experience for most players.
Did Blizzard actually play test Demon Hunter? They obviously overshot the power level by a ridiculous amount. I really hope these nerfs will bring it in line, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up needing a third nerf.
Priest is barely tier 2. Lots of ways to counter it. Highlander Galakrond Rogue can outvalue it pretty consistently. Any controlling Shaman or Mage with Hex or Polymorf can too.
I feel like they should look at both Ancharrr and Hoard Pillager. Compared to Lightforged ZealotHoard Pillager has a similarly powerful effect but with a much easier condition. The pirate tag itself is also a plus and the interaction with Ancharrr] is insane.
It seems kind of sloppy that they didn't word it better. From reading the text you'd think it was 2 random cards and one that's in your opponents hand. That would obviously make it strictly better than Glimmerroot, but that wouldn't be too surprising considering the power level of this expansion. It's not exactly like thief priest is dominating the meta or anything.
I feel kind of similarly about Murozond the Infinite How is anybody supposed to know that it doesn't trigger battlecries? Seems like a pretty relevant thing to mention on the card.
Thanks a lot! This is the most fun deck I've played in a while. I subbed out Cloning Device and Mind Vision for a Doomsayer + Bone Wraith to help out vs aggro and Galakrond Warrior.
The adventure will most likely be bought with gold, so I'd just craft some cards and have some fun. When the rotation happens you can disenchant the cards moving to wild for more dust.
This is probably not something they planned on doing, but had to because the meta was so unbalanced.
There's a very good chance that we'll see another balance patch sometime in january once the meta has settled again.
The one thing I'm surprised about is that they didn't change Faceless Corruptor more. It's still super OP at 4/4 and the wording on it is identical to Saronite Chain Gang which means you can get infinite Shudderwocks. They changed Chain Gang because of that interaction, so how this card got made is a mystery to me. We're probably very likely to see another nerf of the card down the line.
I'm really surprised they didn't change the wording on Faceless Corrupter. As it is now you can get infinite Shudderwock chains with that and Barista/Bog Slosher. This was the whole reason they changed [card]Saronite Chain Gang[card]. Now they just printed a new card that does the same but is an even more powerful tempo play.
So even if Galakrond Shaman falls off there's a good change we could see another Infinite Shudderwock deck. Possibly built around the quest, which is already very strong.
Am I the only one thinking that Faceless Corruptor is stupidly OP and likely a mistake? It's close to a post-quest Oasis Surger With the only precondition being having a disposable minion on board, which most tempo/aggro decks can very easily achieve.
It's a 2 of in the vast majority of the decks we've seen so far, which seems like a gross over-representation.
Edit: As someone pointed out, Bonemare is probably a more obvious comparison. Faceless Corruptor on a 1/1 is a +4/+3 buff with a 5/4 body. That's 2 less health than Bonemare, but it's 2 less mana than a pre-nerf Bonemare and the played body has rush too.

DH is probably still the strongest all-round class but it doesn't feel quite as overpowering as it used to.
The main problem is, that because it's such a strong aggro/tempo deck, it severely limits the types of decks that are viable in the meta.

The fact that Demon Hunter's hero power costs 1 makes a huge difference though. Battlefiend might still be playable as a 1/2

I agree 100% and I'm honestly surprised the card got through balance testing and even more surprised that they didn't change it more.
I think there's a very good chance the card will get nerfed again. Whether it's for the Shudderwock interaction, the insane power level or both.

The main reason Shaman's winrate has been dropping is because the players NOT playing Shaman are actively trying to counter it.
