I like this card though :'(

Thoughtsteal is trading 1 card for 1 card that is weaker than another card you could've put in your deck and a 2nd card.

This card gives you twice as many extra cards, so you're essentially gaining 1 mana and 1 card slot advantage.

But it's pretty significant that you you are gaining 2 cards for this.  With thoughtsteal you are gaining one card, and the first card is probably less good than a card you could have put in your deck.

IMO it's much better when you gain 2 cards.  That's twice as much gain.  For just one Devour Mind you would have to draw 2 thoughtsteals.  The fact that you don't need to draw them both is significant.

I beg to differ.  In a control Matchup the cards you get will be control cards and big minions.  Cabalist's tome is much more random.

You obviously don't play either of these cards much in an aggro matchup, so you only really compare them against control.  And I'd rather take 3 control cards from my opponent's deck than 3 random mage spells.

Edit:  The class they are in also helps.  Priest is more value centered than mage as well.

Yeah I've been considering that.  In a priest mirror match this could be incredible.  Against other decks, however, it is important to value quality over quantity.  In general it is better to beat the opponent BEFORE fatigue sets in.

Even vs another priest player it comes to a 50/50 to who draws and plays this card first.  I'd rather simply beat them by out controlling the board against them and not worry about fatigue.

And yes, drawing would be pretty important with this card.  The question is.. How do we intend to get that much cycle?

The new aoe lifesteal card with northshire/acolyte of pain/circle of healing could create this cycle, but this deck is sounding like a 1tk deck, which doesn't need the extra cards as it already has its finishing combo.

I suppose a potential way to use this is as a finisher.

Play a 1tk priest deck.  Use the 4 cost revive card to get your malygos/Prophet Valen back and then try to 1tk them.  If it doesn't work then play this card and also have a lategame.

Maybe that's where it has most potential?

I'm nearly an exclusively priest player and I love to steal opponent's cards and minions.

With that in mind, this is the first priest legendary I've been sad to see.

I like to steal cards into my hand, I love to steal minions and I love to shuffle KEY cards into my deck...

But to shuffle every card into my deck?? I don't want your lame cards too >.>. I can do without shield slams and weapon buffs and their whole deck.....

    Sad day.

I'm playing it in my reno priest ^_^  It is actually really useful.  I play it in one of several situations:

    1) I play it when I have a board and want to play a big threat next turn.  Noggenfogger protects my big threat the next turn so that it stays on board (Namely Confessor Paletress or Ysera in my deck)

    2) It saves you from aggro.  If I have a board and I'm being threatened by aggro I play Noggenfogger to stop them from being able to hit my face.  Any kill-commands they may have could kill their own minions and their minions may kill themselves on my healthier minions.

    3) If I'm facing Freeze mage and I've cleared both doomsayers and don't think they have flamestrikes I play noggenfogger to prevent them from being able to lethal me with burn.  If they cannot clear the board, then they are effectively useless as the spells go flying.

Ultimately Noggenfogger is very strong if you meet the following condition: You have a board that is stronger than theirs.

Ahh yes.  We have a lot to learn about how it applies.  Still, freeze mage uses burns so it always has at least 3 options when it's on the board.  And you USUALLY have a lot of minions, so I see it as potentially winning games vs freeze mage

Thanks!  Any changes you'd recommend?  And yeah I don't mind slow as much in the upcoming meta because I don't see aggro as being a major issue in this expansion!

Basically.. With the aggro cards nerfed aggro isn't as bad as it used to be.  Lightbomb, sludgebelcher, excavated evil, auchenai + circle, pain, doomsayer are all fantastic vs aggro.  As it stands I don't like his deck but I understand how it can handle aggro.  My deck is much better imo though.

You know I actually think this is a good card.  Resurrect can't be used as a turn 2 play when playing priest.. But when comboed with cards after you've lost an injured blademaster it summons 4/7's.  It is an incredibly EFFICIENT card even if not 100% reliable.

Priest is notorious for not playing much in the early game.  A doomsayer/shadow word pain may be all that is used.  When you play it turn 5 after you've played potentially an injured blademaster turn 3 and a shifting shade or elise starseeker or something along those lines turn 4.. You've suddenly got GREAT value with this card turn 5 most likely.

And under the situation where you top-deck this late game the value has most likely increased greatly.  Suddenly you could be getting 5 mana yseras and ragnaros's.

This card is good.  All you have to do is survive(easier said than done).

Oh btw!  Ysera is a perfectly fine(arguably better) replacement for Confessor Paletress as it adds the dragon tag, making your other dragon cards more reliable ^_^  Paletress demands immediate removal and allows you to heal, though, while Ysera doesn't demand immediate removal and doesn't allow you to heal - thus I prefer Paletress over Ysera.
