I'm so sick of Tickatus. I don't care if it's "good" card or not, I'm tired of not being able to play Old Gods and other cool combos because of this card exists

TwistedCardmaster posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionCthun is a perfect win condition for control decks, but they can’t run him because of control lock. Your advice is pretty lame. You’re telling people to just play a different deck, as if that “solution” isn’t indicative of the problem everyone is complaining about.
So, it's fair when you run C'thun against me and I can't do anything about it, just wait until you draw your entire deck and nuke my face with 30 damage, but it's also unfair when I run card, that MIGHT (it's not guaranteed though) disrupt your plan and let me win otherwise unwinnable matchup?

Assassinations posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionDisruption is fine. Giving one class, and one class only, the ability to burn a third of the opponent's deck is not fine. Bringing Dirty Rat back could help a bit (Vol'jin does not help due to the legendary status -> one copy only, and due to the fact that even if you manage to pull Tickatus from the hand, there is suddenly an 8/8 on the board and you have just spent five mana to pull it out and don't have a taunt in the way...).
I love playing control decks, and have been having the worst time ever with them in current HS. There is simply no chance for "honest" control decks from classes such as Priest, Warrior, and Shaman to exist as long as Tickatus is around. And I for one think that it is not only sad, but also bad for the state of the game.
[edit] I was reading some other comments, and had to add this: To those who view Tickatus as an unproblematic card in current Standard, have you tried playing other control decks against it? I mean really? Seeing all of your win conditions being burned away, not only once, but twice? I have, for example, created a home-brew control Shaman deck with Yshaarji returning four corrupted cards to deal 16 damage from hand that actually has a positive win rate against Paladin and Mage. This means I have been able to climb with it this season almost as nicely as I normally do (for me, the most fun in the this game is in creating my own decks). But against Warlock... I have like 10% win rate, and the only reason for this is Tickatus. A single card. If that is not bad design in a card game aiming for diversity of strategies and a resemblance of balance across its many classes, I don't know what is.

Pythonproduct posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionI think Tickatus is not op, but is an unfun card. It's one of the better disruption cards in the game to provide counterplay to uninteractive OTK decks.
I personally would like the game to just not have otk decks and not have disruption (this was once the philosophy of blizz too when they hall of famed Power Overwhelming because taking 20 damage to the face from Leroy Jenkins power overwhelming+faceless was 'unfun and uninteractive')
But since OTK decks are likely not going to get removed, we need disruption cards like Tickatus

ShadowAldrius posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionI think this is less of a question of "is Control Warlock or Tickatus broken" and more "Does Control Warlock have such a dominating winrate over other control decks that it's rendered them completely irrelevant". Which is a recurring problem as it is.
I didn't think Tikatus alone rendered control decks pointless last year, but this year playing Control vs. Warlock just feels like a waste of time. -

fjl93 posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionTickatus should only burn AT MOST 3 cards. It'd still be insane. Nobody watched the GMs? Tickatus won games by itself.
I really think people and a big chunk of the playerbase is quite blind. Nobody even noticed that there are not many control decks REALLY working since past expansion other than Control Warlock? The only other control deck that could be competitive in the previous expansion was Priest, since it didn't needed it's own deck due to the bizarre amount of value it generates.
Tickatus is a HUGE deck building limitation. Just one card (with insane stats and cost) that destroys combo and control decks with insane value generation.
If at least it could be reduced to only 3 cards, or changing Y'shaarj to set the mana of the cards to one until your next turn... That'd be... Fair (not, but it would be a start)

user-23571841 posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionI honestly can't find a reason how a card that wrecks 1/3 of a players deck can be considered healthy and balanced. I can get around the first Tickatus, but a second copy through that damn god is pure shit.

30phillosgamer posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionI don't think Tickatus alone is the Problem. But when you start copying him with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler and you play him again the same turn for 0 Mana YES that's a Problem.
I remember a time when people were crying about Gala Rogue and the 0 Mana card draw .. What happened now no one complains about 0 mana cards after Y'Shaarj, the Defiler is played? Like Strongman , Cascading Disaster and Carnival Clown or even Dunk Tank and Circus Medic

Danjo posted a message on Hearthstone Esports suspends ZalaePosted in: General ChatI'm not understanding the position businesses are taking of terminating employees based on unproven allegations.
Or in this case, kicking a player from the tournament based on unproven allegations.
If he did it, blacklist him from all HS events for life.
Right now we have an allegation. It should be taken seriously, it should be investigated, and the truth should be determined. Hearthstone chose to jump ahead of that and go straight to the punishment phase based on just the allegation.
Think about this for a moment, and personalize it. You've worked hard at something your entire professional career. Now, you are about to get your big shot. An ex girlfriend/boyfriend, ex wife/husband, whatever, suddenly comes out with an allegation of wrongdoing on your part. You are then, with no proof and no chance to defend yourself, completely shut out from the job/career/opportunity that you have pursued for so long and dedicated yourself to. Does that sound fair? Does that sound right?
To me, it absolutely does not.
Give the man his day in court. If he is found guilty, bar him from all events. Strip him of titles if needed. Do not condemn him based on allegations, though. I'm disappointed in Blizzard, and society at large, as we are seeing more and more of these types of things happening.

Playing Control Warrior, I've had moderate success but this is my pet deck and I love to play it when Warrior gets stronger. I can stomach losing to every matchup besides Tickatus decks. And I don't really mind too much about 1 Tickatus, but 2 of them is putting it over the top against practically any slow deck besides some aggro decks or Clown Druid. But I don't have the dust for Clown Druid, and I want to play a deck I want to play instead of trying to counter Tickatus. I'm not saying I don't like aggro, it's a necessary evil it's what keeps everything in balance so I respect their existence. HOWEVER auto losing to one deck all the while not being able to try out the new cards, But they just keep burning away My Rattlegore or just killing it with their insane amount of removal. I don't waste my deck slot on C'thun anymore cuz it's pointless most of the time. Funny thing my opponent today was a Tickaus Warlock with C'thun, the greedy bastard. They get to play C'thun but I don't? Jaraxxus is already salt in the wound, this guy's just rubbing it in. Fuck anyone who sais Tickatus isn't a problem, those are the people that probably never or rarely pick up a control deck and see how it feels.
Edt: Oh yeah currently at rank 9 Diamond and I actually like to play Face Hunter, though only at ranks below Diamond and Rank 5 where Tickatus players are more prevalent. Then I switch to Control, but I still face the odd Tickatus player (such as that C'thun Warlock) and Might as well be doing something else while I'm against them. I usually watch something on Youtube as I'm roping them every turn out of spite.

If people weren't concerned about Control Warlock before the Barrens expansion, they will now. With the most broken removal in the game (Cascading Disaster and Hysteria) and loads of healing Aggro and other aggressive strategies are null. And of course Fuckfacetus destroys the control matchups and combo to boot. Seriously the devs are blind as fuck to not see how broken Control Warlock is, it is the most powerful Control has ever gotten and probably will be until this mess is fixed. You know what's worse than a broken Aggro deck? a broken Control deck that beats practically every archetype besides some Midrange decks.

I was hoping after the nerfs Mages would cease to exist but NOPE like I said if Deck of Lunacy cost 6 mana the deck would still be viable due to Refreshing Spring Water and Incanter's Flow. And to add more salt to the wound and just as I feared people are starting to catch on and pick up Control Warlock due to the Pen Flinger nerf and now it is nigh unstoppable. Aggro decks lost alot of burst damage so Warlocks are able to comfortably stay healthy throughout the entire match all the while infinitely spawning 6/6's, and due to Tickatus you auto win vs control and combo. The deck effectively beats almost an entire archetype trifecta. Aggro? loads of healing and AoE for pretty much any board situation (May I remind you of Hysteria and Cascading Diaster, the most broken removal in the game) Control? Tickatus. Combo? Tickatus. Midrange? Only Clown Druid can beat it comfortably. I would wager this is the best Control has ever gotten and the most broken it will ever be.

"Hey Loser!" has now given me more PTSD than "Everyone, get in here!"

I'm honestly surprised many people aren't on the Control Warlock bandwagon, because it's actually tier 1. How does any other slow deck beat this? I like that Jaraxxus got buffed but it exists at the same time as Tickatus in standard so it's only more salt to the wound, complete overkill. The deck has answers for everything
1
Saw this happened to my opponent today, could you be them? lol I was control priest in standard

Yeah usually there is just a wait time (which I don't mind) but you can't even get into a game at all. Big bummer.

Day 1 of the expansion and can't even play the game, nice job team. It's like opening up Christmas presents and then not being able to play with your new toys.

Face Hunter in Standard feels just like it did back in Classic and I'm having a blast, I missed good ol' Buzzard Unleash combo. Sad that it's going to go away soon :(

Get your Buzzard Unleash combo while it's hot!
Worgen OTK Warrior is back in full swing.
