posted a message on F2P Lives Matter too...

I hear you--you're not wrong!  I even agree with some of your points.

I used to pay for the bundle packs and the legendary return rate was so much better.  It's mostly anecdotal at the moment because I have only one "F2P" expansion of experience.

It was mostly just a #feelsbadman post but going 67 packs with 1 legendary is really terrible--that's an awful rate.  I'm pretty much done with buying Barrens and having only gotten 3 legendaries plus the 2 from the rewards track sucks because there are quite a few decks I'd really like to play but can't without doubling down but I'm saving for the next expansion at this point.  Even the alleged 1/5 packs for epics is soooo far from what I experienced.

posted a message on F2P Lives Matter too...

Just wanted to share my F2P experience after its first foray into free-to-play effort.

So after having opened 90 packs, 3000+ gold on day-one of Barrens release in addition to the 59.5 packs purchased/(unlocked via rewards track)--I got 3 legendaries.  The first was within the proverbial "first ten packs," the second was around 50-ish, and the third on pack 78 (meaning, I went 67 packs netting a single legendary (give-or-take, since I can't recall which pack within the first ten delivered the first).

I'd say that's pretty lousy, if somebody asked.  3 legendaries inside of nearly 100 packs is pretty deflating...I know the game doesn't depend on them but deck archetypes do so that means some real monotonous game play.

I can't think of another way to give the finger without actually lifting a finger right now--so thanks, Blizzard!  Really took the joy out of playing this expansion.

    That's all--dismissed!

Hope others aren't as miserly and their luck is far better than mine.

    Cheers and happy gaming!

posted a message on why did they remove classic packs from tavern brawl?

I don't really understand the grounds for removal unless there is some kind of intent to coerce players wishing to complete their classic collection using player gold.  I don't like to speculate though.

Anybody with an inside track know if there was any officially-stated reason?

Cheers to all and thanks to any potential answerers!

40 stats with lifesteal for 10 mana?  simply for overdrawing deck or not including 4-cost cards--yeah, that's not broken at all.

Cool, just lost my first four games of Classic in a row due to my opponents drawing like gods. Nice to know that HS could produce just as many nongames back in the day as it does now.

Back in the day they hadn't tweaked the ZTG programming and matchmaking system like it is today. Back then you actually had close games and had to think about what cards to play. Then someone said the game was too intimidating for new players so they made the decision to remove thought and strategy from the game and make it run on autopilot.

explain "ZTG" for the uninitiated; please & thanks!

    posted a message on Bots?

I see bots frequently, especially when I tank my MMR (by principle of not playing broken classes).

Is it a problem?  Yes--obviously.  But I am glad it's happening because it means a lot of lost revenue for hearthstone.  With the new rewards system generating gold up to level 350, every expansion.  The bots are generating ludicrous amounts of gold (relatively ad-infinitum, with XP gained regardless of match outcome or participation) and that means the bot handlers can buy packs every new expansion without having to dip into their own pockets.  So blizzard's dereliction to attend to the matter is to their own detriment.

posted a message on Do you even bother with games against priest?

unfortunately "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" is a valid maxim and so...these kinds of posts are necessary for the game to flourish.

I stopped playing priest when the resurrection mechanics PRODUCE more minions than the deck limit allows.  Sadly, I'm done with mage class too and its broken ass Conjurer's Calling, I've seen 8 mana put something like 45+ stats on the board, and go figure--they were taunts.  Rogue and Wand Thief might be next.  It's so broken how rogue can just discover so many of the powerful mage spells.  The entire notion of classes and exclusivity was disrespected, bound, gagged, and spit upon by that kind of card.

What I find interesting is the amount of people who relish playing broken decks and "frustrating" others; alarming how ineffectual and socially-impotent people are compelled to resort to grieving others to whet their appetite for influence.  Needs to be said but lemme stop virtue signaling.

Game-swinging RNG is really ruining this game for a lot of its players.  Obviously the sickos enjoy it but for people who crave a modicum of skill-defined outcomes--it flies in the face of reason.

posted a message on Conjurer's Calling

this is unofficially the mage-equivalent of Mass Resurrection...how this broken card has remain unnerfed for 18+ months is beyond me.  I don't play often but when I do play against mage and they deck Conjurer's Calling--it swings the tide of battle EVERY TIME!!  At 4-mana, producing up to 20-mana's worth and twinspelling at that??  Nope--not broken.

The whole concept of "standard" card sets is rendered negligible when broken cards persist.  Look at the cretins bragging about how they can swing games with this card alone.

posted a message on Is Demon Hunter Still OP ?

I feel like neutralizing its ludicrous card draw would "fix" this class.  Anybody playing this and wiping the floors is running a lot of card-draw.

Everything is cheap in this class and always comes with combo effects, draw and give your character attack, draw and reduce cost, draw and silence a minion (outcast effect), draw a card for each minion that died this turn (illidari combo), this class has been out for 3 expansions and has 10 class-specific drawing cards...let's compare that to Shaman who has ONE (1) card-draw card that is class-specific.

Again--the card draw being reduced to the average card draw other classes have--would likely solve the demon hunter problem.

except when, unlike normal decks, it can be drafted more than twice...so yeah applying logic from standard/wild games in the context of arena isn't apples to apples.

You think having a lot of TEN MANA cards is a strategy without drawbacks? Sure, it's good when it works, but games never even get to ten

I feel like you are struggling to understand the discussion pertained to arena mode, which set the stage for the original argument.  Nobody is balking at the notion a 10-cost card should be powerful.  The whole premise of the argument was mind control is really unfair in, *gasp*...wait for it--AREEEENAAAAA.

who's talking about other game modes?  show of hands, anybody??  Oh, that's right--just you.

    thanks for your irrelevant input!

so I just combo'ed Lord Barov followed by Teron Gorefiend and all my opponent's minions remained even though Barov's deathrattle triggered--only against Teron, ironically.

posted a message on New Rogue Card - Whirlkick Master

I REALLY like this card but it needs either a health buff between 1-2 or a 1-mana cost decrease.  Like others have stated--its health is on the "weak side."  It can really only survive for one turn in standard these days and with rogue, that amounts to maybe 1 or 2 additional combo cards that may (OR MAY NOT) be useful.

You could always shadowstep or togwaggle it but I'm getting tired of that gimmick (a routine where you have to slot special cards in your deck merely to just preserve your other cards' utilities with the added penalty of having to pay for it again and-or draw it again as well), rogue has good cards but they tend to depend on minions that are super squishy.  Side note: just once, I'd like to see some more durability on the rogue's side.  Rogue is always fun to play because it requires solid, tactical deck-building to win (see squishy comment).

This is a very cool, albeit excessively squishy, card.  Even Shadowjeweler Hanar has 2-more health for similar utility.  Even though Hanar is legendary--whirlkick is epic so I think she deserves more health being a tier-2 card.

posted a message on Decks not saving on Hearthpwn

it sounds like bad cookies, if it's not a problem for you--I recommend deleting all your cookies but this means you have to re-login to all sites that require a username-password that you have previously specified to be remembered.

If you can swing that and login to hearthpwn and try a test upload of a new deck, I suspect that may have been your issue all along, given you can see what you thought wasn't saving.

I'll let xskarma takeover from here.

    cheers, Oreli!

have you tried a different browser? If you have the option to try a different browser, do a simple test to see if it works in another browser--at a minimum you could isolate where the problem is if it works in other browsers than your default.

If you're on a mobile device, perhaps requesting the desktop-version of the site might resolve the problem.

also, make sure your browser is up to date.

If you run a lot of browser add-ons (plug-ins/extensions) then you may need to temporarily disable them (access add-ons usually with ctrl+shift+A, not sure what the mac equivalent is off-hand).

If you haven't resolved this within a day or two, I would email support@hearthpwn.com for some proper assistance; provide browser version and operating system initially so they don't have to ask you for it.

Also, make sure you're not in private-mode because cookies are disabled by default in that and it may be what's causing the issue.
