As a result, I have started playing top level Chess again, and some PC games as well. So I guess I have HS to thank for that, cuz it used to be the only game I played for quite ahwile!!!!
Look on the bright side as my grannie used to say!!

Quote from Dismantled_Duck >>Hi there... totally new to this game and the concept. While I know the basis of card games I have never really played any. I have totally fallen in love with the aesthetics and details in this game... and have enjoyed clicking around and winning some games in practice. I am however struggling to get past the first adventure being Sir Finley. I know I’m prob like a lot of other noobs on here posting about this sort of stuff, but please bear with me and show me the ropes...is there anyone willing to be helpful and guide me with a kind of 101 to the game. YouTube tends to all be a bit too detailed for me.
Many Thanks

Welcome to HS! As you can see, there is an ongoing debate about the extent to which skill (as opposed to luck) plays a role in winning and ranking up. I can assure you that if you continue to play/put time into the game your skillset will develop and you will get better at the game, so don't be discouraged by those asserting that luck and RNG are the only factors that decide who wins/loses matchups. You may not always be able to anticipate what is in your opponent's hand, but you can optimize how you play what is in yours.
I would offer you my btag but I see several people have already done that and I'm sure they're more than capable of helping you out. Best of luck and remember to have fun. The instant you start taking HS too seriously will be the instant you get tired of it and lose all interest; take it from someone who's been there.
P.S.: Experience is the best teacher, so if you find that YT videos are too complicated just jump into some matches. Experiment with how you play your cards and try to find what is most conducive to achieving whatever deck you are playing with's win condition. Knowing how your deck wins and playing in such a way that facilitates this "condition" is integral to victory/progression in HS, and the best way to attain said knowledge IMO is through actual gameplay. If you're struggling with this, check out pro streamers on twitch and observe how they are playing your deck differently. You'll be able to find popular/high WR decks on HSreplay; I would suggest an aggro deck like face hunter or mech pala bc they are relatively easy to play, cheap to construct, and allow you to focus on fundamentals like counting and board control. Again, best of luck.

ill try to answer... only difference between the players that consistently hit Legend and the players stuck at rank 25, is.......the amount of time they invest - spent - waste - lose - entertain their self - have fun playing that game.............so 14-15 times legend, only means that this guy played literally thousands more games-hours than a casual 25-20 rank ''bad'' player.

I always look forward to new sets, but I'm nowhere near as hyped about the new year thing as they appearantly want me to be.
I am kinda curious, but my expectations are rather low. I doubt that it will indeed fundamentally change the game for everyone and shape the game for the next decade, as Frodan had put it.
After several years of playing, my impression is that Hearthstone isn't really supposed to change all that much. We see minor improvements here and there, rarely some actual innovation like Battlegrounds or the rank 50 ladder, but for the most part, things are going to stay the same. I expect something that's kinda cool, but not a game changer. We won't call it Hearthstone 2. I'm pretty sure that it will still look and sound and play and feel exactly the same way it does now.
Though it would be cool if I'm wrong.

I agree. Standards been pretty stale forna while now. Love battlegrounds but absolutely no desire to play standard. Not about being lazy, it's about having fun.

Probably the first time I wont spend money on it, ladder has been shit for some time and play exclusively battlegrounds these days.

I miss his over the top personality. Nobody laughs like Brode.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that if you translate the Murloc message, then it would mean something along the lines of: "The Dark Storm is upon us". Don't take my words for granted but I think the next expansion might involve some dark storms...

I'm just grateful that we get something for free.

Making the quests trigger off of BOTH battlegrounds and standard (like taking turns and using your hero power) does LITERALLY NOTHING to harm non-battleground users, I'm confused by your position.

Oh this deck is FUN!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased it with cash. My logic is I would spend that much to go to a movie or out to eat, and I'll enjoy this adventure for a long time. It's my guilty pleasure :)

Why are people on here so rude?

I really enjoyed your video. Do you stream?
Also this deck is FUN!! I'm not very good with Druid, but I'm trying to learn and did enjoy Hadronox back in the day. I'm at rank 10, and I played this a few hours yesterday. win a star, lose a star, and so on, but SO MUCH FUN :)
Thanks!

The Quest Jade Shaman is ridiculous. Sadly, in Casual I had a great win rate (58%) Just played 8 games on ladder and lost every single one, including twice to secret mage. I just suck at Druid, evidently. lol

Thanks for this video! It was fun to see that you get where I get almost every game....almost dead, but then....boom! Back in it :)

Admittedly, I am not very experienced with Druid, so I haven't been doing very well with this deck, even though I think it's a lot of fun. Now that you have this in depth guide I'm going to continue trying. I'm at rank 10 floor, so I feel comfortable playing a deck I'm not very good at :)
Thank you for this great guide!

Looks like a ton of fun! Going to give it a go today! Thanks :)

I've played this deck for a while now, and I played secret Hunter before that. I find that IF I get Subject 9 by turn 5/6 it's great, but usually, especially in this deck since you only have 6 secrets, I have played my secrets by the time Subject is drawn. However, Dinotamer is a Game finisher! If you want to play this deck (and it is FUN and good) then craft Dinotamer :)

He is always fun though. :)
