JPaynerVideo posted a message on The 2 games win streak change - Blizzard got it wrongPosted in: General DiscussionHaving bonus stars for Win streaks allows for people with 50% win rates to get to legend. Every so often you'll get an undeserved extra star at 50% win rate. Having no bonus stars under rank 5 ensures that the only people getting in to legend are those that have a higher than 50% win rate.
Makes sense to me.

kitsel posted a message on Elise is the best thing ever to happen to Druid.Posted in: General DiscussionYes, adding in an unreliable mechanic to search for cards that replace a synergized, curved deck into a random mess of legendaries (many terrible) with no synergy, removal, buffs, or burn, all while simultaneously removing your primary win condition in order to reach this point sounds like a fantastic idea.
Fun idea for casual though.

I definitely feel that way. The game is much more enjoyable after you achieve 12 wins in arena and Legend. I do think the ranking system is really flawed though. In most other games with rankings there is more of a safety net. In Hearthstone you can get to the next rank and lose 2 games and get demoted... it is very discouraging.
Think of popular games with competitive rankings like Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. If players just got promoted to masters or diamond, then immediately got demoted for losing 2 games there would be outrage.
