    The difficulty of the fight is premised on the fact that he gets a 5 drop Fen Creeper that can attack on turn 1.  Easiest way to get rid of him is Shadow Word: Pain, and priest can also survive his Necrotic Aura a lot longer than other classes due to hero power.  Lightwell is also really good on this fight.

    Once Fen Creeper is out of the way, Loatheb is pretty much just playing an aggro deck with no card draw.  He plays a lot of Poison Seeds, though. At least 2, and probably more, so don't bother with expensive minions.

    The problem was some basic AI flaws.  The final spider boss was the worst, always using hero power when there was some cases where it obviously should have killed some creatures.  I bounced voodoo doctors and elven archers over and over again it could have killed without losing a creature.  The same problem with the second boss there were times she could have killed a lightwell but instead attacked my hero. 

    Now I did use Alex to beat the final boss and it would be fun to kill it without doing that but by the time I used Alex it was basically just to speed things up.

    The hero power was designed to be used that way.  If it used the hero power strategically, it would likely be impossible to beat.

    A lot of posters here, if they're telling the truth about their rankings, are in the top 5-10,000 players out of 10 million total accounts.  Normal mode is clearly designed to be cleared by players with limited pools of cards.  I bet fewer than 5-10% of all players end up clearing all the heroics, even with budget decklists for each boss available online.

    I used this mage deck.  I could have used a Kobold Geomancer for the same purpose as Bloodmage Thalnos; it was just to add one damage so Arcane explosion would wipe out his wolves and potentially a Shade of Naxxramas and Flamestrike would kill his 5/5 spider-guys.  It's useful to have a lot of spells to dump cards when your hand starts to fill up. You want to clear her board and empty her hand so you can just keep her topdecking until you set up Alex.

    Yeah, I got DCed and can't log back in to try heroics. I wonder if you can use Alexstrasza on heroic bosses.  I saw several datamined audio files that suggested the game will prevent you from using "cheese" in heroic.

    The hero abilities turn out to be less scary than I expected, for the bosses don't cast them a lot.

    I did Ramp for Anub'Rekhan, Zoo for Faerlina to keep my hand empty, and Handlock for Maexxna to exploit her hero power sending defenders/protectors back to my hand.  Also one-shotted the class challenges.

    You understand that zoo will use it to protect its creatures too, right?

    Zoo may or may not use this.  Playing this against a control deck is devastating, and zoo can't afford the tempo loss of drawing a situational card.

    This seems designed to mess with Miracle, but it also gives aggro a huge and unneeded help against any kind of control.  Lots of decks will want to brawl/holy nova/consecrate/hellfire/shadowflame/blizzard on turn 5/6, and this buys the zoo player another turn to hit the face.

    That's a terrible waste of the Innervate and Coin.  You can WG on turn 2, again on turn 3, and play Ysera or Rag on Turn 4 with that hand.

    posted a message on Why are there so many players with really strong decks in the lower ranks right now?

    The game is pretty mature at this point.  Anyone who has been playing steadily since March has now had enough time to pull a couple of legends from packs and probably craft a couple more.  

    Also, 17 isn't actually that low.  A lot of people aren't playing ranked at all, and probably more than half of those who are are clustered at or below rank 20.

    I really can't imagine the to-the-face hunters or the midrange Highmane hunters integrating this card into their decks.  This seems like a fun card that might give you a chance to play with legendaries you haven't got in your collection occasionally, but which does not seem to add much to the competitive constructed scene.
