I'd argue that the Polymorph effect is as bad or worse than the deathrattle, and its cost makes no sense.
This card is insanely underpowered compared to the severe Power Creep that took place in GvG and it saddens me that such a good concept went to waste. It would also be an incentive against aggro, which is exactly what Hearthstone needs.

Just look at Novice Engineer (never played):
(2) drop; 1 Mana stats - 1 health = Draw
Or Loot Hoarder:
(2) drop; 1 Mana stats - Deathrattle = Draw
Now we have Gnomish Experimenter:
(3) drop; 2 Mana stats - Polymorph any minions drawn = Draw
