I think they are very strong since the times they do pop off, they can essentially win you the game, no other one drop really has that power. That said, if you really don't want to craft them, Squires or Dire Moles are fine too, Fire Fly can be good discard fodder etc.
The Mid- Range matchup is heavily tempo/ board control based, so usually whoever goes first has a huge advantage since the main way Hunter wins is by snowballing board. Clear minions when you get to chance to and play around key cards like Razormaw, Houndmaster, Unleash etc. If you win the board vs Mid Range you will usually win the game unless you get bursted down (you can play around those situations to an extent by holding back on hero power and minions that deal damage to you).

Yep! These are good swaps. I'd also add Leeroy over Rocketeer too. And potentially Mossy Horror/ Void Rippers over Spellbreakers.
