It's a decision from higher ups/Perkins Miller (new CEO from Stubhub) to focus the company on the Wikis and D&D Beyond because money. They want the community to move to the gamepedia wiki, they re the same sites in their head

Is there not any way another person can step up and they clone the website over to their server to keep this running? I don't understand if it is a server thing or an admin thing not being able to keep up with it anymore. I am sure some folks are more than willing to take that job over to keep this site up and running.
It's property of Curse/Fandom and it's up to them to decide what they want to do with the domain and everything. It's the suits deciding it's not worth keeping due to profits or otherwise. This is what they want and there's really nothing that can be done in that regard. It's a copyright type deal and copying the site is not an option, so a new platform is being developed independently.
