At first I was thinking of the Mana Crystals, but on the third turn, you still only get one unit extra compared to the previous turn. If you are comparing the pillar to the first day/turn, then that would be the Mana Crystals.

Unfortunately not, but I like your reasoning.

Thought up a bit of a riddle and thought I'd share. Whoever guesses it gets nothing but kudos.

On the first day, it is calm and quiet. The pillar is steadfast, retaining its size.
On the second winds howls. By a single unit, the pillar does rise.
The third day is a downpour. Two units more is the pillar's prize.

What hearthstone related thing am I?

I apologise if this is guessed pretty quickly, since I'll be offline for about an hour, but I'll update on the winner on my return.

Personally, I'd go for the Keleseth play, since playing it early is too good to pass up, as others have said.

You can deal with the gul'dan play with a well timed Mojomaster Zihi, at least for a few turns. Which may be all you need when all your minions already have +1/+1

Alternately, if Mass Dispel diminishes the power of Spiteful too much, you could instead add in a Psychic Scream, but then I suppose that would weaken Archivist instead...

     Haha! Yes, that's extremely true.
That said though, I am tempted to reconsider playing the Archivist as well at the moment. He is a nice play when the opponent plays a solitary big minion that you might want to steal (like DK Rexxar' stealth minions etc) but otherwise, I find I simply don't play him that much in games.

However, sods law will dictate that, if you do replace Archivist with Scream, 75% of your Spiteful plays will just end up with Lynessa Sunsorrow :\

posted a message on Genn and Baku (Mostly Baku) are a cancer that's slowly eating away at Hearthstone

I love Genn and Baku, but I never play them. They're the best, most original neutral legendaries they've created in a long time. They add a whole new dimension to the game, and would welcome additional "Start of Game" effects.

The problem is with Blizzard themselves. I believe that they quite carefully pick which cards need nerfing, but the exact nerf they decide on seems to be based on where the dart lands on the dartboard.

"Ok, so now we're gonna nerf equality! Get that blindfold on, Grant."

*Spins around 3 times. Throws dart at dartboard*

"Ooooh! Nerf by 2 mana. Shame. It might have been better if it landed on "Nerf by 1 mana" or "Nerf Consecration instead", but the dart has spoken!"

Come on now, these threads are a bit pathetic.

If you want to talk about it, go here. These threads can easily fall into the realms of inappropriateness, but the mods have kept this one open for the sake of discussion.

My friend and I both bought the recent shop item where we got 10x Witchwood, Boomsday and Rastakhan packs.Neither of us got a single legendary in them.

We now have a joint running total on whatsapp for how many packs it takes for either of us to get one. Currently on 75...

I get that there's a pity timer, but surely, just by the sake of randomness, we should have had one between us by now.

I am pretty sure that it is impossible to go 75 packs with no legendary.

is this number for all your packs. or all your packs from a single set?

each set has its own pity timer, so if you open 20 from one set, 15 from another, 30 from another, and 10 from another, then you could easily go 75 packs without cracking a legendary.

Yeah, it's been from different sets, but my point isn't that I should have hit the pity timer by now. It's that, by the sake of sheer randomness of the drop rate, I should have had some kind of legendary by now.

If it's easy to go 75 packs without one, that's a pathetic drop rate.

    posted a message on R5 -> Legend // Time??

Easy. Just get a Monday - Friday 9-5 job, but exclusively play hearthstone. You'll essentially be paid for playing Hearthstone, like the streamers and pro players do!

The best part is that you'll only need one week to do it, which is great cos you'll be fired after that.

    # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

The Boomship is there for the very late game when you've discovered a few big creatures/Mechs and need a quick bit of Board Presence. It's also used to cheat out Hakkar, the Soulflayer but its not an absolute must have..

Looks like a better list than mine. I might copy it...

Can you guarantee a kill on your own Hakkar if you don't use boomship? Or just risk dodging the (albeit unlikely) silence/polymorph/hex?

posted a message on Playing for Goal or Fun

Started off as fun, is now probably "both", but only because I'm F2P, so have to keep on top of all dailies/free giveaways/tavern brawls etc just to keep up with each expansion.

I used to always play casual and just play decks that I've built for the fun of the deck building, but sometimes I'd have the makings for a tier 1 deck that looks fun, so I'd play that.
But, with those decks, I don't feel like I'm allowed to play casual cos then I'm ruining everyone else's fun...
So, I started playing ranked every now and again, and climbed to rank 20 and got rewards.
Then 20 became 15, and I got better rewards...
    Then 15 became 10...

Now I'm floating between 10-5 most of the time (usually 8-9 tbh), and never play casual anymore.

So to answer your question, I don't know anymore, but I picked "fun" because I don't really have an aim. I just play and see where it leads me.

posted a message on what is the earliest turn that you killed someone?

I remember a recent turn 3 win with mage when Mana Wyrm was 1 mana. I drew the godhand. It was something like:

Turn 1. Mana Wyrm - Coin - Mana Wyrm

    Turn 2. Primordial Glyph > Primordial Glyph > Frostbolt - 1x 5 attack Mana Wyrm, 1 X 4 attack mana wyrm = 12 damage Face

    Turn 3. Frostbolt - Arcane Missiles - 1x 7 attack Mana Wyrm, 1x 6 attack mana wyrm = 19

As for Tavern Brawl: Turn 1, with those broken "Your spells cost health instead of mana" druid/paladin decks

posted a message on Please discuss - Target gold @ rotation for F2P?

I have a process that works for me:

    1. I do every single tavern brawl, daily quest and one-off promotion. I also try to get as many '3 wins' as possible, depending on how much free time I have. I also only play ranked, so that I get the best end of month reward possible. You have to bleed dry all of the free stuff and get maximum value.

    2. I spend all my gold on packs for the most recent expansion. Sometimes, I go for earlier ones, depending on how "lucky" I've been with each expansion.

    3. I only spend dust on high tier or flexible legendaries and epics. Cards like Baku, Genn, Zilliax, some DKs, voodoo dolls, primordial drakes/glyphs. Whatever.

    3. I always disenchant golden legendaries, unless they're tier 1 and I really want them. "Any Legendary you want" is far more valuable to me than "This legendary, but in gold". I also disenchant all duplicate golden non-legendary cards. I don't care about the aesthetic.

    4. As soon as a new expansion has been announced. I stop ALL spending and save it all until release. Usually end up getting at least a couple of legendaries worth of dust tavern brawl packs alone, and enough gold to over 40 packs.

    5. Repeat

I may not have too many packs to open on release day with this method, but combined with the free packs that are given away, it's usually enough to get all the commons and rares, as well as a large portion of the epics and a handful of legendaries. But, imo, dust is more valuable than gold, so it doesn't really matter if you get dust from the most recent expansion, or from any other packs.
