posted a message on The Darkness + Dead Man's Hand Warrior

I've played Mill Rogue ever since I figured it out (when Gang up was released) and I would never play The Darkness in the deck. It's slow, clunky and kills itself when you make powerful mill plays. (The Candles get milled and you never get the card into play).

The opponent will simply save a card to kill it and that's it. It's not a very good card. I'd rather be playing Fal'dorei Strider in a Mill deck.

The Darkness probably wont see play as a 4 mana do nothing card. Playing it when your opponent is in fatigue already is ambitious as you have to get them there in the first place to reap the reward. Which is silly. Just play more cards to get you to winning.

I think there are definitely plenty of good cards in Kobolds. Even some that can help make new archetypes and aid existing ones. Plenty of greedy cards here to try out.

I haven't spent money on this game since TGT... so spending on this expac is done with gold only. And I'll certainly sink 2k gold into this one to see what I can get. There's some cool epics here and some deck defining Legendaries.

My only issue is that Priest got so much from this expac again. It's pretty much beyond ridiculous at this point.

Druid - Twig of the World Tree with mediv is gonna be bonkers if it's allowed to land. 8 mana play Medivh, the Guardian, play Ultimate Infestation... Profit?

Rogue - Kingsbane may create a new rogue archetype and could go into mill to simply avoid some fatigue damage. Fal'dorei Strider could also see play, but I'm not so sure. The Secrets could also add a little spice.

Hunter - People might try out a minionless hunter... Although I'm not too sure about how viable that would be. Otherwise Flanking Strike seems quite nice.

Mage - Aluneth might go into freeze. Draw 3 for 6 and potentially more is really strong and might make the cut. I havent fiddled with a list enough and obviously haven't gotten to test it IRL. Leyline Manipulator might make some crazy tempo plays possible for quest. Which might give it enough to be better than freeze.

Warrior - Reckless Flurry might be very good help for DMH in wild. Not sure how good recruit is going to be. If Patches is any indicator it could be very very strong. Face Warrior with lots of charges and a pirate package to start? I'm not sure... Think of Gather Your Party this way: "Draw a minion and play it without paying it's cost. It's battlecry is not triggered." If it doesn't exist now I'm sure there will be something out there that will bust recruit eventually.

Paladin - Call to Arms will be stupid good, just a matter of what you set up for. Crystal Lion might make it into a SIlverhand list as a 1 of. Val'anyr seems super cool, but really slow and weak to priest shenanigans. I doubt it will see any play, but when it works it will be a stupid amount of value. Getting it to roll on multiple charge minions or Copy minions will be sweet.

Priest - Our overlords got some new toys for sure... At least some promote different decks. Another boardclear in Psychic Scream. Another board clear in Duskbreaker. A stronger Aldor Peacekeeper in Twilight Acolyte. Lesser Diamond Spellstone might be a one of in Big Priest. Twilight's Call might be in Big, Nzoth and quest lists. Temporus might be a meme now, but... It's possible that something dumb can be done with it, if not now, eventually.

Shaman - Crushing Hand might help some control variant. Grumble, Worldshaker I'm not too sure about, seems mostly like a win more. Unstable Evolution could be a 1 of in an evo list.

Warlock - Cataclysm might actually be good for quest depending on ordering. Possessed Lackey will be great in a big demon Warlock. Kobold Librarian is great. One of the best 1 drops ever.

    • Master Oakheart This card could pull off some insane things in wild. My problem is what deck to make and how will you get there consistently to justify having a 9 mana 5/5. That combo better win the game on the spot or at least equalize things. This is a card that will probably get better over time.
    • King Togwaggle seems innocent, but there may be ways to make it work. Druid may be able to make the card playable in a list with Hemet, Jungle Hunter after you've gotten your naturalizes and hopefully a coldlight or two. Fill their hand and swap them the Ultimate Infestations and Spreading Plagues that are probably the only cards left in that deck and you win. But even as a straight play, this is a card that is a 5/5 for 8 which makes your opponent pay 5 to get their deck back. Which is pretty darn good value actually. You can essentially stall half a turn away just holding their deck hostage. This card is cute and I hope to make it work.
    • The Darkness could see play in a Rogue list trying to draw asap and then can conceal this guy for a finish. Otherwise it seems too slow for 4 mana and a board spot. Also, there's too many cards to easily deal with him and if your opponent mills off a candle the jig is up (so it's not too great for mill).
    • Zola the Gorgon seems like it could be nice. Just look at it as another copy of a minion in your deck for it's mana cost +3 and it's not so enticing, some decks might want to try for it though, seems a little greedy to me. With Rogue DK this card is 2 2/2s every turn, which is cool.
    • Carnivorous Cube it's cool, but it's slow and could devastate your own plays if Silenced or stolen. Might go into a Deathrattle Hunter so you can pop it immediately with Play Dead. Swallow Sylvanas and get 2 back into play for 6 mana and 2 cards seems legit.
    • Dragonhatcher is cool. 2/4 draw and play a dragon for 9 isn't so bad. It also repeats at end of turn.
    • Scorp-o-matic meet Aldor Peacekeeper.
    • Hoarding Dragon feels good for filling up a hand for strong mill plays. It's really scary to give the opponent 2 coins though.
    • If Dragons get out of control they will see Dragonslayer most likely.
    • Lone Champion might be good enough to make a cut somewhere.
    • Corridor Creeper could be better sometimes in Paladin lists vs Crystal Lion now that I think about it. All depends on when you got it though, and I don't expect them to be more than a 1 of if any make it in.

It's cute, but the deck doesn't really need a finisher like that.

It's the same problem with this card in any fatigue deck is that you'd rather have more cards to get to your win condition sooner or safer. This does neither.

You would also rather mill cards out of their deck if possible and losing a candle from that process would kill the spot on your board.

People really dont remember what rogue DK does.

Rogue DK > 2 of these

There are plenty of ways to bust this in wild at least.

You put two King's Ransom into their deck. Gotta pray for those misclicks.

You put a King's Ransom into your deck. That seems a lot better.

You forgot Hemet, Jungle Hunter my bro.

So just run even more low cost draw to make it and mill out your whole deck to leave them with only their hand.

All you want are the Naturalizes ready in hand really.

Craft a deck concept, don't worry about where the cards come from.

I would also say that Healbot and Belcher are really good for many decks, but not essential.

Depends on your style and what class you want to use.

posted a message on Put Starfall at 4 mana.

My only suggestion would be make it deal 6 damage to the target.

This makes it a slightly higher costed Fireball and Consecration. So now it gives the same effect as two 4 mana cards for 5 mana. Rather than a 4 mana card and a 3 1/2 mana card in value. The flexibility cannot be understated though.

I think it would be fine if it stayed as is. I also think it would be strong if they gave it that 1 more damage on the targeted effect.

EDIT: Just saw the post above with the same suggestion. And yes, I too mostly use it for AOE and when I have to use it for a target it just doesn't do the job sometimes.

I agree in a sense. I do think that it should have some lower stats, but barely (not 5/5 or 2/3) 6/6 should be OK, maybe even 7/5 so that it doesn't blow everything out at 7 mana.

It's a huge blowout card that when comboed properly can destroy a game. This is a serious card that will see serious play.

Also, one of the few SERIOUS comeback mechanics in the game.

posted a message on Yong Woo's answer to more deck slots is downright insulting

I am inclined to agree mr sith lord.

I wanted a somewhat competitive game, this would just be too much for me to handle!

How in the universe would anyone want observer before replay... Oh wait... LoL :/

Makes me sad. I remember when every game had custom lobbies and customization built in... I wish you could create your own format in this game.

This is the stuff that pisses me off, Jesus there just been a large expansion. If u watch value town or any of shows that when ben was on all they asked him was for was new card, new UI, more deck slots, new class, re-balance of cards, observer mode with replays, Sandbox card mode. Its A Free to play mode game stop acting so entitled.

Sorry, but this isn't entitlement. This is a simple request. It's not too much to ask for.

Back when I started playing games seriously (1996) there were tons of built in features (customization, lobbies, clans) that somehow vanished over the last 10 years. It's quite mysterious to me really.

I don't think we feel entitled in any way. We are consumers who happen to be somewhat try-hards. If a game doesn't deliver it's not the hardest thing to move on to the next game that may sate our needs. I always try to look for devs that fulfill the communities wishes. Blizzard used to be king at that, and that is how they made it to this point.

This doesn't make us entitled, we are just used to what we got in the past and want the same level of competency from one of the highest grossing gaming companies in the world.

I remember before SMITE was out of beta I helped them change the shop sale feature, the jungle pull mechanics and even got some simple access to winrates among playing tiers (when they finally added a ranked system). This is the level of integration with the community that is so far gone amongst devs today. If you weren't around for all those good times, I feel bad for you.

I would suggest you check the attitude at the door, it doesn't help the convo move along, nor does it help the community in any way. No one is entitled to anything but their opinion. If your opinion is that we are entitled for wanting something, then I think you should really research what "entitlement" is. We have no prior right to anything, we just have fair requests we want integrated into the game. Don't see why you would have a problem with that in any way.

20 new cards added to a game with 400 of them in it already is not even making a dent into "large". This was a small test expansion. Blizz has suggested the next expert set may be just as large as the initial one (although I really doubt they will release more than 200 cards in a single go).

posted a message on Yong Woo's answer to more deck slots is downright insulting

This is really frustrating. It's a huge time waster for me to keep remaking all my Oozadin variants (rush/midrange/control), my Shaman variants (early pressure into control/midrange, pure control), My weapons decks (Rogue/Warrior with different Pirates/cards, basically 4 more decks), my Hunter variants (Rush, Trap, Midrange), my priest variants (Deathrattle, Combo, Control), my Druid variants (Deathrattle, combo, control), my Rogue variants (Rush, midrange), my Mage variants (Rush, Control, Freeze/combo) and all the other stuff I cannot test because I don't want to have to dismantle other decks.

Listed above are 24 decks that I have gotten an over 50% winrate with. I want to make more but never feel so inclined to have to constantly remake the decks in my collection.

It's really utter crap that they cannot make 30 or so deck slots and be done with it. It's not that hard and certainly better than an observer mode.

Honestly, replays should come before observer. How do you think someone would really be able to improve their own play???? I want to have full access replay where I see both players hands and study my games and how I did vs what I saw.

I have been in the 90th percentile in almost every game I was a try-hard in (this game included) and a huge factor in that was the ability to study my actual gameplay. Not watching other people play in real time!

I hope there are better alternative options rather than buying regular packs. Something like Epic Expert pack: 300 g, contains at least 1 epic card, Legendary Expert pack: 1000 g, contains at least 1 Legendary card or Dust pack: 100 g, contains 150 dusts.

I am sure they will incorporate this or a sale system.

    Double gold weekend?

When the next "expert" set is released I expect them to have packs purely for the next set of 300+ cards. This will limit your purchase pools.

I really look forward to the future of this game if executed properly!
