posted a message on Hero Power Not Balanced

Shaman is the only HP I would look to change just because it should at least be consistent and interactive with it's kit. Other than that, you're basically getting similar value in comparison with the other classes when it comes to HP's. Spending 2 to deal 2 to the face doesn't seem that great when you need priest or warrior can just counter your HP.

I've been experimenting with this Burn Shaman. It has potential for more, but i'm looking to see what really works well, and what could be cut. Somewhat in agreeance about Venomous Scorpid. May drop Rune Dagger as well. Mankrik and Lady Vashj might be some good additions.

Amazing what shaman can do with a little card draw, some synergy, and an actual T1 play.

Well hey guys. I'm back again. It's so absurd how paladin just locks you out of the board by playing secrets alone. Reckoning just kills off my Fire Elemental just because his battlecry deals damage. Like It really feels like I just played a 6 mana spell that deals 4 damage only. How shitty is that....

Oh, but wait there's more. Had lethal on board with 2 Imprisoned Phoenix and could only use Lightning Bolt for lethal, and here comes Oh My Yogg! #2. didn't have nothing else to play as I needed to get through a taunt for lethal, so I needed every card in hand atm. Turned my Lightning Bolt into Whirlwind that dealt 5 to everything, and wiped my board.

At minimum, I could've stablized and just used my 2 Tidal Surge to recover health. Next turn, Alexstrasza the Life-Binder proceeded to flame broil my face from his hand.

Sigh. Just feels like a chess match on my end while paladins are playing checkers when comparing level of thinking and use of brain. At least other classes secrets have to played from hand and cost 2-3 mana. Paladin just gets free secrets and paid nothing for them from the deck other than the cost of the weapon. That's card draw, the mana cost for the secret itself, and the effect. Mind you they can get the same secret twice.

    Okay i'm done for now.

Somethings wrong here.  I’m up against a Shaman,  and playing my death rattle Demon Hunter.  1st turn, he goes first, I’VE GOT THE COIN.  He somehow goes face with Serpentshrine Portal!?!?!?  That’s a 3 mana card!!! How is that possible.  And even more unbelievably, the three cost minion he summons is Deathwarden,   tagline: deathrattles can’t trigger.  This was in standard at platinum level.

    Any ideas?

He used Lightning Bloom. It gives 2 mana and overloads for 2. After that, it was all RNG.

posted a message on Is it Worth It to Disenchant Wild Cards for Standard?

Played wild for a short period of time because I really like to deck experiment, and realized that i'm better off focusing solely on standard since Blizz focus more on balancing standard, while wild is probably going to remain just that, WILD! Anything is possible in wild, and if you enjoy seeing what new ways you can create a deck

I don't have much interest in seeing what old cards would work with the latest cards in every expansions. Sure it's a different kind of fun, and a way to unlock my mad scientist ideas, but when some decks in wild will probably never go away, it's more satisfying to just work on trying to do what I do in standard since Blizz puts more focusing on trying to balance that format, and new cards come out every 2 years.

Duels is just wild with custom cards introduced. Not very appealing to me. Again, a different kind of fun.

Wild and Duels imo seem more so modes you play when you want to get away from standard. In that case, I'd rather go to BG's, and enjoy the variety of ways to play with each hero.

Therefore, I just DE certain cards(epics, goldens, and legendaries mainly), and put my dust into standard. Any cash or gold I put into standard just becomes a sunk cost after rotations that I try to recoup via dusting, and move on with life. It's like going to a bar/club, and paying a cover and buying overpriced drinks. You'll never get that cash back, but at least you had a good time and enjoyed yourself hopefully. Sometimes you just want to do what makes you happy no matter the cost. That's life 101.

I'm not saying an actual combo deck. I'm speaking about mostly synergy or combination of cards that could work well with each other to  establish itself as a decent deck. Will it ever reach Tier 1 status? Well that's up to the deck itself and whoever is piloting it.

The mentioned decks will certainly be a shit test for the builder to consider, but there are decks out there if you really want to find them, create them, and learn how to play them. I played wild when it first came out, but got an idea of where it was headed to in it's current iteration. since then, I started dusting my wild cards to focus mainly on standard.

With that said, I play/build off-meta decks, and find ways to reach D5 at least. Mind you I avoid anything that's meta. I'm sure I could something in wild that can do the same.

Many have already harped on it already, but it's just too many synergies and combos for Blizz to care about wild. Wild is just supposed to be a "fun" mode for people that want to experiment with crazy combos and synergies. It's supposed to be a deck builders paradise to experiment and play mad scientist in HS ala MarkMcKz on YouTube.

That guy is constantly finding odd stuff that works in Wild. Because of that, they have zero interest in completely balancing the format. They leave that up to us to find "balance" in the format. Right now there's probably some wacky combo/synergy out there that no one or very few have considered, and could possibly break the format if you looked for it.

I mean they already have a hard time addressing cards in standard. Imagine what it would take to keep wild in check the same way they try to do in standard. Wild is truly a byproduct of standard, so outside of something being completely broken to the extent that nothing can stop it, they're going to focus mostly on standard.

posted a message on Landslide or L.Storm?
    Quote from C4lm >>

I've been wondering why current Standard decks favor Landslide over Lightning Storm.

Landslide: Deal 1 damage to all enemy minions. Repeat if Overloaded

Lightning Storm: Deal 3 damage to all enemy minions. Overload 2.

Old L.Storm was hopelessly outdated, but the current implementation seems alright. Landslide makes a good combo with Novice Zapper, but... it's basically the same thing as any Spell Damage + L.Storm. I'd get the point if meta was more focused on Deathrattles or Divine Shields, but currently it's not.

Shaman is already lacking draw to make Zapper + Landslide consistent, and buffed Storm is an alright early board clearer by itself. Am I missing something really obvious here (besides the Overload, which has always been there) or are people sleeping on buffed L.Storm?

Slide/Zapper is 1 less mana I guess. Maybe you need that on T3 instead of T4. Quite honestly, I think Bliz wants Shaman to be a control class that runs both cards.

posted a message on Honestly I don't understand why people play this game anymore.

Shaman main here. I play this game to always crack the off meta code, and make sub par classes work. Oddly enough, it seems it's always Shaman at the bottom of the meta. With that said, I have ventured to other classes throughout the years and still do(Unicorn Priest, rough times of Paladin, Warlock) . I agree with you that netdecking is boring at times, but I do enjoy seeing others ideas, and creativity to further enhance my own homebrews or simply build  upon what they were thinking/had in mind. Sometimes they were headed in the right direction, but overlooked a combo or interaction that could have pushed their deck further.

Everyone doesn't have the ideals as you do. Because of that, continue to be a homebrewer, but with a different purpose. Use your envy towards netdecking as fuel to demolish them with something that is off-meta. I get so much satisfaction out of beating a paladin as a shaman after they bm all game thinking they have an easy win, only to get demolished. I use the Thunder King portrait just for his emotes. It can be rewarding in other ways also when your opponent adds you as a friend only to get your deck code, and gives you a thumbs up for creating a fun, but strong deck.

posted a message on possible fix to overload
    Quote from Carlsberg >>

Overload isnt even the problem in the current meta, they have no end game, they can't heal enough to stay alive they have no card draw. No strengths, all weaknesses. They need Shudderwock in the classic set imo.

I'm currently experimenting with a totem mid range deck with Al'akir/ Ysera finisher, and when I get Mana Tide Totem with a Totemic Reflection out on 6, I draw so much to the point that I just overwhelm my opponent with the good cards shaman has. Point is, it's amazing what shaman can do with some actual draw. We need more versatile draw in the class to match the other classes.

posted a message on Murlocs ain't Shamans

Has been my biggest gripe outside of no card draw. Too much of niche class, and Blizzard never focus on a singular niche each expansion it seems. Murlocs in general never were a tribe with a ton of value. You would think Neptulon would be a core card at this point if you're going to push murlocs this hard.

posted a message on New Shaman Hero Power brainstorm.

I floated the idea that if it's going to be random, then just throw the class totems in the HP pool instead of being class cards. If you have to nerf the health down to 2 for all totems, then fine, but at least you're not wasting deck slots, and also makes more impact when you tap.

If not that, then just get rid of the totem HP, and go with something else. Like if you could give a minion windfury or something. You could go a step further and just make Hagatha the Witch a core card. At least that gives Shaman pseudo draw, pure value, and a win con.

Right now the totem HP is practically useless. For a HP to be a means of creating tempo, it typically generates very little tempo.  You could probably go an entire game without tapping and not a miss a beat.

posted a message on Is shaman main issue... 4-health minions ?

You can find ways to deal with 4 health minions, but it requires setup. Novice Zapper + Landslide is a 4 damage AOE. The problem is, you have to have both cards, and it's 3 mana. Novice Zapper + Lightning Bolt gives you the target removal, but ultimately costs you 4 mana, and again requires both cards. I would assume the purpose of Devolving Missiles and Revolve is to help with the issue, but leaves a body still on the board. Sometimes you just need the body removed, and not to deal with a lesser one.
