Man...    When I first started playing Hearthstone, circa 5 years ago, Firebat was the first streamer I ever watched on Twitch.  Ever.  As an older gamer, I was pretty out of the loop when it came to things like twitch, and watching his stream really introduced me to a whole new community. He has a special place in my gamer's heart for certain, and I wish him all the best.

    Quote from Nargacuga15 >>

I will say my only two annoying matchups is Stealth Rogue and Libram/Pure Paladin. Over two months I have played mostly Face Hunter, Bomb Warrior, and a Elemental-Overload Midrange Shaman deck (actually pretty fun and somewhat decent against Aggro).

Stealth rogue is the definition of non-interaction. They just blast stealth minions face in the early turns, pray a big Edwin or Questing sticks, and face face face. I’ve had my fair share of like turn 4-6 lethals with the Hunter, but my most memorable loss this expansion has definitely been a rogue miracle where he/she must have played 4+ cards into Edwin due to shadowsteps  on the coin: Turn 2. Nothing feels worse than your opponent drawing the nuts and playing “6-8 cards” with the same mana you could play 2 with.

Paladin is really something I hate. I hate infinite value. I think cards that get returned to your hand by effect are terrible. In one top deck battle the Pally kept turning his silver hand hero power into a 6/6 with the amount of buffs he accumulated throughout the game. I’d find a way to clear and rinse and repeat like 5 turns. Mind you it takes some setup, but the fact it even exists is infuriating.  This kind of ties into the hand dumping effect you mentioned and I 100% agree with that being an issue in hearthstone. Playing 30 cards doesn’t feel like a challenge anymore. For some classes it can happen within 10 turns- hell for Mage maybe even with 6-8...

This is the Submission Topic. Be sure to upvote what you like here!
    The Discussion Topic is here.

    Competition Theme: Pit Gang

    • Create a card (Previously just minion, but there were enough justified spells that we altered it) to fit an already existing naming scheme in Hearthstone.  Here are some examples:

The "Pit" cards: Pit Lord, Pit Fighter, and Pit Crocolisk all have "Pit" in their names, and also share another trait in common -- their 5/6 statline

The "Gang" cards: DoppelgangsterSaronite Chain Gang both contain "gang" and summon copies.

    • As long as you can identify a naming scheme (2 cards minimum), you can use it.
    • Be creative!  There are some REALLY obvious ones, that should be discouraged.  Some examples of TOO obvious schemes:   "Wolf" cards being Beasts, Ragnaros the Firelord and Ragnaros, Lightlord getting 8/8 stats, "Tron" cards being mechs -- you get the point.  Entries such as these will be pointed at and snickered about.  You won't be able to see us, but trust us, we're doing it.

You have from the time this goes up to 10 EST 2/12 to post AND upvote!

    General Competition Rules

These are the rules that remain consistent from competition to competition.

    Posting Rules

    • You are allowed to submit only one entry.
    • After your submit, you may only make minor edits to your submissions (spelling, grammar, etc.). Please PM a fan creations moderator if you have questions regarding an edit you are not sure about.
    • You may not delete ANY posts you make in this Submission Topic, not even accidental ones. Please PM a fan creations moderator if you make a mistake in your submission.
    • This thread is for submissions only. Any discussion of the competition must take place in the discussion topic.

These are the rules about your Submission:

    • Your card cannot be Golden, have a hearthcards.net generated backdrop, or any major photo editing done to it.
    • You are allowed to post in this Submission Topic only once, only to submit your one entry.
    • Accompanying the image of your card, you may offer some minimal additional commentary to explain its design, balance, and/or other qualities. Flavor text is also welcome.
    • You may not plagiarize. An immediate qualification is the punishment for this offense.
    • You must host your card on a image hosting website. postimage.org is highly recommended. imgur.com currently has issues on this site and images hosted there do not show up.
    • Fun and even humorous entries are perfectly allowed, but "troll" entries will be disqualified. If you're worried that your card may be misinterpreted as a troll card, contact a moderator before you submit. Emote-related cards will be considered a troll entry.
    • We reserve the right to classify cards as "troll" entries as we deem necessary, even if the reasoning is not explicitly stated in the rules.

A Note on Group Submissions: If you team up with other people to submit an entry, you must enclose that information in your submission and none of you may upvote that entry. That would be considered an unfair advantage and we will treat it as vote-manipulation. You are technically voting for yourself, and that is not allowed. Failing to tell us you're in a group is also against the rules, as we'll have no choice but to assume that you withheld the information to ghost-vote your group's submission.

Finally, know that manipulating votes in any way is strictly forbidden. Any violators will receive an official warning, and will be banned from this and all future HearthPwn Card Design Competitions.

    Posting Tutorial

This is a posting tutorial for the website imgur.com. If you use another website, the process will be similar.

    1. It is recommended you use hearthcards.net to create your cards. Save the generated card to your device.
    2. Upload the image to imgur.com. You do not need an account.
    3. After your image is uploaded, many links will be generated. Find the "Direct link". It will have a .jpg or .png at the end of the link. Copy the link.
    4. On your hearthpwn post, find the "Insert/edit image" button:
    5. Paste the direct link. This is recommended but not mandatory: You may choose to make the image smaller by changing the image dimensions.

     Competition Process

Below is a list of all the deadlines for this contest:

    Preview Phase (Jan. 28, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Jan. 29, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
The Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme.
Entry and Early Voting Phase (Jan. 29, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Feb. 2, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be unlocked. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like!
    Voting Phase (Feb. 2nd, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] -  Feb. 3, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites!
    Final Phase (Feb. 3, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Feb. 4, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a Finalists Thread will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Finalists Thread, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and a poll to decide the winner of the competition!

How do we determine the qualifying finalists? We use the following formula:

     ab ) / ( ) = x

    Where,
a = The total number of submissions on the same page as the submission.
b = The total number of up-votes that the submission received.
c = The total number of up-votes on the same page as the submission.
    x = The submission's final score.

The formula basically measures which cards stood out the most, with the necessary assumption that each page is about equal in overall submission quality. It will be the entries that receive the highest final scores that move on to the Final Phase.

The bottom line is that, although entries on the earlier pages of the Submission Topic are much more visible and thus receive many more up-votes than entries on later pages, you don't actually have to rush to get your entry in as soon as possible because the up-votes end up being weighted by what page your entry ends up on in order to determine its final score.

But wait, there's more! During each Weekly Card Design Competition, each Fan Creation Forum moderators will be given a Wild Card , which they can use to advance any one entry that they feel was initially overlooked or under-appreciated to the Final Phase, regardless of its final score. Wild Cards are our way of spicing things up a bit, but please don't ask to be given one or be upset if you aren't given one. These are just supposed to be fun.
(Also, it should go without saying that, while we moderators are allowed to participate in the competitions, we are not allowed to benefit from Wild Cards.)

    Rewards

Bragging rights are always awesome, but as usual, we do offer a couple of HearthPwn site rewards to competition winners:
Their card forever immortalized in our Winners' Gallery!
And a unique Avatar Border & " Card Design Champion " Title, as depicted below!

    Competition Theme: That's All, 'Vokes

To start, congratulations to Hikarigami for winning WCDC 10.18!  This final competition for season 10 is sure to invoke the hero in all of us!

This week, you must create a Hero Card that utilizes the Invoke mechanic, as well as ONE card of that class that either directly uses the Invoke keyword (Example: Seal FateDisciple of GalakrondOR a card that is more powerful after using Invoke (example: Fate Weaver, Veiled Worshipper).

    Rules:

    • The Hero Card must be a Class card. No Neutrals allowed.
    • Your Hero Card can be allowed to Invoke any number of times before upgrading, and can be upgraded any number of times. For example, it may take three Invokes to upgrade and may have two forms, or it may take one Invoke to level up and have four forms. The only requirement is that it must take at LEAST one Invoke to upgrade, and that it must have at LEAST two forms total. Also, if your Hero Card has three or more forms, each upgrade must require the same number of Invokes.
    • This should go without saying, but the Battlecry of the Hero Card should scale with upgrades. You may choose whether or not to equip a weapon at certain levels; it is not required.
    • The Hero Power does not have to cost 2 Mana, but it CANNOT be a passive Hero Power, as that would cause issues with the Invoke mechanic.
    • While the card that powers up once you've Invoked should preferrably require the same amount of Invokes your Hero card needs to upgrade, you can make it so it upgrades after any number of Invokes (minimum 1).
    • Your additional Hero card forms should be under a spoiler.  You may choose which one of the forms will be shown outside the spoiler.

    Discussion Topic Rules

To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?

        • Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
        • Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
        • Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!

All of that said, please refrain from the following:

        • Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
        • Advertising Your Entry. As a rule of thumb, please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other
        • Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

How do we determine the qualifying finalists? We use the following formula:

     ab ) / ( ) = x

    Where,
a = The total number of submissions on the same page as the submission.
b = The total number of up-votes that the submission received.
c = The total number of up-votes on the same page as the submission.
    x = The submission's final score.

They will be allowed to select the next card design competition theme.
And a unique Avatar Border & " Card Design Champion " Title, as depicted below!

This is the Discussion Topic. Upvotes here do not count!
    The Submission Topic is here.

Competition Theme: Did someone say Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker?

To start, congratulations to Klipce for winning WCDC 10.17, back in December!  The theme this week is a simple one, but one of legendary proportions!   Your creation must be one of the following:

     Competition Process

Below is a list of all the deadlines for this contest:

    Preview Phase (Jan. 21, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Jan. 22, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
The Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme.
Entry and Early Voting Phase (Jan. 22, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Jan. 26, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be unlocked. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like!
    Voting Phase (Jan. 26, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] -  Jan. 27, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites!
    Final Phase (Jan. 27, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] -  Jan. 28, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a Finalists Thread will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Finalists Thread, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and a poll to decide the winner of the competition!

Competition Theme: I Like Big Comps and I Cannot Lie

First of all, congratulations to PhoenixFeather for winning WCDC 10.13!

Earlier this year, Pircival won Hearthpwn's Class Competition with Izzy Jameson, the Archaeologist. You can find the full post here:

This week, make a card from any class (or the Archeologist class) that features the keyword: Decay. Decay is the class keyword of Archaeologist, representing the antiquity of their antiques. (Don't judge the diction, this is a direct quotation from Pirc himself). Decay reads as follow:

    Note: Decay does not stack.

    Some examples are shown below:
You can choose the Archeologist class by selecting more classes on Hearthcards.net and selecting the "Pirate Hero" icon:

This competition is a way of dipping your toes into the world of custom class creation!  Have a look around and see some of the hard work and careful thought that goes into creating an entire custom class! If you want to join our discussion on how we'll handle our next Big Comp, send us your thoughts here!
