This will be the first expansion I won't spend a cent on, fuck this game. Most of the new cards are embarrassing, looks like the devs threw the ideas together on their lunch break mostly.

I predict it's going to be a mess, there will be 2-3 really cancerous decks that every twat will net-deck

Also fuck Blizz for treating EU players like 2nd rate citizens

It's not THAT generous, you still need to be playing quite a bit to clock up decent cards. I would count on them adding more factions and a lot more cards over time too. But as is, it's a decent game with a few flaws - net decking is just as rampant, and yet it still feels 10 times more interesting than HS. In fact, lately, after playing Gwent a couple of weeks, I see HS as a cartoon card game now :/

Lol you cannot be serious, you get a keg (100 ores) by winning 3 games (or losing 6 games, as long as you win one round each). In hearthstone after 3 wins you get 10g.
If you win 6 more games you get 75 more ores, which is well enough to open 2 kegs per day. If you want to grind more you can unlock tier 3 rewards and reach 3 kegs per day.
That's not counting mid-tier rewards each 2 round won (15 ores, 15 scraps or a random card) and gg bonus at the end of each match (5 scraps or 5 ores each).
If Gwent isn't that generous what should i say about how stingy hearthstone is?
I said unless you're playing a fair bit - chances are HS players won't put near the same time in. And yes, HS is stingy, I agree on that.  I've bought a few packs in Gwent to get started, and it can be easier build a specific deck - once you put some time in.

Things I like more about Gwent over HS:
    • The mulligans, you have a lot more control over your starting cards
    • The triple lanes with varying effects for certain cards [and they are adding more positioning options]
    • It's easier to create a deck, I love the deck builder layout, you can see things much clearer
    • The limits on special cards, like legendaries. You can't use an all Epic and legend deck for example as you can only choose 6 Silver and 4 gold in any deck - also many Bronze cards are as good, or at least effective as golds
    • It's nowhere near as cheesey, I like the style, it feels more mature

    Things that can be improved:

    • Needs more factions, 5 is just not enough
    • More cards too, but I'm sure this will happen
    • Some kind of Arena/mini tournament mode with prizes
    • A shorter turn timer. I think the clock should start ticking beginning of every round. You're never going to have lengthy, multi-card combo's like in HS, no need for all that time.  People are already abusing it when they're behind

All I can think of for now

Gwent is more like a board game, you just using cards instead of figures, i like it a lot and do tier 1-2 plays daily but i don't find it as a competitor for HS or ESL, more like a supplement. There is little chance that it will be available on mobile, maybe on tablets, but phones don't have big enough screen to fill that huge board with 3 rows on each side and possibility of 20+ cards in the game. And separating the board into several screen with each row etc. would be too much clicking.

I can't wait for Gwent to be available for everyone, because I"m hearing so many good things about it and I want to play badly.
It is available, though still in closed beta, there's tonnes of free keys out there if you search for them. I suggest getting in now before it goes Open Beta, as you'll clock up some experience. Better to make all your mistakes in closed :)

You're kidding right? What makes Hearthstone NOT like a boardgame? The animations, the colours, the cheesiness? the fact it appeals to younger kids? [visit any twicth stream on HS and witness the "chat" - then switch to Gwent streams and see actual discussion]  ... HS is as basic a TCG as you can possibly get. Both are akin to boardgames, only where Gwent is like chess, HS is more like checkers. You can actually win games in HS by just playing whatever turns green in hand ... it is that simplistic, with a lick of luck'n'rng. I am not even kidding when I say I have allowed my young daughter play my account in mid ranks and win games.  Gwent wouldn't suit moble gaming as it's not casual enough! That's the point. HS is a pick up and go, non challenging time killer ... and I say this as someone who's playing since Beta. I think Gwent is aimed at a higher age bracket honestly. But, for anyone interested in both, they are easy to run side by side. I wouldn't say that about ESL, because that one is much more a HS clone. You'll get bored of that a lot quicker I imagine.

I gave elderscrolls a try yesterday and holy shit it looks amazing.Hearthstone looks so shity in comparison and that prophecy thingy is super fun.I will try shadowverse and gwent too and might update in the future.

It plays very much like HS so you should be right at home. Behind all the fancy cut scenes and attempts at a story, the gae plays much like HS only you can build larger decks, and the board is split into 2 lanes - sometimes a lane will have an effect, like every time a unit is dropped in that lane, it'll decrease the cost of a card in hand etc ...
Honestly though, if you're after something different, I'd suggest trying Gwent.

ESL is too much of a Hearthstone rip. Even down to the emotes, the runes in place of mana - only difference being larger decks and 2 lanes. I'm giving it a go though, it's pretty ... but some of the animations are horrendous. I mean, do I really need to wait to attack with one of my untis because I triggered an opponent's action? It seems to crawl through this obnoxious animation on their side, while you twiddle your thumbs. There's also way too much emphasis on taunting up [guarding in ESL] - I think it's perfect for those looking for something familiar, who don't like to stray much from HS to begin with.

Gwent is much better IMHO, I think it'll be a seriously good game once they add more content. A couple more factions for starters.  It's much more a thinking game than either HS or ELS, it's not as ... 'casual' friendly maybe? You really cannot afford to muck up more than once per game. I love the structure, 3 rounds, triple lane boards, not merely units swinging to attack based on strength, but actual strategies involved. It's more like chess than HS really. I'd suggest trying it asap, build up some rank before open beta, as there will be a wipe, but you'll get free kegs according to your rank when it's open

I also tried Dueyst, which doesn't even feel like a TCG. More of a turn based strat game. Kinda more like Gwent only with 1990's graphics.

I'll have to give ELS more time, but atm I would have to say:

    1. Gwent

    2. Hearthstone [barely]

    3. ELS

And I suppose Duelyst at 4, though I gave up on it.

That's enough for me, don't know how anyone can run more than that

Trying it out since yesterday - It certainly looks nice, but I'm finding it a little too familiar. It's a bit ... 'Tauntstone' - even the emotes, the ruins/mana, a lot of the voice overs, and basic structure are a bit too like HS. Only real difference being the split lane.

I started playing Gwent a couple of weeks ago and tbh, it blow this one out of the water. It'll be a proper good game when it hits open beta [apparently very soon] - I would suggest anyone looking for an actual change, try that over this.

Let them know with your pennies. Stop buying. Packs were already over priced. You're buying virtual goods which have no actual value when you think on it. They could charge 50c per pack and still profit.

I have found a cure for the cancerous feeling HS can give you. It's not playing it! :)  I have taken a break from it and been playing other games, inc. Gwent TCG, and have never felt so stress free :D

    So many whines!

You're going to get a fair amount of dust for the outgoing cards. I don't count wild as anything but a pointless casual mode Blizz threw together as an excuse for ousting cards people paid for.  Anyway ... use the dust to craft the legendaries for the classes you play most only. You don't have to have every new card ... wait until the meta settles and you actually know what is worth crafting beyond that

Special Ed players who emote constantly while playing Pirate warrior or Aggro Shaman at rank fucking 10 ... I'm stuck there because I continue to struggle trying to make my Priest and Pally work ffs :D What's their excuse?? Rank 10 ... with the most OP decks in the game right now?? And emoting like fucksticks. I'd hate to be that pathetic.

WIld is merely a dumping ground for Blizz's mistakes. Nobody serious about the game gives a hoot about it. And Blizz did con people with those adventures. Never mind the Pay2play leeches, but people who actually spent cash on them - they were basically robbed.

I seriously don't understand all the hate for Priest. It has consistently been in the worst tier of the game since public release, and in its current iteration, is tier 2 at the very best. It is my favorite class, but I will not fool myself in saying that Priest will be top tier or even relevant.

I take it you've never been on the receiving end of Thoughtsteal, Cabal Shadow Priest, Entomb or plethora of other "imma steal ur shit, lolz!" shenanigans? It feels quite similar as losing to Yogg-Saron's RNG.
Priest hate rarely has anything to do with Priest's overall strenght, but rather their infuriating "Value tools".
Not any worse than Rogues both stealing your stuff and/or throwing it back in your face forcing you to waste more mana on the same thing again, then spending what can feel like 25min's cycling card while you sit there twiddling your thumbs wondering how much burst they're eventually going to bash you for - Or mages who seem to have a spell to answer every move, making you over ponder on whether or not you should even attack with this minion, and if not, they'll wipe it off the board turn 7 either way then freeze you and deliver 20+ damage in one turn - much interactive classes ... give me priest anyday over them

I wouldn't worry too much, there will be something new and more OP than anything now ... Blizz don't do balance, there will be more broken cards. If Dragons go, the day will come you'll wish they hadn't.
