    Orgrim Doomhammer

Flavour text: Some say Orgrim betrayed the parley with Lothar when things got tough, Orgrim would say he aggressively negotiated.

So the lore basis is, when things are at a tipping point (halfway through your deck) Orgrim will ambush the enemy.

Gameplay-wise, he is a solid body (maybe should have made him a 9HP card, consider that option as well) and sometimes the payoff is great. But it can only happen at one point in the game, a point your opponent can anticipate and may not work for you, and maybe the game doesn't last that long or you draw him as your 16th card... so he is certainly not overpowered. Mostly a fatigue warr card.

posted a message on [POLL] Do you feel confused by the implementation of the new deck slots

9 decks slots more is nice, but when Standard hits you will only have 9 for each mode and it will feel almost as cramped as before.

Should have added 18 deck slots for a total of 27, or even better 45 total. As a programmer I am sure deck slots eat like no space so what the hell is the issue? 45 would be a nice balance between what we need and what is excessive, people are unlikely to ever play 45 decks at a time so everyone is satisfied and 45 (5 panels of 9) is not much or confusing so Blizz should be happy too.

I've voted for Agent, it's really cool and unique, it stand a head above the others I must say.

I also liked Nightmare class, it gets an honourable mention from me.

Good luck to all the contestants :)

posted a message on Class Creation Competition [ENDED]

Argh! I thought I had until midnight to vote.

But I would have voted Lich so doesn't matter it seems... thoooough, I might have voted for Merchant because Lich was far behind, lucky for the creator of the Twilight Hammer class :P

I think it would be better designed if it gained +1 durability every time you summoned a taunt minion. So play this turn 3, kill something, then next turn Sen'jin+kill something, turn 5 Belcher or Fen Creep (if you really hate Patrons :P), hit something and you still have one charge and a possibility of more extensions.

As is it seems far too limited, pity.

Druid is the worst because you never ever want to use hero power and even if you do it does nothing. No synergy whatsoever for now.

    Ftfy

I am skeptical of druid getting good cards as I've explained in this very thread but wonders could be done with the hero power (stacking shift, permanent shift, cheaper shifting of all kinds, on and on it goes). I mean did mage have any direct synergy with their HP before just now?

Depends on the new cards that are released along with it, but I can see it benefiting Rogue the least. With Rogue it's most times strategic to save your weapon charges for when you can power it up with Deadly Poison or Tinker's Sharpsword Oil, rather than just blindly using your hero power every turn like you can with other classes.

As a Druid player, I'm most excited to see what this expansion can bring. I hope there's new mechanics with armor and attack so that some totally useless Druid cards (ala Claw, Bite, and Savagery) might actually see some play. Of course, Druid has gotten completely screwed every single expansion, so why would this one be any different?

I think druid may be gimped again, and like all previous expansions the reason is FoN+SR, it's so strong Blizzard fears giving anything good to the class will break it.

I think if FoN+SR was nerfed sooner then druid would have gotten better cards and would actually be in a better spot now, like how mage got gutted in early beta and everyone thought the class was dead but through expansions it rebounded nicely and is a good class again now.

posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition #25 - FINAL POLL

I will vote for Mana Crazed Moonkin, should be a good anti-aggro card.

I also liked the design of Mistress of Disguise (love the reference), Tetchy Lich (should be a good anti-aggro card, though sadly good in zoo too), Ambitious Recruit and the 8 mana Algalon.

I also like Harth Stonebrew design-wise but he's way too expensive to be good (does nothing on it's own and if removed it's such a tempo loss, like so many cards he is too slow to be useful). At 6 or 7 mana I might have voted for him.

    Magnus Longbarrelm just no.

    EDIT:

@Hasasshu, not sure if you should be going around talking about lore if you don't know it. The origins of the worgen in Gilneas lie in the Wolf Cult, which was a cult that secretly spread the worgen "blessing" among the populace and eventually took over Gilneas City. They were also in a shadowy Alliance with the Forsaken. They were mostly scattered after the defeat of their leader Alpha Prime, with a small remnant being led by Ivar Bloodfang.

I went through all the installation process but at the end when I turn the virtual phone on it says I have to enable Virtualization in BIOS. Well, my BIOS doesn't have such an option. Rekt. BibleThump

Yep, me too. It stings to go through all those steps only to be told you were ineligible from the start.

Maybe my laptop isn't but it probably can't even run the emulator, trololo.

It has gotten even more interesting in my case. I finally managed to find the option in my BIOS, it was very well hidden, but I noticed it was "enabled" all the time. So there is an option, it is active but the program still says I have to activate it. Interesting...

Not all processors support it though. I have i5 2500 and as I've read it should support VT no problem. Hardware mysteries...

Hah, you gave me a bit of false hope there for a moment :P

But I was pretty sure that isn't the case for me since I've already checked BIOS in great detail, Speccy told me I don't support this tech and now Intel's own website. It's official, he's dead Jim.

EDIT: As for your issue, maybe you also need to enable it in the Oracle VM Virtual Box? Like it's done in the vid on this page IIRC.

posted a message on Lich Concept v1.2.1 [Cards and Playtester Updated for TGT]

Man, way too many critics here. Don't pay them too much heed DK, your cards aren't as OP as they say. My thoughts:

-I like the hero you picked, she fits with her class superbly (many people made up or picked nonsensical heroes), I also like that you haven't simply recycled KT. The hero power is interesting though I would say also gimmicky (too slow basically), which incidentally balances the whole class and its somewhat stronger cards.

-Annihilation could be buffed to deal 8dmg, there are still 9+ HP minions that dodge it (Grom, Ysera, etc) and of course cards with DR or DS that it sucks against. I mean Hex is a removal + silence for 3 mana 99% of the time time. Even buffed it is still somewhat bad but I get that some cards need to be such for overall balance.

-I like the design of Eternal Wisdom, it exemplifies the heavy control that the Lich represents. This is also why I think you shouldn't be too concerned by the op op criers. Yes some cards are individually quite strong and would be OP as neutrals but overall the Lich is quite clunky and slow, the gameplan is universally to survive and then destroy the enemy with raw power. This is not OP or UP, it's just the design of the class.

-Marrowgar seems insane at first glance, but so do cards that see little play like KT. Yeah he can generate a lot of spells for you, normal power spells... but do you always want that? It dilutes your deck with low cost spells, what if you need a minion? Or your combo/game winner? I think he is perfect for the Lich just as he is.

-Raw Power isn't too strong either. In most cases you will pay 4 mana to do 2 dmg, which is shit. But then you can for 1 more mana deal 2 more dmg or twice that for 2 mana. In total, 6 dmg for 6 mana, which is crap... unless you have spellpower in which case this rises in value greatly. Which is what every good card is, situationally strong and it's up to the player to make it happen.

-Demise is perhaps the one I'd call somewhat overtuned, maybe bump it up to 6 after the competition? Though I am tempted to just throw zooey decks under the bus and leave it at 5 :P

-Raise Army seems weak now. Maybe return it to freezing all Undead Warriors like it used to (I think)?

-Also people forget Scheme can be nice but generally it is not that great. Imagine seeing a card you don't need now at all but which will be quite useful in 5 turns. What to do? Leave it and have a "dead" draw, actually it is worse, you spend mana to find out you have a dead draw. Or send it to the bottom and be very sorry later.

-End of Hope sucks design-wise. It's a card that is combo/situational/win-more... it's just too much clunkiness. I suggest make it baseline 6/6 (a pretty standard cost for a 6drop with an ability) and say have it be an 8/8 with DR come back as a 4/4 if it goes to the  bottom. Anything really to make it less of a win-more card.

-The class in general could use more draw, how about something that draws from the bottom of your deck? To allow even more interaction with Scheme. Another idea, cycling cards from the hand to the bottom and receiving new ones.

-Grimkor is good, he is a super-combo card like Alex+DMG in freeze mage/cont warrior. Nothing special.

-Dominate Mind, I'd say bump it up to 7 and remove enemy card draw.

-Master Plan is a cool idea, but again one of those clunky things where the mana investment is big yet the payoff distant. LoH heals you for 8 while providing 3 card draw. So I'd give this card (which costs 1 more mana) 3 card draw as well, 2 at the very least.

In the end it is hard to balance things without playtesting, not for you, not for me and not for random posters who like to criticize. Stick to your guns and only nerf when you are certain it's called for. And even then don't be like Blizz but follow it up with buffs so the class doesn't get too weakened overall. I have liked your class since early stages of the competition, I didn't vote then because I didn't have an account but I will vote for you this time most likely. Good luck and good job :)
