once upon a time I had Arch-Villain Rafaam in the ETC sideboard so I could wait until they played most of the plague generators and then transform them into random legendaries. One of the only ways I've found in current standard to do anything about the plagues BUT reno is the only card in the deck that cares about deck-state, so just spam thicc demons and hope they don't steal too many of them.

am I crazy for thinking a 58% winrate is actually really solid?

pretty weird, pretty fun. most of my opponents take me for the wheel deck and go pretty greedy in the early game, then I catch them off guard with snakes to the face! mo'arg into endgame + cursed campaign is just hilarious

lmao, somebody just played an 11/11 Soulstealer into sylvanas and I stole it and killed him with it

I'm 11-3 after the rank reset today. This deck feels really fun, sometimes you brick in hand and lose to giant warlock minions, but other games you're pulling the 4th freeze in a row against a hero power druid who can't whack you for 12+ damage.

The burn spells in this deck offer a serious wincon. I made a similar mage build, but focused more on generating random stuff and less on winning. Against wheel warlock or zarimi priest you can point every spell face and kill them faster than they can combo you. Against aggro you keep the board clean and try to maintain as much tempo as you can until you have enough mana to cast your big spells.

I just swapped my zilliax from perfect+recursive (6 mana 4/3) to perfect+haywire (7 mana 7/6) that mitigates it's own downside. 7 versus 4 rush damage has felt really relevant, it's one turn later but it's a lot more healing and tempo.

The orb doesn't have to be lethal, often I use it as a board clear plus face damage plus a 10-drop on board to set up a lethal next turn.

I won a few games against plague DK by playing Reno ASAP instead of waiting to use it as a board clear.

    Great deck, tons of fun

a man after my own heart, I've been running a similar idea. mine has a few more forge cards and ignis, that 10 mana weapon can get mage really far if you have time to play it. will give yours a shot. my go-to zilliax is recursive+perfect.

where are you getting your 5 dragons summoned from on time? clay matriarch is so powerful because a single copy of her and her mini summons 4 dragons alone. maybe find room for a single copy?

also: pendant of earth isn't for healing. you get to discover a minion in your deck to find the final combo piece. and hitting clockwork giant for 20 healing is pretty cool too

gonna try this out. I tweaked it a bit based on JuukbraJagger's comments below. I removed Leeroy Jenkins and one copy of Watercolor Artist and put in a copy of Kalecgos and Zilliax (recursive+virus for now)

I went 6 wins 4 losses at diamond 5. solid deck, fun singleton gameplay going on. lots of little synergies. take your outs where you can get them. I got away with triple wish upon a star, but it was against a DK with a bad draw. I wish hagatha into shuddercock into wish upon a star wasn't too slow for this meta.

I do think this deck needs one or two more pieces of card draw, though. Card Grader looks good, Plucky Paintfin could pull Burrow Buster or Zilliax, something as simple as Ancestral Knowledge also overloads and activates Flowrider.

Sir finley is an excellent reason to run the excavate package, but it's really hard to get it even to the 2nd charge and make him active some games.

In my 10 games, I don't think I ever once played Horn of the Windlord, I usually had the frog staff up, or didn't have the time to play it. I don't know if you tried an Ignis forge package, but shaman's class forge card is pretty irrelevant. Sand Art Elemental would go really well with an ignis weapon though.

I have a crackpot fun idea. What if we found room for Muck Pools, Workshop Janitor, and Prison of Yogg-Saron. Draw 2 is really good, Muck Pools can help with early tempo, and Fairy Tale Forest draws her and makes her cheaper and activated. Adds another handful of cards that synergize with each other, draws you cards and playing prison in a control deck is always a fun time.

I don't believe in the Kalimos dream at all. We don't run elementals dense enough to activate it consistently, 18 damage when paired with shuddercock is only okay. the ONLY time in 10 games Kalimos was active is when I discovered a zero cost elemental to play the turn before.

man, I wish I played hunter. I have a lot of dust, but I don't think it's worth crafting this close to expansion time. great write up though!
