    1. Is a corporation greedy?  Of course it is, it's a corporation!  Duh!

Being greedy isn't a necessity to being a corporation. Making a profit is a necessity. Making a profit and greed are not the same.

the ease of getting into the game with a limited collection

Interpretation: You can play with a deck that will help you climb ranks all the way to Silver 5 instead of Bronze...for no extra cost!

    My wild and crazy prediction:

They are going to make the classic set free.  Much like the basic set.  I'm also guessing that getting the free classic set will involve completing some new (free) PVE content.

They've been nerfing the crap out of the classic set for a while now.  It might be lousy enough to be given away free now.

And since classic packs will be a thing of the past we will now get rewarded with current year packs for Tavern Brawls and Arena runs and such,

That sounds awfully generous...are you sure your talking about Blizzard?

Never post here this shit decks. Secret Mage and Big Priest are very big cancer in wild. They should be destroyed and never exist.

Translation: Voldie lost one too many times to Secret Mage and Big Priest.

I think I hear the whambulance.

50 gold for completing 2 levels??? SWEET! Now everything is made right with the rewards track!

I'm currently level 41 and I have 2950 in gold. If I make it (that's a big IF) to level 49 I'll earn another 2100 gold...that's enough for 50 packs next season...I'll be able to open at least enough cards to make a really mediocre deck. THANKS BLIZZARD!!!

FTP is officially dead...unless you're content with bronze.

If in the past you did all your daily quests and played little more than that, you earned about 8-10k between expansions.

Now you have to do weekly quests in addition to daily ones, but if you do the math, you will actually end up with about the same amount of gold. Plus a bonus legendary and also some packs.

it's not as bad as most people paint it. What sucks in comparison to the past is that Blizzard brings in more and more legendaries and epics per expac, and those cards also get better in quality compared to the past, so more crafting is required. Hence, while you should still be able to buy 70+ packs, you will still only be able to get one good deck for one class and the rest is just gonna be mediocre indeed...

I have done the math...and there's no way currently to accumulate anything to keep up with creating a descent FTP collection where you can open 70 to 100 packs without doubling or tripling time spent playing.

At most I'll get 40 to 50 packs playing the same amount of time...assuming I make it to level 50.

Blizzard essentially cut the gold income in half and then threw in a few legendary and epic cards and skins...which will not help me acquire gold to buy packs for the next expansion.

I think we need to dissolve the illusion that Hearthstone is FTP. Hearthstone is a subscription model game like WoW, you just pay in quarterly installments instead of monthly.

That's certainly a very valid point now that they've implemented the new "reward track".

FTP is either now dead or not ever going to get very far.

    Thanks for the memories Blizzard!

"We’re adding 50 gold to the current rewards for levels 27 and 30" STUNNING FIXES COMING SOON!

Holy cow...we all get enough gold to buy 1 more pack! Problem solved!

I'm currently at level 34 and have 1100 gold. I'm thinking if I make it to level 50...I can have enough gold to buy 30-some packs from the next expansion which will get me enough cards to build a really mediocre deck. I can't wait!

    Thanks Blizzard!

posted a message on Quest and XP Compensation - Heroic Duels & Returning Player

Bottom line this is the end of the line for FTP players. Well I suppose the FTP players can come back and play each new expansion, but with half as many opened packs why would you want to?

I normally can earn enough gold to buy 75 to 100 packs each season just by completing daily quests and 10 gold for every 3 wins. Now I'll be lucky to get enough gold to buy 40 to 50 new packs each season.

Q: What kind of a decks can I build from only opening 50 new packs each expansion?

A: Not ones good enough to want to keep playing.

Thanks Blizzard...It's been fun while it lasted. This is my last season.
