It is in fact a nerf. If you recruit a minion it would be buffed anyway because the quest applies to your board (Hexed minions are still 4/4). However now if togwaggle steals your deck after you played the quest, he will get the buffed minions and if your opponent death grips a minion this will also be buffed. Not the biggest nerf.
Nice to hear that you had success with the deck. I believe that this deck can work really good against any Control deck, especially when you are curving high enough. However when you are curving even higher than my list you don't have any edge against other Aggro/Tempo decks. That's why this deck isn't good enough in the current meta, even though it is alot of fun to play. Maybe you were facing more Control decks in casual, but in ranked play N'Zoth Hunter has no positive winrate unfortunately...
Don Han'Cho is too slow cause he has no impact to the board for 7 mana. Also his buff is only valueable if it lands on either Rat Pack or Dispatch Kodo and that is too unreliable I guess.
That's actually a good replacement, I also considered it. I just think Doomsayer is more consistent since theres no big risk in it. Gonna try it out though.
I'm at rank 10 so far. Believe me, Doomsayer is the best minion to counter aggro, he clears the board and allows you to establish your own board presence over the opponent.
I teched in Doomsayer after facing alot of Aggro Hunter and Warrior. With Doomsayer you'll completely swing the early game to your favor and you're also able to set up a strong turn 3 because you have many strong 3-drops. Highmanes, Sylvanas and N'Zoth are still enough late-game to beat slower decks like CW or Druid.
Huhuran can be relaced by 2nd Eaglehorn Bow, or another 5-drop like Tundra Rhino or Stranglethorn Tiger. Funny you mention the Murloc Paladin Matchup because from my experience it's similar to Control Warrior and you are pretty much favored. Basically your 2-drops into Infested Wolf into Savannah Highmane is too hard for paladins to remove so you can often push for lethal before they can stablize. Secret Hunter is true that you're unfavored, it's like Aggro Shaman or Zoo that they are too strong in the early game.
It's true that you're unfavoured, but in comparison to other Hunter lists, this deck is better vs Shaman. I personally have about 45% Winrate. However if both Hex are in the bottom 15 card for Shaman you should be able to outtempo Shaman by turn 5 and 6. And if you're able to keep the game even until late-game you can also swing the game With N'Zoth or Call of the Wild, because Shamans can't clear big boards.
