posted a message on All KaC Cards Reviewed In Over 11,000 words! By Pageturner.

To me this rating system seems a bit unbalanced. Most cards won't see competitive play, but they will have different power levels among them. Only the very best cards will end up in meta decks. In this system, you give most cards 1 star (won't be played in meta decks), and then rate the very few cards you think might see play 2-5 (will see play in meta decks in varying degree).

For example, Chillwind Yeti does not see any play whatsoever, and would with this rating system be a 1 star card. For a shorter and more readable review, I'd suggest you just cut out all the 1 star cards from your review altogether. They just take up space.

    I applaud your thoroughness though.

posted a message on What if you could buy individual cards with money instead of packs?

If you could buy cards directly, they would have to actually show how incredibly expensive they are. I think they don't want you to see that so clearly.

I don't understand why we can't buy pre-built starter decks though. Physical TCG's have them, and I think it helps with the new/returning player experience.

Who would have ever been hooked on magic in the first place if you only had the option to buy boosters? It should be easy and exciting to start. I think Hearthstone was like this in the very beginning, but I don't believe it is as easy to get in nowadays. Impossible for me to experience of course, so maybe I am wrong.

What needs testing is the interaction with Doomerang. Is your weapon destroyed before its returned to your hand? It doesn't say so, but then HS never needed a distinction between "Destroy your weapon" and "Return it to your hand". Guess we can check it using that 4 mana elemental that gains +1/+1 whenever you destroy a weapon.
One of the options ; that Doomerang destroys Kingsbane, would be incredibly powerful since now you have two.

When this card is used, it deals damage to a minion, removes the equipped weapon, then the weapon is returned to hand.
Like all return to hand effects, the weapon reverts to its original form.
The weapon is not destroyed, so it will not trigger a weapon's Deathrattle or Grave Shambler's effect.
Doomerang's effect is based on the weapon and is unaffected by spell-related effects (unlike Blade Flurry).
It will apply any weapon buffs the weapon has, such as Envenom Weapon and Leeching Poison.
It is not affected by Spell Damage or spell-related such as Hallazeal the Ascended.

But Doomerang keeps enchantments, since it's actually:

    This weapon keeps any enchantments.
Deathrattle: Shuffle this into your deck.

    Really bad sentence sequence.

Maybe it's worded like that cause it keeps enchantments even if you return it to you hand.
It does indeed keep enchantments if it returns to your hand as confirmed by Peter Whalen, since the part about the enchantments is actually not part of the deathrattle.
It is not worded that way though. Take a look at Kingsbane. 'It keeps any enchantments' sounds like it is and continuation of the Deathrattle, where 'it' refers to 'this'. Oshigawa's suggested text is better.

what happens when you get this with a genesis pod or thistle tea? I hope the generated copy(ies) will go into the hand and not be casted cause that would be way to broken.

Pretty sure they go to hand as they are not drawn.

    Quote from Yuusukeseru >>

the real power comes from extended early game board control with that 3rd durability and 1 less mana cost than the Hero Power (this is incredibly underrated).

Exactly, I said in a different thread already that Kingsbane is basically a better version of the old Spirit Claws for shaman.

Spirit Claws was good because it was 9 damage for 1 mana, or aggro management in a pinch. Best of all; it didn't need any support other than your hero power and Azure Drake, which you were happy to play anyways.

posted a message on New Hunter Spell - To My Side!

Nobody is wrong about this card. Even if a spell hunter sees play, this card is by no means an auto-include for any other reason than there being a very limited amount of spells to choose from.

The 'no minion' requirement is similar to 'no duplicate' requirement; but instead of reducing consistency, it reduces card selection drastically. With such a requirement you would expect something incredible potent like Reno Jackson, Kazakus, etc. These cards aren't even as terrible as To My Side! were they played in a deck with duplicates in. Both 4/6 for 6, 3/3 for 4 is better than Animal Companion for 6.

It seems very lackluster that the reward for meeting the 'no minions' requirement is have something that is simply OK. Not great. Just OK. Unless you want to argue that Animal Companion is OP and should get nerfed or hall of famed to stop Hunters running rampant on the ladder.

Maybe in future expansions if Pally gets more dragon love...? The cost reduction wouldn't carry over when you resummon it though (correct?) which makes it not all that great. Also, it speeds up your play by one turn. Maybe it helps give you a tempo play turns 6+. Still, doesn't seem that worth. Would fill deck space for other cards.

It gets automatically equipped the second time, so you only ever pay for the weapon once. 6 mana -> infinite value (As long as you have minions in hand).

posted a message on WOECLEAVER 59 DAMAGE OTK!! Thoughts??

I think it relies on Woecleaver not getting oozed. Don't attack the turn you play it.

    Next turn you play Grommash Hellscream, Inner Rage x2, Sudden Genesis x2 for 4 x 14 + 3 = 59 damage.

    Edit: A little late.

It would effectively make Ebon Dragonsmith a conditionally 2 mana 3/4. It seems very optimistic. However, it's worth experimenting with I suppose. Maybe if you could make use of the dragon tag as well.

How is this an actual question? Do you also spin the wheel every time you get 1600 dust to see what legendary you're going to craft this time?

If doomerang does indeed turn out to multiply the weapon, will any buffs to one apply to all of them though? I imagine if you theoretically have 4 of them and one is deadly poison buffed, the other three won't be buffed.

I don't know if it will create a copy, it's a good question. It does seem like it should keep the enchantments though, which is still Pretty strong depending on what you got on it.
It shouldn't work with doomerang, as doomerang returns it to your hand, much like a sap would to a minion. As such returning this weapon to your hand would remove the weapon buffs as well as that is only attached to the death rattle.
We can test this now, just need someone to blingtron into a deathrattle weapon then doomerang it lol

It's easier to use cho to give doomerang
     good point

I'll save you some time. Check Peter Whalen's tweet in post #352

posted a message on New Hunter Spell - To My Side!

If it lets you choose the two companions, it could have been a fun card to experiment with. Unfortunately the card is an epic. Not enough people will have it, and those that do, will probably dust it. Too bad :(

My guess is that the new weapon is whenever you cast a spell cast it again. Therefore, if you meet the condition on this card with new weapon, you'll get 4 companions.

Even if that was true, would you base your whole deck around that weapon in such an extreme way? If you don't draw the weapon, you're simply stuck with a rubbish deck.
This card makes zero sense. You can't even add Yogg-Saron, Hope's End or Arcane Giant to take advantage of all the spells.

posted a message on Most overrated card so far and why it's Duskbreaker

     @OP

Your thread name and post do not match. Saying that Duskbreaker is the most overrated card, makes it look like you think it is not good. This is considering past ratings, where meta defining rated cards saw zero play. Maybe stay away from the hyperboles and click-bait titles next time, to get a better discussion about your subject.

posted a message on Is there a way to build Big Priest without Y'shaaraj?

Yes, Big Priest is possible without Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. He is strong, but not necessary to win games. Obsidian Statue is in my opinion the most important minion in that deck apart from Barnes.

Replace him with another big minion, or simply add a spell to not dilute your minion pool.
