I have literally the same recommendations as everyone else.
1. Get all your heroes to 10. Trump has come good basic decks for each class you can find on here.
2. Beat all expert AI. Gold is good.
3. Run arenas instead of buying packs. It will hone your skills and you stand a chance at making a profit. Really just 3 wins puts you even with buying a pack of cards (usually get 50g as a reward).
4. Find a dust efficient deck such as Zoo and run with it. D/E some of your cards that aren't as good to make new better cards. Cards I'd dust include: Velen, and Master of Disguise. Also DE any golden cards you get for the extra dust.
Tried this deck out to complete my 5 win warrior quest... have gone 5-0 and just loving it. Finally a Control Warrior deck I can play (since I don't have Alexstrasza)
It is the opposite of Board Control, Zoo doesn't have a "win condition" or finisher. Zoo finishes you off by keeping your minions off the board and chipping away at your life. With Leeroy in your hand you'll be holding a dead card as stated above until the very end, the point of Zoo is to swamp minions onto the board and not hold back in your hand.
I watch way more streams than I probably should. I enjoy Reynad, though sometimes I'm not sure why. He definitely helps you learn the game a lot better. Personally, the best education comes from watching players (Otter and Hafu do this often) streaming their coaching sessions with someone else. If you want to improve your ability to play those are the streams to watch. Also, http://www.twitch.tv/lumiyathehunter Lumiya is an extremely under rated, under the radar streamer who you can definitely learn a lot from if you're up when he's on.
9 mana and 4 cards to do 22 damage from a miracle rogue isn't exactly rocket science to figure out. The problem is not anticipating that the combo is going to be coming at you starting anywhere from turn 6. Memorize the damage chart and play accordingly (such as playing taunts, GET DOWN, etc.)
Depends what level you're at... looking for a quick ride to level 5 or so, pick a fast paced deck (shockadin is surprisingly strong) grinding those last few levels out? Miracle Rogue or maybe Handlock.

Are Sprints really necessary? I find that it becomes a dead card after a while

I like the idea behind the deck. How is Windspeaker working out for you?

Shockadin spanks Miracle and is an easy win against Handlock if you use equality right

The best current deck at the moment is also the one that you're best at playing.

I'm the same way, save up a bunch of gold, then break down and end up buying packs with it...
