People hate control because the decks take skill and intelligence to pilot.
That might have been the case in the past, but not so anymore. In a world where Warrior can get away with playing removal on curve and the value match is decided by `does my class have a hero card, yes - is it DR Boom? Win, No - lose.
Not calling you a liar, but isn't the max (4)? It used to be if your pick makes it to the semis and/or wins it doesn't matter, four players end up getting you the max of (4) packs.
I thought so aswell! But they upped the packs a little bit. I got 5 gor picking Viper.
It is just really unfun to play against certain types of control decks biggest offender that comes to my mind is Odd Warrior. I hate playing against that deck.
Odd Warrior was a deck that could simply get away with hero power and pass for the majority of the game. When playing any board centric or limited burn combo deck it felt like an autoloss. And the worst part is, playing a deck that beats it, doesnt feel satisfying because the Odd warrior is just sitting there letting themselves get OTKed it loses because it was such a stupidly polarising deck.
I personally dislike playing against decks that just have so much removal they can just throw them away that easy. Added frustration when they claim the deck is skillful while all they do is armour up, heal and removal on curve. They dont play to win, they play not to lose. Again like Odd Warrior, it was just removal and tank up.
In this meta that is less so the case but still an issue, mainly because Warrior got a lot of strong control cards in a class that already has strong control tools in the basic and classic set. I think the current Control Warrior is not so extreme as odd warrior, but it has an obscene amount of removal, it just has less ways to gain armour. I actually like bomb warrior a lot more to play against even in a control shell. Yes the bombs hurt, yes it rng dependent. But it feels like you are playing against an opponent that actually tries to do something. Control (or big) Shaman is less of an issue, as it doesnt have so much removal.
As for playing control myself. Archivist Eleysiana is the sole reason why I dont want to. I dont feel like doing 40 minute matches that boil down to did I get the right cards or did we hit the turn timer because we had to bounce it 2 times.
Hello, i'm going to update my thread after a month of RoS :)
85% of people who voted in my Poll eagerly stated that Warlock would be fine this expansion. Zoo will be strong as always they thought, Plot Twist Warlock has much potential they told me... The truth is that Zoo sucks and almost none play it, plot twist warlock is a meme and control/handlock is tier 5. LOOOL
34 days after this post was created i can say I WAS RIGHT and you were wrong.
Warlock sucks and people who believed it would be good now are playing other classes.
O wow this seems fun! Always been quite the Combo deck player. Just destroyed a Big Priest with this deck who had a turn 4 barnes. So that also helps contribute to the good feeling! ;)
In wild, playing some good old Jade Druid with some fresh new additions. Final boss for rank 5 some dude playing steal priest (bless their soul) Doing what Priest players tend to do "wow" at every chance they get when they do something funny. Even playing Geist on curve. "wow" when I didn't concede, because why would I? I knew I could very much beat that deck without going infinite. I did win, just by playing the tempo game, trying to find an opening for some burst and finishing them off. Ofcourse with a well timed "masterful and staggering" to give them a little banter back ;) To my opponent, it ain't over till the fat lady sings. Felt especially nice to win a match where a card is played that is simply a hate card against your archtype.

How do you lose to Warrior with this deck though?

You know, if you are being that greedy over 10 coins it is your fault.
