Blizzard destroys entire archetypes with no significant compensation to players.(4 free packs promotion was a trick to "hide" this issue)
Players crafted and invested money for building archetypes which are now dead by nerfs (2 weeks after expansion out!),
such balance change "costs" players significant damage in terms of dust which blizzard fail to compensate.
As a result the game becomes even more expensive, and there is a feeling for not respecting the players community

It’s worrying. Maly Druid is already powerful. Can’t draw Maly? Now you will, using Melon. Can’t get Twig off? Never mind, dump Maly and Floop if it is killed or silenced.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the expansion contains specific combo breaking cards (we have already seen one from Warlock, which turns a card in both hands into a demon). The designers are not dumb, they will realise that druid might be very OP if not checked.

Is anyone else surprised this isn’t a mech? If it was, with good support from magnetic, a control Paly with the legendary spell could be great!

Floop is insanely powerful, I love it! Apart from the Maly application, which is bonkers, you can use him for a second Togwaggle - play the first raw. Then, when they Ransom, you can Floop (Togwaggle), innervate/coin, Azalina.
In both applications, Maly and Togwaggle, it’s a perfect backup if they deal with your Twig. GREAT card.

Fun brawl, but I was (naively) hoping for a card back, after the talk of “rewards”. 🤨

I’m not going to preorder either. In fact, I think I’m done putting money into HS. It’s a personal decision though.
I don’t have any aspirations to be a high legend player, so I just play for fun. I preordered The Witchwood, enjoyed it for a week or so, when it was fresh, then got bored and stopped playing. And that’s pretty much the pattern for me, every expansion. Compared to AAA titles, that’s pretty poor value. But again, maybe it’s me...
I have saved some dust and gold, so I’ll craft a few new cards and have fun. Perhaps I should just craft the power cards and periodically mess around with Wild. I wonder if I’m growing out of HS though, so maybe it’s time to move on. Like Brode.

I own Tess and have lots of fun with it, so I will not disenchant it. However, it is undeniable (and very clearly outlined in the OP) that this is a genuine nerf. Tess should therefore have full dust value.

Being able to guarantee a certain draw is huge. E.g. Shinyfinder for Kingsbane Rogue.
