I really dont like the direction HS is going. This is another push towards a solitaire style race to pull of the combo first.

cluelesspug posted a message on Barnes needs a change [rant]Posted in: Wild FormatAs a Barnesless Big Priest player (currently rank 1, hoping for legend) I can tell you are knowledgeable about what a Barnes nerf would mean for the deck. I have noticed my winrate against aggressive decks is FAR lower than what a normal big priest's would be. I've tried teching cards like 1 or 2 Power Word: Glorys and second Greater Healing Potion, but nothing improves the aggro matchup better than Barnes.
So yes, I fully agree with you and your reasoning. Big Priest needs a weakness, and that should be aggro. The Barnesless version is a consistent control deck that is weak in the early game, whereas the Barnes version is a highroll deck that wants to end the game on turn 4, which is silly. -

Chantry posted a message on Stop nerfing non-problematic cards in wild to release new cards in standardPosted in: Card DiscussionBlizzard waits to nerf cards, there is a huge uproar about how absurd it is that they don't do something immediately about the "terrible meta due to obviously broken cards that anyone could have predicted would be overpowered."
Blizzard nerfs a card proactively, "Why do they change things that aren't even a problem yet? They're way too cautious!"
So they're supposed to do what, wait until something breaks the game and then have a patch ready by the next day? So they'd release a set and then patch the next week? Hmmm...
I think it's great that they're looking at interactions with older cards and saying "oops, no, lets keep this from ruining the fun before it happens." Thank you Blizzard!

Seriously. Naga Sea Witch creates a broken combo, and people complain that Blizzard didn't playtest, leading to a broken meta. Blizzard playtests and decides to avoid a similar situation with Shadowboxer, people complain that they didn't let the broken meta play out. People just can't be satisfied.

KingSevault posted a message on Stop nerfing non-problematic cards in wild to release new cards in standardPosted in: Card DiscussionCan you honestly say a 6-mana 2-card combo that destroys every minion and their deathrattle spawns, and leaves you with a Dreadsteed, wouldn't have been broken? As removal, it would be incredibly powerful, much stronger than Equality+Pyromancer. Also consider that a second defile will have the same effect for just two Mana at any point down the road. Also consider the fact that adding Knife Jugglers and Deathspeakers could create an OTK. Also consider all other interactions that could happen with future cards. It was obviously the right choice.
We haven't had time to see what could have happened with Shadowboxer, the way we have with Dreadsteed, but Blizzard has a good idea of what's coming in the next half-dozen expansions. They have a lot more information than us, so let's leave the coffee to the experts.

Variety thats all it needs.

Bbbbbbbbbbb posted a message on Tess Greymane is Not Disenchantable for Full Value, Clearly a Mistake, Right? [UPDATE]Posted in: NewsI am dangerously close to quitting this game. As someone who does not spend money anymore on this game no matter what I craft only rogue cards. Since Tess was going to be a fun card to play I crafted her golden. Now she sucked pretty bad because of the thief mechanic. She does not replay anything she summons cards. So choose one minions are the base stats not the chosen played version. No battlecries are played. Always get unplayable cards which clog up my hand. Rogue vs rogue is just concede. I was used to playing fun decks above rank 5. Now I struggle to even play a game vs Paladin mage hunter shaman or Druid. Since thief rogue really gets extremely bad cards. Then they nerf a bad card so now I can’t play any cards that could possibly target my minions. But fuck me right I only spend my most valuable resource on this game and that is my time. It is not free blizzard. Fix your stupid game ffs.

Lightspoon posted a message on Any use for Ysera in standard?Posted in: Card DiscussionQuote from arpitduelist >>400 dust. Even cards like Tinkmaster Overspark see more play than her.
Are you new to HS? Ysera is a good evergreen control tool that every now and then come back into the meta, also with Dragon tag. Advising to dust her is just plain stupid and wrong.

This has to be the best looking card back they have ever released. Can't wait for this one myself!

it summons a 0 cost minion as its based on the cost of the spell itself.
