Just opened a golden Alexstraza and a golden Counterspell from my Brawl pack. And I already had both golds. dat dusssst doe

So this didn't happen during actual gameplay but it was just a great moment for me and a 50/50 salt/pepper moment for my friend.

Last year for xmas the guy that got me into HS gave me a pack voucher. Like a irl cardboard pack with a scratchoff code to redeem for a single classic pack in game. I entered the code and opened it right there so he could see what I got and it was a Gold Grom!!

He was one of the last gold cards I needed to complete my old full gold control warrior deck. Part of me wonders if there was a modifier applied to the pack rng since it was a promo item because I'm not usually that lucky lol

I accidentally crafted a golden Raza. He looks cooler than I expected and I get a fair amount of use out of him, but at the time I was counting on that extra 1600 to make another legi I needed from the set so it was really upsetting.

If you hadn't noticed, Blizzard does not (and should not) want to make it easier for free players to improve their collections. The only reason the game is free is so you can try it out and become hooked. Once you're emotionally invested enough to want a better collection, you're supposed to buy cards with cash.

Feeding your dust addiction with more free dust would be pointless from Blizzard's standpoint, and a very bad business model.

Note that I really don't think there's anything wrong with the way this all works. It's the same principle as handing out free samples at the grocery store. It's not normal for shoppers to expect to fulfill their daily nutritional needs off of free samples, and it's illogical to think Blizzard would let you do something similar in Hearthstone.

i had Darkbomb in my hand. I top deck Leeroy Jenkins , it was Lethal!!! i was so excited that i inmediately used the darkbomb on the taunting minion without realizing that leeroy would summon a whelp for my opponent .....he had a  knife juggler.....i knew it was a 50-50.

the knife ended up hitting my face

 When they moved Conceal, Sylvanas, Rag, Azure Drake, and Power Overwhelming to hallf of fame they credited you the dust value of the cards specificaly to discourage players from DEing them. They even said so in the patch notes. I got like 9k dust from that.

Those cards were given special treatment because they were still playable in Wild, so Wild players wouldn't feel bad when every Standard player got 9k disenchant dust but they got nothing because they still needed those cards. They even took special care to not give anything extra to players with more than one copy, because they obviously want you to be using the disenchant feature to get rid of unnecessary cards :)
