Quote from TokiWoTomare >>This is literally said every single time a new expansion drops. I'm getting tired of it. I don't mean to demean you in any way, but this is repeated every single time a new expansion releases. Every expansion is the worst it's ever been. I've been playing since Blackrock Mountain and missed Saviors of Uldum/Descent of Dragons only. In my experience, this expansion is probably more fun for me than Ashes ever was. And just about everyone can agree that Ashes of Outland was probably the worst experience by far.
I have never said it before.
Nor ever seriously considered quitting the game.
This is different, at least for me.

Aggro has always been king and will always be - because the target market for the game is mostly kids playing CS:GO and similar (i.e. fast stuff, just like aggro), with the added benefit that those not having enough time to play the game can also get more games in.
And I deeply hate Blizzard for this line of thought and their decisions. I'd much rather have 1 really good game in 20 minutes(even when losing due to my mistakes, NOT stupid retarded randomness and powercreeping), than play 4-5 meaningless games in that time, obviously still decided by stupid extreme randomness (way beyond just the card draw one).
I know, i know, not all of you think or feel as i do. Unfortunately, the way the game is designed has never showed us "the other side of the coin" and we are just used to aggro being the best choice no matter if it's able to be countered or not, due to the high number of games in the same amount of time. The problem is that the rest of us don't really have a viable choice - i'd really love to be able to play long and meaningful games, irrespective of their result, and still feel that i'm accomplishing something and having fun, etc.
Yet, that's not really possible. Every new expansion is the same shit over and over again. Demon hunter is the epitome of aggro. Mana cheating and cost cheating have plagued this game for a long a time and will continue to do so, just so teenagers can get their endorphin spike and continue playing this shit instead of buying condoms and playing with their girlfriends.
I'm sick of you, Blizzard, really sick. Have been since Brode decided to do these things, and will continue to be until you find a proper game designer that can think outside the box and change the focus/target of the game to something more meaningful.

The game just needs a few more early turn board clears per class is all if they put in a few per class it would help alot with this. Basically you need more lightning storm effects in the 3 mana range like 3 mana deal 3 with a down side. Instead of 2 overload i feel lightning storm needs an overload reduction to 1. But the game needs a similar effect for other classes in the same range for wild. Like warrior has several but no good finishers in wild. Priest has an effect but its only 2 damage you really need a 3 damage effect at 3-4 mana to be good against those boards. Priest would be ok if they made more good effects with promoting that mid range dragon build. Which i feel its sad while the deck was good at one point dragon priest is just bad in wild. It would be nice to see a resurgence of dragon priest in a mid range build for wild. Warrior needs some actual finishers in wild and more ways to stall out the game till they can do that. Rogue / Demonhunter in general need buffs in wild as does shaman control. I think in general the game itself needs more control options for players that dont feel like you just lose the game if you miss on a single attempt to hit combo decks as well or that weaken you so heavy vs aggro decks. Like dirty rat is a great mechanic but same time if you run into a game vs big priest a dirty rat is just a card you cant play and eventually you have to because your hand gets over loaded in most cases.

Quote from CanibalPenguim >>Unfortunately in HS you need to choose between having fun or climbing ladder, the most fun i have playing hearthstone is in casual, any deck can win, you don't face the same shit over and over again (secret mage, warlock, aggro), but some people only enjoy playing the game if it means climbing the ladder and reaching the highest rank they can, because everyone has their playstyle and aggro is the fastest and easiest way to climb ladder, as someone who plays 1-4 matches a day casual seems to be the best mode for me
I think there should be a system incentivising playing off meta decks i.e. those including less-played cards. Each card could have a score based on popularity and then that could translate into greater experience gains or something else to encourage experimentation. They will not do it, not after they started introducing battle-ready decks but it would be a great way of rewarding experimentation.

Control decks are so weak in this meta.

It's sad because i cant even suggest you to play Standard cus it's doomed too. lol

Warlock is unplayable, you need to play Paladin to win.

Quote from yepapapepeap >>playing tier 1 decks and getting legend is not impressive
When people make comments like this it makes me think you're the type of person who sends friend requests just to tell them that you wish their mother dies of cancer.
if it eases your mind I can tell you that I never add anyone in this game anymore since there is nothing to talk about because it has become a damn bear skillless rng fiesta...
and you sound super soft

can they fucking nerf palatards already and buff shadowform + Soothsayer's Caravan to 1 mana for meme priest to work???

Yes. Print that card please. Destroy quest. Perfect. Too damned bad if people don’t like it. The sooner we can get back to actually PLAYING the game the better. Can’t get away from quests in any game mode. I’m so sick of them. They are extremely easy to pop off and literally require no cognitive input whatsoever in any way, shape or form.

This deck is impossible to counter in wild. I stole multiple boars with sylvanas, silenced some, etc, etc. doesn’t matter. They just use @#$&* spells to get them back then use that broken Raise the dead card anyways. Why is this deck allowed to do this? Why is your mana reduced to one? Don’t we have enough moron proof "sorry I win and you can’t interact or stop me" decks already? Seems we do with Mage and Warlock causing misery everywhere. Just eliminate OTKs, quests and other shenanigans from the game and let’s play the right way. If normal play is too hard for certain players then try checkers.

It’s so easy to spot the abusers of broken decks. Their mask slips off every time. They’ll point to some worthless statistic on some garage operation website to "prove" their point or as usual they attack you with the tried and true "git gud". Rich stuff. That’s what bad players do though. They are scared that their auto pilot, broken deck will get nerfed and it’s making them nervous since they can’t win any other way.
Hearthstone has had some expansions that are better than others. That always happens. But this one IS putrid. It just promotes and actually forces one to play solitaire or hyper aggro. That’s IT. No midrange, no minion based decks at all, zero control or even later game decks. Hell, I’d argue that even tempo decks are mostly useless too since there’s no way to out tempo a deck that only draws cards and chucks spells at your face. Or, even funnier, chucks spells at their OWN face. What a monumental joke.

Lemme guess….the stats thrown up are from a tiny subset of players at high legend or whatever? Couldn’t care less. The decks existence is wrecking the game. Very much like the original caverns core quest rogue did. Win rates do NOT mean a damned thing when a deck is this abusive towards so many other decks. You should know better. No more zero cost anything. Problem solved. Let’s get back to actually playing the game and fighting for the board instead of these moron proof "draw your entire deck by turn 6 and win" crap.

Skill? In Hearthstone? Maybe in Bronze it has something to do with game outcomes, sometimes. But once you get to anywhere near Platinum or especially Diamond..... it is 100% purely based on matchup and draw luck. The decks are too cancerous and brain-dead at those levels. There are NO misplays. You cant misplay when you dont get the fucking cards you need. Or your opponent barfs their hand on board with 40/40 worth of stats every turn. Its way too polarizing. I should know. Im "stuck" at the D2/D3 level because I refuse to play cancer decks. so, I win the good matchups and always lose the bad ones.
Skill my ass. People just say that top make themselves feel better and to remove guilt about getting legend with totally broken and brain-dead decks. Please. We're not fooled there, big champ. Idiots.
1
Agreed - its 100% brainless and does work. But, mind you - the DECK gets legend and climbs, NOT the player. If people are good with that then go for it. But you didnt do anything to contribute. Just clarifying that fact.

I cannot believe how EASY aggro has it in this game. Board clears dont work unless you have like 10 of them that also remove divine shields too. I just dont get it. Why do these decks constantly have such easy and cheap buffs ready to go turn after turn. I thought a board clear was supposed to "calm" things down for at least a turn? No? I mean, nothing helps. Nothing. Its worse in Wild of course. It just sucks that what are supposed to be counters to or at least cards that slow things down a bit are 100% useless. Taunts? Useless. Kahrtut? Junk. Reno Jackson? Great - heal back to 30 but next turn facing down a board of like 40/40 stats. You never have a chance to get anything going of your own whatsoever. Even a midrange deck is an automatic loss to any of these "full board with huge stats" aggro decks.
Zephyrs? Useless. Even if he pulls a full board clear..... next turn? 40/40 board again. Now what? Its just awful that we cant really advance with any decks other than this type of stuff. My Reno Hunter got me comfortably to D4/D5 but its nothing now but the try-hards and 4th graders milking it. Geesh. This isnt fun. Why cant we get some legit help against these decks? Like raise the cost of their buffs and get rid of divine shield. Something? Please?
2
The only thing? Hardly. Lets review:
Now, here is the deal: Those decks would be OK IF the game gave us a legit, reasonable way to counter them. But they dont. Any counters that do exist are horrible cards, too expensive, dont really help or they totally cripple your other match-ups. Thats what ruins Wild mode. Its fine to have some crazy decks but give us a real way to screw them up. These are things to fix wild:
Wild needs some work, for sure. Im sick of games being decided after the first few turns or the matchup screen. There is NO skill involved in any of this either. Its 100% matchup and then pure early draw based. That decides every game from D5 on down.

Standard is garbage. What meta is greener?
1
I thought miracle/secret rogue was a decent deck in standard. Guess not. It loses hard to Paladin, Huntard & Mage. Like 100% loss rate. It cant put any early pressure on and relies on gimmicky draw combos to "win". Maybe Im missing something but the version with Hanar, Kazakus & that 8 damage or heal dragon is useless.
