Ahh. We value cards differently. I value them based on their raw value. You seem to value cards based on their status in the current meta. In that case, I might argue that Darnassus Aspirant is the best in the current meta. Maybe I was a bit biased about Varian Wrynn since I got a golden version of him in my first TGT pack but yeah, he is still one of the best cards in the expansion.

    Cards better than Varian Wrynn:

    Rhonin
    Chillmaw
    Mysterious Challenger
    Mukla's Champion
    Dreadsteed

I could go on. Varian is fun to play, but he's not that good. Usually you're already winning and you get a good draw, most of the time absolute overkill. Often if you're losing enough that Varian's gonna help you, you often still lose anyway because nothing in your deck was going to save you anyway. Sometimes you're behind and you play him and get an fucking awesome draw, but that's sometimes, he's not nearly consistent enough to rely on.

All the other cards I've listed however, are consistent and provide better value than Wrynn except on his best draws. Even in raw value these cards are better (unless you're just adding up the mana to get your value which I would say is a mistake).

Varian Wyrnn is the best card in the TGT expansion so that really counts.

I can't tell if you're trolling or not.

Yeah just craft the cards you need and start going for GVG and TGT. You'll be more likely to get the commons/rares you need from those expansions pretty quick and you can use excess dust to save for the Classic cards.

I am fairly certain Blizzard have said in regards to other games like Diablo that they do not want to introduce gambling features in their games.

posted a message on Control Warrior is Broken. Here's Why.

Hi there, I am ForecastWeatherMan and today I'm going to start a thread on why I think control warrior is broken. Control warrior is broken for four primary reasons at the moment in addition to their already broken late game.

    1. Varian Wrynn

This card single handedly wins the game for warrior vs any matchup bar another control warrior. Pulling Rag, Ysera and drawing a spell seems to be the norm when i see this card.

    2. Justicar Trueheart

This card is what makes the first card so infuriating in the first place. By playing Justicar first before Varian, you allow yourself to have more armour to counter what should be your opponent's late game damage. The late game damage being how you are meant to counter the Varian Wrynn in the first place: Killing the warrior. So if you cant burn through the armour BEFORE Varian drops, how are you supposed to win?

    3. Tonnes of Removal.

Warrior has quite the number of removals at their disposal these days. Including: Shield Slam, Execute, Bash, Brawl, Revenge, Whirlwind, Fiery War Axe, and Death's Bite. Occasionally Baron Geddon. Getting something to stick to the board early game Pre-Justicar is difficult at best. Even so, their removal can clean it up, giving the warrior a easy path to out lasting their opponent.

    4. Other Classes Cant do Enough Damage

Its extraordinarily hard to kill a control warrior these days with any class. Period. With all of the removal to cover minions, and enough armour to cover burn spells there is little if anything players can do to beat them. The closest thing you can get is playing Patron Warrior and hoping the control warrior screws up enough to let you combo them. Or control priest - maybe.

tl;dr: Control warrior is broken because of the combo of Varian Wrynn, Justicar Trueheart, and exceptional early game removal making it so that it is extremely difficult for the opponent to beat them at any point in the game. The only weakness is that its younger brother, Patron warrior, is seen as the more popular of the two.

    1. No. As someone who's played a lot of this deck recently (see sig) I can tell you that Varian does not work all the time. Probably not even half the time. Yes, he can be a fantastic card if you hit the right draws but he is absolutely not OP. You waste a whole turn sometimes for bugger all. He can lose you tempo instead of gaining it depending on the card draw.

    2. If you haven't killed a CW by turn 10, you should expect to be in trouble regardless of whether they've dropped Justicar or not. I don't even run Justicar and I'm often at 25+ armor at turn 10. Justicar isn't a problem.

    3. The only hard removal Warrior has is execute. Every other card has a draw back of some kind or another. To use our weapons we have to hurt ourselves a lot of the time. To use shield slam, we have to have armor. Bash is the only serious direct damage spell we have.

    4. Yeah right. Mech Mage, Tempo Mage, Face Hunter, Secret Pally, Handlock and Patron all smash CW unless you get good draws and don't make any misplays. Dragon Priest is also very hard to counter if they get the right draws early game.

There is nothing at all wrong with Control Warrior. It's a tier 2 deck for a reason - lots of decks beat it and it's not nearly as optimized as something like Patron.

This game is just like MTG, pay to win or spend countless hours grinding to get semi-decent cards. Note: I'm not calling the game bad, I love it, but dlc is pretty much a must have and it's hard for a new player to get up to speed without some money invested.

Tell me where I can get free Magic cards by 'grinding'.... O.o

It isn't pay to win. Pay to win is specifically when people who pay are given items that influence the outcome of the game that people who are playing for free do not have access to. There are no cards in Hearthstone that you cannot access for free, so there is no pay to win involved in this game.

Pay to advance would be the correct term.

I've put over $500 into Hearthstone. Have all the best cards, play pretty much any deck I feel like and I can still only get to about rank 9. If that doesn't illustrate that this game isn't pay to win I don't know what does.

Just started playing Hearthstone tonight, I've played a few times here and there and friend's homes, but this is my first time playing on my own. I've played TCGs before, mostly MTG so I feel I'm somewhat familiar with the gameplay. But I'd love any advice any seasoned played could give someone that's just starting out. Thanks a lot in advance

For unlocking packs, save your money for Arena runs. You get more value out of an arena run, especially if you get +3 wins than you do from buying packs with gold.

I like Saarad in my Tempo Mage. Basically if you can get the correct draws then he just feeds spells to your flamewalkers/antonidas. Won a few games so far, not from the spells drawn but just from the fact that I had those extra spells in my hand to play for flamewalker value.

Yep totally agree with the above poster. Power Word: Shield. I don't run 2 lightbombs, but I feel like you need at the very minimum 1 so that you can recover board control after turn 6.

posted a message on Can we have an 'Automatic End Turn' option?
    Quote from Mulgorer jump

I think it would be very much reasonable to make the game automatically end a player's turn if he/she has no possible moves to make - 0 mana being left (with no 0 mana spells or minions in hand) and all minions having attacked. What do you think?

I wouldn't be opposed to it being an option that you could enable if you wanted, but I wouldn't like it to be forced.

I disagree. I play CW and DP mostly and find that the majority of my games go well past turn 10. Face Hunter and Secret Pally being the exception.

I think there's enough content that they probably won't go down that route any time soon. However I'd definitely not be opposed to seeing some awesome StarCraft or Diablo content!
