posted a message on If these changes don't work...

If these changes are as ineffective as many people believe them to be, and we continue to be in a druid heavy meta(every game I played from ranks 8-5 last season were druid), will Blizzard make any additional adjustments?

I'm sure we can all agree if druid's play rate/win rate does go down that they won't change anything, but if they don't, or if they go up, as many people believe nerfing it's competition will cause us to see more druid, do we think they will wait for the next expansion?

posted a message on Why UI is unlikely to get nerfed

I'm thinking it will be a UI nerf and innervate to rotate out. Although.... in one of those interviews that always seem to make them look incompetent, they did say that UI wasn't the reason for druids being so strong.... I think it's part of the reason but not all of it

I haven't read through this entire thread, so someone very well may have said this already. But with better balance comes more variety and an increase in viability of cards that don't currently see play. In this scenario, it actually increases the value of a pack as the odds of getting useless cards decreases. Simultaneously bettering the experience for free2play gamers and those who spend money at the same time.

Balance has and will continue to be a huge issue with hearthstone for a variety of reasons and although I may not necessarily boycott the game, because I do enjoy it, it certainly will and has influenced the amount of time and thus the amount of money I will put into the game.

Blizzard, please start balancing your game instead of sitting on your high horse telling us that "druid isn't a problem" and that "UI isn't a problem". We

**Edit - He misplayed on turn 8 by playing the giant first.  But I honestly don't think that would have saved him...
As pointed out above, leaving Auctioneer alive is suicide. Daring reporter had 1 attack more and would grow, but Auctioneer wins the game alone, so he didn't go all that well. Either way, you don't need my approval man, if you enjoy playing this way it is perfectly fine as I stated previous!

I used to hate playing against miracle, but ever since Conceal rotated out, I actually enjoy playing against it.

Big VanCleef can be soul crushing, but it's a high risk play, and far from being an autowin.

    And what about mages?

Every single archetype since dawn of HS has been either uninteractive, featured an unhealthy amount of RNG, or both.

There has never been an uninteractive Mage deck in the history of Hearthstone. Unhealthy amounts of RNG? Yes, Uninteractive? No.
Oh c'mon, if you played against a freeze mage a couple expansions ago, your board would be frozen every turn, in addition to playing secrets that prevent them from dying and often discovering more secrets that prevent them from dying lol. Additionally, because of the lack of effective neutral or class healing, rogue and Hunter can be straight up burned down with fireballs and frost bolts turn after turn without the ability to do much of anything about it

posted a message on The problem with Miricale Rogue

It's unfortunate that rogue has got the shaft in the prior few releases. Miracle has gotten a couple cards here and there but they often seem to be too over costed or under-statted. Now, I've argued with a few of my friends about this in the past and just because c certain rogue cards see play does not make them "good". Shaku and Sherazin are perfect examples, Sherazin is definitely better than shaku but they already pale in comparison to Edwin and then even more so when you look at a legendary like Tirion Fordring. But the problem seems to be a lack of options. I've been a rogue main since the gvg release and i still miss the oil rogue play style. We only have miracle and unlike many other decks, since ours is so synergy oriented, you don't have enough parts to swap out in exchange for tech cards or anything like that. Fitting black knight or eater of secrets seems to bog down miracle rogue in the worst of ways. However, I don't always think this is a rogue problem as much as it is evident of the hypocrisy and general shoddiness of blizzard's concept of both balance and class identity. In my opinion, it's fine that rogue doesn't have class taunts or heals but they should have burst and they should have card draw, features that simulate a cut throat or pick pocket in a card game pretty well. But other classes, in recent memory have had no thematic weaknesses. Druid has their ramp and prior also shared a weakness to wide boards. No longer is that the case thanks to a combination of tempo ramp cards like Jade blossom, mire keeper, and innervate making them able to intercept wide boards with early spreading plague or double swipes.

Okay, I'm a little drunk right now, so this may be a chaotic mix of some good points and some complaining, but I just think blizzard really, really needs to take a look at EVERY class and attempt to balance the basic and classic sets towards a specific class identity with a strength and weakness considered in the process. Supposedly, rogue is supposed to be the card draw class, yet that identity seems to primarily come from synergy with auctioneer (a neutral), we have Sprint and when you compare it to nourish or even worse yet to UI. It's not even close. Okay okay, yes we have prep, but you can't prints shitty cards that rely entirely on synergy with another card to be playable. It really just doesn't make any sense. It's as if the rogue spells are all nerfed because of the existence of preparation. Isn't prep supposed to be a reward for a card that is essentially "do nothing unless you have a spell to play with it". The same mentality that went into that so called "balance" was never considered when they printed the strongest 10 Mana card ever for the class that will get there faster than anyone else. Why isn't UI nerfed to compensate for the fact that it will be played on turn 5 or 6? Fuck you blizzard.

Alright, angry drunk rogue fanboy rant over.

posted a message on What class thinks needs a buff? What class do you thinks needs a nerf?

I feel like this may be an obvious statement, but this is what happens when blizzard releases a bunch of strong playable cards for ONE class and far less for the others. UI and spreading plague can fit into any single druid deck where conversely blizzard has released burgle cards for rogue instead of giving up on it. I mean, ethereal peddler doesn't even function in a mirror match for whatever reason. Blizzard needs to start creating cards that support new deck archetypes in a flexible manner, even if it's just from appropriately appraising their power level (poison shot for Hunter anyone?). Additionally, classes need cards released that suit their strengths. The rogue death Knight being 9 Mana is almost like Anub'arak being released for the class also at 9 Mana. Rogue isn't currently great in the late game so why release cards for the late game?druid meanwhile, seems to have not had their ramp taken into consideration when releasing their hero, or giving them a card with 19 Mana worth of value for 10. It's problematic, and it's only made worse by blizzard's habit of waiting months to do anything. And we all KNOW cards will only be nerfed. They will not be buffing any cards that don't see play. Guess that means that all of us rogue and Hunter mains will just have to suck it up until next expansion because our bad cards are staying bad...

Miracle has kind of been gutted as you've pointed it out. While stuff like a really high roll Edwin can feel unfair, it's by no means unbeatable, and they simply don't have the tools to draw their entire deck consistently or burst you down from a ridiculous amount of health anymore.

I enjoy playing it, and have no issue playing against it, it feels like a balanced deck.

I definitely agree, as a rogue main myself. So do you guys often see the hate directed towards rogue and its cards by members of this community? If so, why do you think so many players dislike rogue?

posted a message on Playing vs Miracle feels bad?

Hey guys, mostly a new poster here, but out of curiosity, does the community feel like miracle rogue feels bad to play against? Every once in a while, when I am scrolling around on the forums I will see members saying cards like edwin, prep, or gadgetzan auctioneer need to go. Now, Blizzard already removed conceal during a span of time where miracle was not a tier 1 deck already and removing any of those other cards would probably kill rogue as a class. Currently, I don't even see many rogues, nor have during the last expansion (post Caverns nerf), the last time miracle was tier 1 was when it could abuse small time buccaneer, and that was really exclusively vs classes that weren't using it and couldn't use it more aggressively than miracle (shaman and warrior). Yet, I still see so much hate for rogue and miracle in particular, a class that seems very polarizing on the forums. People either believe rogue tends to get shafted with low power card releases, card removals (conceal, azure drake), or card nerfs (blade flurry rip), where the other side seems to want to see rogue's primary and nearly exclusive deck continually dismantled.
How do you guys feel about playing vs miracle or maybe just rogue in general? Does it feel toxic vs other decks that have been left untouched? Why do you believe it is so polarizing, or at least seems that way?

Gang Up or Conceal. Yeah, Conceal is busted but so is turn one Vicious Fledgling, 10 mana do everythings and taking an extra turn. If only us rogues had Conceal, we could purge this ladder of druids.

Yeah, I'm still bothered by Conceal being gone. I'd rather they nerfed the card than HOF'ing it. Maybe just being a 1 mana "Give a minion stealth until next turn" instead of all.
I was always butt hurt (as a rogue player lol) about Blizzard's seeming vendetta against rogue. I'm not arguing that blade flurry and conceal and stuff weren't strong cards, but it always seemed that they let other cards go while removing the most potent cards from rogue. With that being said, conceal or azure Drake would be my pick

People are using whine threads like these to delegitemize  arguments concerning the meta-warping effects of Druid. Just saiyan

For sure, you can definitely tell the druid players lol. The problem obviously is that druid can extend quickly with ramp and then right into an Ultimate infestation which lacks the weakness of other card draw effects like Sprint. Being that you don't sacrifice the ability to defend yourself the turn you draw, instead you kill a minion, play a minion, and heal for 5 basically a dream miracle rogue turn in 1 card. Additionally, to complain about Raza priest is silly because the deck tends to lack in consistency and as such had weaknesses. But druid with spreading plague and ultimate infestation tightening up most of the vulnerabilities druid should have

It's a super strong class with the miracle variety and the jade version is in need of optimization. That said, miracle is the only competitive archetype rogue has atm and it's stale. Blizzard has failed to provide rogue an exciting new deck to play.

I just wish they would allow rogue to have a bursty, combo based deck, that didn't need to rely on auctioneer. Like old oil rogue.

Blade flurry probably wouldn't be broken today because rogue lacks weapon buffs they had around the time oil rogue was popular (tinkerer's sharp sword oil was so cool). The idea for nerfing the hell out of blade flurry was to open design space for weapons and weapon buffs... and then they haven't printed a playable weapon or buff until shadow blade. Leeching poison should be 1 mana, and although I think shadow blade is cool, it should have also been a 1 mana buff card for rogue's hero power as it better supports a combo play style and synergy with gadgetzan. Additionally, would have been cool to see doomerang able to go face... but we aren't mages so I guess that's not allowed xD
