posted a message on Why is no one using hunter decks on the tournment?

Hunter decks have been very linear and one-dimensional for a while now. KFT didn't add much for them either. Deathstalker Rexxar is a really interesting card and build-a-beast is a ton of fun, but it hasn't done much to help the class unfortunately. As such, it isn't particularly surprising that no one brought a hunter deck =/

My advice is to never disenchant wild cards unless they're trash tier. I DEd my Naxx legendaries and regret it every time I log in.

This. I'd avoid dusting anything for the time being.
3k dust is a lot to invest in a deck that Blizz have said is on their radar and is clearly very oppressive right now. I'd avoid crafting it personally.

posted a message on favourite decks of all time?

Zoolock was my first love but I've always had a soft spot for dragon decks - I loved my dragon pally, play my dragon warrior in Wild (it eats pirate warriors alive) and still enjoy playing my dragon priest in standard unranked.

I also enjoyed the silliness of C'Thun + Evolve shaman for the very brief time that the deck existed. Really silly to drop Twin Emperor Vek'lor plus evolve on the same turn for double 8-drops...or triple 8-drops if you managed to have Brann Bronzebeard in play as well!

    Quote from iandakar >>
The fate of PO, Shredder, and Boom in wild is a perhaps a good example of why nerfing isn't always required.  Those cards aren't dominating the wild meta like they were during pre-rotation.  Same goes for decks like secret paladin.  The power level there is to the point where they now fit in naturally.
Wild is NOT a dumping ground for OP cards. It's a ground for overUSED cards, cards that aren't ruining the meta but have been played so often that they've become boring.  If a card is truly OP then it's not pushed to wild but instead nerfed.  Which is why Blizzard didn't listen to teh folks who wanted Yogg moved to wild untouched and why they aren't going to push innervate into wild as is.
As far as staples in decks, blizzard has a problem with Evergreen decks, decks that rely mostly on Classic and, thus, can exist no matter the rotation.  They said that the dream is for any top tier deck to use no more than 10 classic cards, with none of them KEY to keeping the deck alive.  Thus every deck has a 2 year lifespan before it has to go away (secret paladin) or radically change itself.
So It's probably more prudent to focus less on CARDS that are use din every deck but decks that rely on or consist too heavily on Classic/base.

I'll agree that over-used cards in the evergreen set are a huge problem in HS, especially stuff like Fiery War Axe and Innervate - both of which have been mentioned in this thread, and the latter of which you mentioned that Iskar said they are keeping an eye on, which I for one am glad for. However, I disagree that focusing less on cards and more on decks is the right approach to balance - often times an archetype only is viable or sees frequent play thanks to a small subset of cards providing a ridiculously strong backbone for the archetype (see: Patron Warr, Huntertaker, Mysterious Challenger, the dark times of Shamanstone, and Jade Druid the current oppressive meta deck du jour). This is an issue that keeps coming up and needs to be addressed frankly.
You do bring up a good point that Dr 7 and Mysterious Challenger and shredder and suchlike aren't necessarily dominating the Wild meta, which is wonderful and refreshing. The point I was trying to get at earlier, however, is that these cards dominated the meta for much longer than they should have and more frequent minor balance passes would have helped the overall health of the game then. And they still will now.

Cant we just leave the cards that are going to rotate out alone?

Sure, let's continue the long-standing Hearthstone traditions of "don't bother with regular balance passes since these OP cards will just rotate out of Standard" and "keep Wild as a dumping ground" that are super healthy for the game and highly popular amongst the community. </s>
With some historical cards being brought up I'm surprised that Power Overwhelming, Piloted Shredder, and Dr. Boom haven't been mentioned yet. Going back to cards that are still in Standard, I think Flametongue Totem deserves a mention - it's a staple in token shaman and has seen a huge resurgence in popularity as of late.

posted a message on [F2P] Elemental Mage

I'd say -2Thunder Lizard and +2Bonemare; Bonemare is insaaaaaanely good especially in board-centric midrange decks (like this one).

Coldwraith seems like a potentially good addition. Maybe you could drop Frozen Clone since it doesn't seem like a particularly good card to me personally...but running some sort of secrets might be a good idea to play head games with your opponents.

posted a message on [WIP] Frozen Dragons

Unfortunately, not all of us can craft highlander priest. Including myself :)

I'm still playing my dragon priest in casual mode for quests. It performs rather well for a cheap-ish deck (the current version is about 2500 dust with 0 legendaries) though I'm not sure how well it'd do in ranked play:

[WIP] KFT Dragons - no legends!
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (22) Ability (8)
    Loading Collection

In my experience, it does struggle a bit versus pirate warr. Mass Dispel is almost an auto-win versus token aggro druid, but versus token evolve shaman you need to completely wipe the board by turn 5 or 6. Handlock/demonlock are food, hunters boil down to "do they have the DK in hand?" at lategame, and I haven't yet faced enough paladins or rogues to get a feel for how this does versus them yet.

posted a message on Best Legendaries of KOFT

The Lich King is a fairly safe craft IMO...but it's not a must-craft by any means. Especially since Bonemare exists and works just as well as - if not better than - it in a wide variety of midrange decks.

Most of the legends outside of the Death Knights this time around are frankly pretty underwhelming. Bloodreaver Gul'dan and Malfurion the Pestilent are must-crafts if you play warlock or druid, respectively, and the other DK cards all seem like they're reasonably powerful. TBH it feels like older legends are still a lot more powerful (Finja, the Flying Star, Sunkeeper Tarim, and Fandral Staghelm all come to mind) than what was introduced in KoFT though. Furthermore, druid players would benefit a lot more from investing their dust in the wildly-broken Ultimate Infestation instead of the DK at first IMO.

Just my 2 gold, of course, but in short the Lich King is definitely NOT a mandatory craft!

posted a message on DK uther question

As a proud owner of Uther of the Ebon Blade, I'd advice against crafting him for now. It's a fairly niche card atm; While the 5/3 lifesteal weapon is fantastic for survivability and burst damage, a bit of armor is always good, and the upgraded hero power with alternative win condition is potentially useful (even without exodia-style shenanigans it puts a lot of pressure on your opponent to keep the board clear) it's very slow and frankly not very strong atm. I use it instead of The Lich King in a midrange pally deck where it does alright but it is far from a crucial inclusion.

Wickerflame Burnbristle is used in just about every pally deck right now and is a much safer craft frankly.

posted a message on [WIP] Frozen Dragons

Bit of a delayed bump to this thread, but I think you really need 2xBonemare in this. I'm running them in my own dragon priest deck and they're wonderful. Another recommendation I have is 1xKabal Songstealer and/or 1xMass Dispel; Silence is pretty strong in the current meta and both have been extremely helpful cards in my limited testing.

I'm still trying to figure out the right amount of earlygame/anti-aggro tools in my list. I'm running dual potions of madness and SW:P along with 1xSpirit Lash to test it out since I've been seeing a lot of token decks...but I'm unsure if it's worth running without spell synergy cards like Lyra (who I sadly don't have) or Priest of the Feast or shadow visions.

As someone who got the warrior DK from the solo adventure, it makes me happy to see this deck!

One question though. Was Val'kyr Soulclaimer too slow of a card to be included here? It seems with all the whirlwind effects it would be a decent choice on paper thanks to its ability, but I'd guess the statline kept it out of this deck.
