posted a message on Ben Brode Leaves Blizzard Entertainment

Same...The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the post was ,,Wait...is it April 1st? ,, but sadly no :( . Brode was such a part of hearthstone...the new expack reveal streams will never be the same without him.

posted a message on 5 Cards that really need to get nerfed

    Quote from Dr_Scaphandre >>

However, this could be problematic with Hadronox, so I could nerf it some more to cost 8 mana as well, but I think that's a little extreme. I think this Deathrattle nerf would make it more fair, and Cube more situational instead of an auto include in these degenerate decks.

The whole op post is just a pile of salt ( although I do agree on Call to Arms and a little less harsh nerf on Spiteful Summoner ) but this bit is the funniest to me. So it seems that cards not only have to be situational in all decks....every card NEEDS to be situational in EVERY deck now ! Let's nerf Cube and make it situational in Cube decks ! xD

So let's go down the list this logic enables... Dragon's Fury is used in EVERY single BIg Spell Mage , let's nerf it and make it more situational instead of an auto include ! Baku the Mooneater is used in EVERY single Baku deck , let's nerf it so it's more situational in those decks ! Meat Wagon is used in every Meat Wagon deck , nerf it so it's not an auto include in those decks ! etc...

While the nerf seems at least reasonable ( you could still build different kinds of decks around the card ) the further proposed nerf of 8 mana is beyond ridiculous ( as opposed to ,,a little extreme,, ) . Even not nerfing the effect while making it 8 mana would make it one of the worst cards in game.

Carnivorous Cube doesn't need a nerf. The druid variant isn't even that powerful and it can be hard countered by Hex , Polymorph and even Tinkmaster Overspark since those add beasts that Witching Hour can ress instead of Hadronox . Those also help against demons in the warlock variant. Also..it's a lot harder for a warlock to cube anything if you destroy their Skull of the Man'ari . Or delete their Dark Pact with Skulking Geist . Learn to adapt instead of asking for nerfs every time something is powerful.

While the OP didn't give very good arguments I do agree.

I don't think you read the whole thing. If you did, please tell me what bad arguments I gave then?

,,Nerf Shudderwock? Why? It's not like it's the first OTK combo ever, is it? It's not even technically ONE Turn Kill. ,,

Shudderwock is not good enough atm to see a nerf. The fact that it isn't the first OTK combo deck ever doesn't have anything to with it. What if the Shudderwock deck was completely busted ( like 70% winrate and 50% ladder representation busted ) , the fact that Quest Mage existed before it doesn't mean it shouldn't be nerfed.

,,Nerf Baku Paladin/Hunter? Why? It's not the first extremely aggro oriented deck either, is it? ,,

Similar but it's a bit more debatable if those should be nerfed since they are actually good decks atm.

,,Nerf Cubelock? Why? They sure as hell get stomped by some aggro decks too, don't they? ,,

I agree that it shouldn't be nerfed but not because it gets beaten by aggro. Quest Rogue was also beaten by aggro even harder then Cubelock is now but it was really frustrating to play against it as anything but aggro so it got nerfed ( and I agreed with that one ) . Cubelock has counter decks ( and not just aggro ones ) and tech cards that help against it greatly and you don't feel helpless when you loose to it ( unless they get a god hand but such is the case with all strong decks ) . So that's why I think it shouldn't be nerfed.

Rather, intervention would be required to make the Standard format "fresh and exciting."

Call to Arms should probably cost 5-mana. Different builds of Aggro Paladin have had win-rates above 56% for over four months.

Possessed Lackey should probably cost 6-mana. Standard simply doesn't have enough tools for many classes to deal with early Big Guys.

Spiteful Summoner should probably cost 8-mana. Same as Possessed Lackey, the card is often equivalent to a 6-mana 12/12, give or take.

Thing is...all 3 cards you mentioned are from the Kobolds expansion and are pretty deck defining. Which means if Blizzard wanted to make every standard rotation completely fresh any deck defining cards from the 3rd expansion of the previous year would have to be nerfed if the decks are tier 1-2 . That means that the deck defining cards of any 3rd expansion in a year are far less valuable to players because they know that in a few months those cards will not matter any more. Why would anyone spend any money on that 3rd expansion then? Why would anyone spend their hard earned dust to make a cool deck that revolves around cards from the 3rd yearly expack when it will last so little ( compared to other expansions ) . What if you crafted 2x Carnivorous Cube and Skull of the Man'ari ( not knowing that Blizzard nerfs good 3rd expansion cards a few months later ) to play Cubelock and then Possessed Lackey gets nerfed and renders the deck unplayable ( or really bad ). You only get dust from Possessed Lackey so you are screwed . Even if you knew that Blizzard does this you would feel bad about not being able to play a deck that maybe you think is fun even if you had the dust, just because it is a really bad investment of dust to do so.
Another option is for Blizzard not to print any deck defining cards in the 3rd expansion but then the expack would be really boring.
So yeah...this is a good compromise. The rotation is still pretty refreshing but there are some decks that slip through it ( but those decks will 100% disappear the next time rotation comes ) . Nerfs on relatively new archetypes only when absolutely necessary.

While the OP didn't give very good arguments I do agree.

I played this game since beta and there were ALWAYS people that complained on the forums about ,,annoying / too powerful,, decks and asking for nerfs. Main targets are generally tier 1 decks ( any archetype ) and tier 2 ( aggro / OTK ) decks.

By now I see that it will never stop no matter what Blizzard does so yeah...I am also happy that Blizzard doesn't 100% listen to the forums, otherwise if you like a certain deck and it is tier 1-2 , it gets nerfed 1-2 months later and you don't get to enjoy it as much.

posted a message on Dean Ayala on Shudderwock: Revisiting the Topic Early Next Week

I agree with SClone. If such a deck exists in the meta you have so many games that end as soon as you see who your opponent is. That's stupid. And Cubelock doesn't ,,wreck,, aggro , it has like 60% winrate against it so It only wrecks mid range and there's been loads of decks in the past that wreck a specific archetype. Control Warlock wrecks aggro. Big Priest wrecks control...etc

But its NOT ok if a deck wrecks pretty much anything that's not aggro. This is mainly the reason that I don't like playing against OTK decks...I don't like playing aggro ( and even if I did, it's not SO fun getting free wins from OTK decks ) so it's pretty much hopeless. And that's where Dirty Rat came in...giving you hope in such match ups...but now that it rotated, OTK decks like this Shudderwock one are just unfair and I hope it ends up too inconsistent to be higher than tier 3 . If it ends up being better than that I hope it gets nerfed.

posted a message on New Neutral Minion - Voodoo Doll

Absolutely amazing. Both the flavor and the power.  Neutral so very versatile. These classes come to mind:

Druid: Always struggled with bad single target removal. This + Wrath can help with that

Warrior: Any whirlwind effect is great with this. Helps with no Execute problem in Odd warrior

Warlock: Can't set up that perfect Defile because of that one high health enemy minion? This solves that problem while also giving you the 1 hp activator.  Also great with Mortal Coil for an Assassinate .

Will see but I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being too versatile and got nerfed later xD

Eh...It's a Grim Necromancer for one less mana IF you trigger the effect... Since Grim Necromancer never saw play ( not even close ) I don't think this is good considering you have to trigger the effect so you probably play this on turn 4 / 5 and by then the 2/4 body is pretty bad.

Pretty disappointed overall in the 3 cards they revealed for warlock now...Bad and boring describe all of them pretty well if you ask me :(

posted a message on New Warlock Minion - Blood Witch

I hate the fact that this has vanilla stats even though the effect is only positive IF you have a synergy card in your hand AND can play it next turn   (except Lesser Amethyst Spellstone , you can keep that upgraded and use it later ) . The rest of the time you are playing a 4 mana 3/6 that damages you for some reason. You can also have the synergy cards in you hand but it gets killed before it can trigger at the start of your turn so was just a 4 mana 3/6.

And for now the cards that benefit from self damage are just not that strong ( except the Spellstone...which has enough support from good cards like Kobold Librarian / Hellfire so it doesn't need another bad one ) .

I do agree that warlock should not get super powerful cards this expack...but these 3 they just revealed seem intentionally unplayable unlike some other bad warlock cards ( like Lakkari Sacrifice / Renounce DarknessDreadsteed ... ) which feels bad.  At least make them interesting Blizzard...

posted a message on New Warlock Minion - Deathweb Spider

Eh...pretty disappointing. If you trigger the effect it's a Bloodworm with +2 health , but since Bloodworm was never played ( not even close ) I think that a +2 health one would barely be good enough...But you have to trigger the effect...so meh.

If you look at all the Lifesteal cards that exist atm...the only ones that get played are the ones that are spells / have taunt / charge so you can kinda ensure that you get some life from it...This one you can't...it can get silenced / removed / or you get killed before this can do anything for you.

Also..this kind of minion is best played on curve since your opponent has little chance to have drawn an answer at that point but the only way you can drop this on curve is with Blood Witch ( IF it doesn't get killed ) + you need lifesteal against aggro decks...aggro decks mostly try to kill you at early turns...so maybe you will not be able to play Blood Witch on 4 because you need to clear the board that turn. So the best case scenario for this card is really hard to achieve.

The only redeemable thing about it is that it has solid stats even if you don't trigger it's effect. Voted ,,playable,, just because of that
