Agreed. I really think the outrage is way out of proportion personally.
Blitzchung used an official Blizzard tournament to advertise his personal political stance. That is not acceptable and deserves a punishment whether his stance is ,,right,, or ,,wrong,, and Kibler did acknowledge this. People take this as Blizz saying ,,Ye we don't support freedom and human rights so you can't say that stuff on our broadcast,, which is obviously not true.
Maybe the penalty was too severe...but you can't expect a company to risk loosing millions of dollars from the China market just because of one player that broke the rules.
Why give the opponent a 1/1 when you can just kill the minion outright with Shadow Word: Death ? That's what Zephrys thinks at least...He doesn't know that the Big Priest opponent will probably ress it infinitely if not transformed.
Finally Blizz collected enough data on Barnes to nerf him...Hopefully it's enough to make Big Priest a fringe deck.
Luna's Pocket Galaxy and Extra Arms are back to being unplayable...but that's fine. We had a few months to have fun with these cards at least instead of them never seeing the light of play.
Conjurer's Calling is just a cost correction by Blizzard. It was obviously under costed at 3.
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is a pretty big nerf. Firstly...I don't think you can keep it any more in your opening hand against anything but a complete control matchup, which means you won't have it at all in as many games as before. And secondly...when you do play it you have way less mana to do anything else. Hopefully now it won't feel so bad to play against Control Warrior with a board control centric deck.
The card that makes Control Warrior unfair is no question Dr. Boom, Mad Genius . Any other good card they have is buffed exponentially when Boom is in play. Any mech that doesn't naturally have rush is overpowered when it does...and any mech that is good without rush is completely insane with it.
I think Blizzard severely underestimated how much indirect card buffs / additions would buff Boom. It was fine when it was released...Other classes had DKs too. But then other classes lost their hero cards , Omega Devastator happened , Beryllium Nullifier and Security Rover got buffed , SN1P-SN4P was added , Tomb Warden and Frightened Flunky who can discover it got added...
And now we are at this point where Boom is sitting at 67% MULLIGAN WINRATE according to hsreplay ( yes that means that if you get this 7 mana card in your OPENING HAND you have a 67% chance to win that game ) . Tha'ts the highest mulligan winrate card in that deck even though they have super good one drops like Town Crier and Eternium Rover.
It's a no brainer to nerf it...but how? 7 mana and 7 armor on play are a flavor thing...You could make the armor hero power give only 5 armor / make the 3dmg one random target / discover a mech --> get a random mech / the rush aura could affect only the 1st mech you play each turn...etc.
Thing is...if you picked one of those nerfs it would most definitely not be enough...but if you nerf enough things ( probably 3 or 4 ) to make it ok...it feels like butchering the card. So I think the best option is just to HoF it early like they did with Baku and Genn. In Wild it's completely fine as is and in Standard it won't be a nightmare to face a Control Warrior with a board centric deck.
Yes they should. You shouldn't avoid nerfing one toxic deck in fear of another one taking it's place. I don't think aggro would dominate anyway since there would surely be some Control Shaman or Highlander deck that's good against aggro...and even if aggro does take over at least there was some change and not constant hell whenever we que into Control Warrior with a board control centric deck.
Constantly getting value traded by overpowered rush mechs , warrior randomly getting armor hero power from Boom whenever you finally manage to set up lethal , ALWAYS having an answer to your board no matter how you build it
Whenever you play a deck that tries to take board control ( not just aggro )...it just leads to an endless loop of: you put stuff on board --> they kill it...until you run out of steam / cards in your deck / patience.
Normally I love playing with/against control. But not if it's win condition is ,, I will just kill whatever my opponent plays until they run out of stuff,, . Those are boring to play and toxic to play against.
This card is broken, especially in wild. I dont know what they were thinking... giving the class with best burn in the game another insane burn tool. Mage can now kill you at 30 hp from hand in standard without using the super awkward and mana ineficient Pyroblast. The card would still be good if it could only target minons but now its just toxic.

All around happy with these nerfs.

you go wide --> Brawl , Warpath , Plague of Wrath
you go high --> Shield Slam or one of the 4 Omega Devastators they discovered, oh and those also rush kill your other medium sized minion
you go medium --> Restless Mummy , Supercollider , or any rush mech has you covered.
Whenever you play a deck that tries to take board control ( not just aggro )...it just leads to an endless loop of: you put stuff on board --> they kill it...until you run out of steam / cards in your deck / patience.

Blizz totally timed their appearance in wow with the hs expack reveal haha. Reno looks a lot grumpier than usual.
