brilliant_gnome posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionQuote from xxhellfirexx3 >>Exactly so then why would we need jade druid in this game right now? it would be different if we were in those old days but we are not. control has been a small part of this game ever since standard started for the most part, and the most recent stats, of the old standard, before this expansion prove this.If anything this has been smorc/otk stone.and isnt a meta dominated by smorc the worst thing ever? that's a matter of opinion I guess. but our recent shaman stone meta was disgusting. It was a midrange meta and Control still hit close to 50% winrate, and you don't think they are OP?So, the average decks that don't dominate the meta are the ones that are OP?*scratches head in puzzlement* -

hillandder posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionI see a lot of variety and no card need nerf, much diferent when CotW are release and a lot of hunter start to abuse the card.
Jade Idol is a terrible card vs agressive decks, maybe bad vs midrange decks, is OP broken vs slow decks, because the card can be weak or OP is a balanced card, much diferent than CotW, that card before nerf is always OP.

Tze posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionSo you're telling me you're an aggro player and got lucky, kudos to you but there are some of us who play control decks and don't like to have a nearly 90% chance of losing.
If you're talking to me, I play all of the archetypes because I like having a balanced perspective and it keeps the game fresh (Control is probably my favorite though). I also like watching pros like Firebat and Justsaiyan play everything from Aggro to Fatigue because there's usually some excellent insight to get from seeing how people competing at a high level approach common matchups and situations. I also fully believe that people losing that matchup at nearly 90% are either still approaching the matchup incorrectly or simply trying to run a Fatigue build that's simply not going to win; Fatigue is a subset of Control, so I have no reason to feel like an entire archetype is dead for multiple reasons. Considering Dragon and C'Thun Warrior can be proactive Control shells, your strategy being 10% to win is entirely on your deck choice being a poor one.Blade Flurry was nerfed because Rogue was determined to not be a target for strong AoE. Judge as you wish, but it's in line with stated design intent. Master of Disguise was the definition of a design limitation, considering you could literally never print something that would be broken permanently stealthed and accessible by Rogue. Jade Idol is in a class that has a hard time fending off early aggression and Midrange pressure, and thus has a built-in counter for doing dirty things in the late game; it's not even remotely the same as Rogue's nerfs because the reasons for nerfing Jade Idol have been terrible so far. If countering fatigue was really a concern Jarraxus and Anyfin should be on the chopping block too. -

Tze posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionNow to be fair before I start, I've only FACED this deck once, and I was trolling with a hunter quest deck so obviously I lost. However my friend is running this deck, and come late game if she has few enough cards in her deck she can ENTIRELY fill her board using fandral gadgetzan with progressively larger minions in a single turn, leaving her opponent basically screwed if they can't board wipe. I think increasing the cards mana cost by 1 will make it manageable but not useless. However again I've never played against the deck seriously so idk how good it really is.
So in this situation her opponent did nothing to pressure her while she drew through her deck, and the proceeds to implement a combo that does nothing to impact the opposing board? I mean it's not to say it isn't strong, just that if your opponent isn't going to do anything to you there are a ton of combo decks that pretty much do equally strong things. This really doesn't indicate anything other than letting Jade Druid have all of the time in the world is a bad way to approach it.Now I get that you mentioned you haven't played against the deck, so I'm honestly not trying to judge, but this is pretty much why I genuinely believe people are being excessively thick about this; IF YOU LET COMBO DECKS HAVE INFINITE TIME, YOU WILL LOSE. It's not Jade Idol being broken here, they either drew the nuts or you simply spent the game hitting like a wet noodle. If it's the latter, maybe people should stop expecting next to 0 pressure to be viable?Other decks that will thank you for the free win when you don't apply pressure; Freeze Mage, Inner Fire Priest, Velen OTK Priest, Anyfin Paladin, C'Thun Rogue, Malygos Rogue, Malygos Druid, whatever the Kun OTK thing is that was mentioned earlier, Blood of the Ancient One in any deck, N'Zoth Rogue, Warlocks with Jarraxus, Warlocks with Leeroy burst... I'm sure there are probably others, but you get the point. Applying pressure is how you don't lose to the worlds greediest combos, this isn't a design issue it's people incorrectly assuming they need a piece of removal to deal with Golems instead of learning to play.Control decks with pressure? Handlock, C'Thun Warrior, N'Zoth anything basically, and Res Priest to name a few. Freeze Mage is probably effective but it's more burst than pressure IMO. Reno lists aren't kept from running early game and Midrange minions either, like Dragon Reno Priest or Renolock with Twilight Drake and Mountain Giant. This isn't hard guys, think a little bit. -

Voidium5 posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card Discussionif you play vs something you can't beat and wants it nerfed, try playing that "something", you may change your mind if you see the games from that "something's" perspective.

robert_fanr posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionI'm so sick of all this resident sleeper players complaining they can no longer just prevent the opponent from winning forever .
How do you think a freeze mage player feels when they face Control Warrior ?
Just because your favorite deck now has a bad match up does not mean that deck has to be nerfed to the ground .
You can just farm the horde of aggro decks out there and be happy about it .

UtilitiesINC posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionIts impossible to beat this shit with any late game oriented control deck like control warrior etc. because druid have literally unlimited amouth of cards and he summon bigger and bigger golems, in late game you just dont have answers. So this kind of deck made meta much more aggro because control just dont have chance to win against jade golems. Iam ok with jade shamans etc, but druid is a real problem right now.
you say impossible to win with control warrior when I've done it several times. Control and Fatigue decks are not entirely the same thing. I've also boasted a positive win rate with control priest and I don't think my decks are very refined. when you actually put in some ladder games you'll understand pirate warrior is more of a problem then jade druid, but it's to early to call any deck op. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Quest rogue is cancer.

You can also tell by the fact that it's under theorycraft. And it works well enough for me.

Good deck, but required upvotes to post a guide is a dick move.

Downvoting this solely due to the fact the only way this guy'll do a guide is if you upvote him.

Unless the druid has 30 hp + 1 armor, then the druid wins.
