I think a 3 drop that is at least 3/4, which summons two 1/1 and invoke is a little bit too much. It can easily be a 5/4 or more if you are playing some zoo deck.
LOL I like how you guys look at this card as if it was doing everthing in one round and you don't count the tempo loss in
I don’t under stand what you mean because it indeed summons two 21 rush and invoke twice the moment it is played. There is no tempo lost when you play 5 3-3 deal 4 which can be more powerful with minion buffs.
I really don’t understand what people are thinking. It seems as if blizzard introduced a button to every player that destroys all armor any time they want. You have to put this garbage in your deck. You have to draw it when you need it. And your opponent may as well build the armor again. It only punish decks that does nothing but armor and stall. Now when you are deck building or playing armor classes, you need to actually consider the slim chance of losing when your opponent did bring this garbage and you ONLY RELIES ON ARMOR. You don’t need to be super rely on armor to play control warrior and if you are to heavily relying on armor, you may as well bait this card. Pirate hate didn’t kill pirate warrior, secret hate didn’t kill secret mage/hunter/paladin. There are tons of weapon removal but weapons are still prevalent from meta to meta. 3000 armor Druid? Do you really want to bring a 5 5/5 into your wild deck just to counter that?
I am not sure if control warrior will hold up to the power/value spike in each other class. It highly depends on meta and what new tools are given to control warrior. Put that aside, many decks performs quite differently depending on your rank, region, time of playing etc... basically the dynamic environment you are facing each time you hit queue. So I won’t say control warrior has always been a superior deck than other warrior types.
That being said, I agree that Dr.Doom fits the control warrior theme and produce way more board control and value during the late game after you had a chance to spend 9 mana for 7 armor at some point.
That being said, I think the two hero cards have different purpose and should not be compared only on late game control and value. In the early stage of the game, Dr.Doom does nothing and is unplayable until turn 9. Whereas the new card can give you a lot of “free” deal 3 damage, either to the face or for board control. It also comes early, gives you powerful refill(especially if you draw rush minions), and a 5/2 weapon right away. For temple warrior(if that exist in next expansion), that will be very powerful to push for lethal. Even for control warrior deck with a more anti-aggro twist, this card and the invoke cards can ensure early game control and draw cards faster so you can transition into late game with Dr.Doom smoothly and win the game on that. Sure it will sacrifice a lot of late game value, but it is very possible that the environment next expansion requires more early game power before you can even play Dr. Doom.
