I got dealt a trash burn mage deck. Has Rag and three Blazing Torches but is generally garbage arena deck.
I won twice and finally got matched with Mercenaries 280. Woo boy. Now I get a real deck! But I still want to make him earn it so I dont just concede.
Sure enough he has turn 2 Cannon...but then I Coin Daring Fireeater + Hero Power it. Enemy is unperturbed; it was greedy not to T1 Patches but he still can summon 4 patches on turn 3., and Inner Rage my fireeater for good measure.
My hand is Meteor and a bunch of unplayable 7 drops. So I hero power a Patches.
My opponent starts their 4th turn by slamming Sky Captain Kraag. I am sure he thought it was an easy win now - especially since my 4th turn was just hero powering another Patches. He slams Salt Dog for fun and now I'm on 17 life. I figure maybe if I live to Meteor I might be okay, so I Torch + Fireblast the Dog for my 5th turn. My opponent is out of plays so he slams me down to 11. And then...I get to Meteor the Captain and a Patches. Could I still be in it? What is happening?
My opponent's got nothing. I go to 10 and he armors up. The door is open to develop a board so I play Fallen Hero and then use Tanglefur Elder (or whatever its calles) to turn it into a 6/6. That's right boys - my turn 7 is the super fair play of putting 7/7 out for 7 mana.
But then something wild happens. My opponent trades their last Patches into my 1/1 and just plays a second Salty Dog and keeps armoring. (1 face damage missed)
My turn 8 I draw Kodo Rider and decide to start the value train. I make the extremely low-value trade of my elemental into a Salty Dog and start moooooving into an actual endgame.
My opponent uses Heavy Metal to get The Skeleton King. My turn 9 I really hit it - HP plus Trade a guy, after Molten Reflecting the Rider. He fails the joust and now my board is four 3/5s to his empty board. He clears it with Warpath though :(. Now what?
Well now my hand is full of gas while he's down to 2 cards, and so I slam Grim Patron + Soot Spewer + Hero Power my own Patron. Summoning 9/8 of stats for 10 mana isn't a world record or anything, but it is a threatening board presence as I can start getting e'ryone in here pretty quick. And here is where my opponent screws up. He Slams my Spewer, plays Heroic Strike...and clears a Patron. That's 4 face damage missed for the record, and a missed chance to lose a card to kill my damaged Patron.
Since I still have a Patron my turn is easy - I get to hero power my Patron and play a 3/3 unicorn (the thing that cant be targeted for 4) . My board still isn't scary - two 3/1s and a 3/3. But I'm chipping his armor down now.
My opponents turn and he plays ANOTHER Sky Captain...and uses it to clear my Patron. Then he plays Upgrade...to clear the other. 5 face damage missed.
I should feel safe since my opponent is Trump Trading blind but to be safe I play Giggling Inventor to hide behind some Annoyos and use a Torch + Trade to kill the Captain. At that point my opponent has to realize he f'ed up because he plays Southsea Deckhand and Bloodsail Buccaneer - another possible 4 face damage. But the trons stop him and next turn Rag comes out to play cleanup.
And that's the story of how my opponent lost their 780 win Mercenary 280 deck and is now stuck with my garbage mage. Happy Summer Fire Festival!

$80 dollars isn't just for the skin. There are 80 packs. 80 packs for $80 is super cheap. Buying 60 packs costs 69.99, or 1.16 per pack. Looking at that price (which, by the way, is the lowest price per pack), 80 packs would cost you 92.80.
So to recap: for $80, you get $92.80 worth of packs and the added benefits of a card back, a random golden legendary (which can be disenchanted to craft a legendary of choice) and the skin.
People really need to stop hearing only what they wanna hear and then complain about it.

Enjoyed the deck. Made one change that is definitely an upgrade:
- Chief Inspector
+ Eater of Secrets
Eater of Secrets costs 1 less and it might be the difference between a win or a loss. It has much worse stats, but you wouldn't really play the 4/6 for the body anyway.
