jim1608 posted a message on New Card Reveal - Voodoo DollPosted in: NewsConditional of what?
It's a 5 mana kill anything for mage. It even kills Untargetable minions (probably not stealth).
EDIT: Like, really. Vilespine Slayer is even more conditional than this and it's one of the only TWO really great cards rogue received in over an year.

Only in Warrior. Everything else it's a Geddon upgrade, since you can set it up to only hit your opponent's minions and not yours. -

SinAscendant posted a message on New Card Reveal - Worgen AbominationPosted in: NewsThis card seems bad, but probably not as bad as it seems, because it is probably NOT an anti-aggro tool, but an anti-anti-aggro tool.
Ever since Ungoro the meta as been more and more about taunt. Either high quality taunts or high quantity taunts. Think of how many times you have seen a warlock putting up a wall of void lord / void walkers, or druid spreading 1/5 taunts across the board, or just taunt warrior in the past year. This could be seen as a hate card for taunt walls.
This card allows you to use fan of knives to answer void walkers, or your 3/3 wolves to kill 1/5 taunts from druid, or just any of your enemy's taunts now have 2 health less when trading against your small minions. flametongue totem is known as a good card against taunts because it allows your small minions to trade up against big taunts by doing 2 more damage. This card is quite similar (but weaker?).
Of course you can also use it to trigger your acolyte of pain. This card still seems too situational, but if the taunts really got out of control, this could be a counter from the aggro decks.
"To use your 3/3 wolves to kill 1/5 taunts from druid"You might want to read the card again. It says ALL damaged minions, so your wolves are gonna die off too. Terribad idea. -

FortyDust posted a message on Is Cubelock Suffocating the Meta?Posted in: General DiscussionIt wasn't true at first because a lot of people were extremely bad at running the deck.
But now that more people are able to pilot it reasonably well, it's a problem. And I have to agree that Dark Pact is the main culprit.
Sadly, I also know exactly how Team 5 is going to deal with it. Right now, they are thinking, "Sure, it's absolutely dominating the meta, but let's just wait and see how it does without N'Zoth."
Then, after Raven Year's Day, when the deck has traded N'Zoth for Lord Godfrey and is as obnoxious as ever, they'll say, "Sure, it's still dominating, but let's wait a few weeks until the meta settles before we decide what to do."
Then, two months later (i.e., halfway through the life span of the Witchwood expansion), they'll increase the mana cost of Dark Pact from 1 to 2, and we'll have to live with that version of the deck until all the horrible things finally go away in 2019.

RichardBlow posted a message on Is Cubelock Suffocating the Meta?Posted in: General Discussionit sets the bar for power level in Standard. If you're not doing something faster or more powerful or that can reliably answer every threat then what you're doing isn't good enough for constructed.
That is the exact definition of a suffocating deck. Back before the nerf, Quest Rogue was exactly the same way. You were either built to either rush it down before it did anything or answer its board repeatedly, or you could not play constructed. You would just lose no matter what you did. No outplays possible, no lucky shenanigans, the game is just over. Quest Rogue, by the way, was worse that Cubelock currently is and it still got nerfed because playing against it was absolutely miserable. To Aeris, I would contend that it just plain is not a control deck. A control deck in the traditional sense aims to grind its opponent out with value. Removal and board clears in this case are both a means of stalling to the deck's big turns, and another avenue for grinding out a favorable board. However, stalling tools alone do not make a deck a control deck, just as people would not call Quest Rogue or Freeze Mage control decks.
When you actually look at the way Cubelock plays, it actually has the most similarities to Quest Rogue. Get a certain combo of cards in your hand (Lackey+Dark Pact, maybe the Cube if you're feeling feisty), and then win by cheating out some garbage that only the most dedicated of counter decks can deal with. Basically, if you fail to kill the Cubelock fast enough, or otherwise run something like 6 polymorphs somehow, you just are not going to win. Sound familiar? Frankly, the sooner Blizzard sends Cubelock into the effing dirt, the better.

Ender7 posted a message on [Witchwood Theorycraft] Quest Hunter - Houndmaster RexxarnessaPosted in: [Witchwood Theorycraft] Quest Hunter - Houndmaster RexxarnessaVery good list with a handy and detailed tutorial, but I have only one problem with it the Ravencaller. I don't like this card because he is only a 2/1 that you play for 3 mana and give you random 1-cost minions, I prefer to play the Glacial Shard as a Freeze effect, or I would play both the new Hunter Spells.
The first Wing Blast, will always cost one is you trade enough, and Dire Frenzy because 6/5 cost 1.
If I have some spare Dust after the "meta" deck I will make this deck, even if it's tier 3/4, only because he looks very fun to play, nice work.

Many things are true here.
I already thought about the consistency of sandbinder and elemental pool in the deck. My initial thought is that Sandbinder is also a dead card if you haven't got elementals left but in fact, this means we have all the combo pieces in hand and it's rather good than bad. Moreover, you're also right on the fact that its battlecry is still triggered with shudderwock and will indeed clutter my hand. Maybe you're right, I think i'll change this.
Then, i admit I didnt dig through that much regarding all the outocmes possible of shudderwock's battlecry. The example with primordial drake is a legitimate concern. I'll have to analyse more on that one, and I will.
You seem to be right too regarding Brrrloc, not for the reason you mentioned IMO, i.e. to draw elementals because it can also make Sandbinder useless if out of elems. However, done right (meaning playing the sandbinder first) if brrrlocs are cut, it can make Piper draw your Lifedrinker in a highroll (lowroll being sandbinder or piper itself) too. All those dynamics need to be studied cause there's a lot of pros and cons going on, but you have a point.
However, as for your fifth replacement, the best one is Zola the Gorgon which is strictly better than Baleful Banker
Still, I hold my point, that balancing all the 3 aspects (survival, draw, and combo potential) is the key to the success of this deck. And if i'm cutting both drakes and both brrrloc for card draw and Zola, we pretty much don't have many survival tools anymore, and this is also a concern.
Thanks for the feedback :D

The main issue I see, is that Zap! takes a deck slot and we'll need to see if it isn't overkill.
And for blaz...Oh yeah !! I was going to say, you don't need Blazing Invocation cause you don't need another shudderwock, when you'll create several each turn, but in fact it is another way to get it more quickly, and that is very interesting ! Man your deck seems great to me in fact.
The only donwside I see is you can only start fetching for your combo cards in late game and, you don't have any non minion specific card draw which makes it difficult to get those board clears. Haha, i'm so impatient to see how it will turn out !

I've made a similar deck that plans to achieve the same goal, but with a different approach regarding card draw. Yours with bogshaper and cheap spells seems really fun and quite promising actually. I will test this one too for sure ! I will showcase your deck on my page to tell of a different build :) Here's mine

As I said in the "Discussion" section. Kalimos presents a risk of summoning all the 1/1 and then putting them back in hand which can burn you some valuable cards the turn after.

Shudderwock has 6 health, dude. You can only have a maximum of 2 Primordial Drake battlecries (4 dmg max), so still leaving your Shudderwock copies out of range. I don't see where is the issue.

Guys, I'm pretty freakin hyped to play this Shudderwock once the exp comes out ! As I thought about it, this card can really enable a consistent OTK (and if not, infinite damage and healing over time) deck, check it out if you're interested (a full guide is already made) :
Hope you like it as much as I do, i really believe this one will be viable out of all I've come up with in this expansion theorycrafting !

Man, I actually made a deck with this combo that can reliably achieve an OTK, and that I truly believe will be viable in the meta :
A full guide is up too. I can't wait to test it out !

Because, at the time, there wasn't something as busted at exploiting weapon buffs as right now :). The sole design of this card tells us clearly they don't want Kingsbane to be one of the best decks in standard, that's all.
