It’s a visual bug carried over from the Chinese version. Chinese anti-lootbox laws mean that Blizzard can’t sell booster packs, so instead they sell Runestones which players have to convert into Orbs, which are essentially booster packs.

So they’re taking the XP from the special events (which we knew about vaguely but never had details of) and dumping it into the rewards track where it will be more visible.
Is that really a change...?
This is like when your dog is being good (always!) but you’re running low on treats, you break the treats in half.
In ranked. time spent losing gives you 350/h, time spent winning 450/h. In battlegrounds same deal win=350/h lose=250/h, bottom 4 is considered losing, top 4 is considered winning. Rest of the modes follow suite.
Now this is what I’m talking about! Thanks for the details.
Out of curiosity, where did you get this data from? Was it confirmed by Blizzard?
Interesting that Battlegrounds gives less XP/hour than Ranked... Where do the other formats line up in this tier system?
So 1st place in Battlegrounds is the same value as 4th place...?
I thought only quests and (some) achievements gave xp. I don't think I'm getting xp for games played. If I am, it's an incredibly small amount. (like under 100/game)
You definitely get XP for playing. It's not much, certainly under 100 per game.
I see Hearthstone as a CCG, not a video game. Coming from an MtG background, HS is incredibly cheap. I don’t get what all the fuss is about.
go play MtG then where you collect cards and not hearthstone where you craft cards on an account that you don't own
140 euro for 1 deck will never be cheap, especially when the games progressively pushes out new cards designed to replace the old ones every year in order for you to buy cards for a new deck
Gatekeeping: always a trashy look.
I can’t afford MtG anymore. I’m not a whale, just a slightly overweight porpoise. :)
If set rotation bothers you, just play Wild. It’s a fun format, and much cheaper than Standard. Even after a 3 year break, I was able to pick up a couple of my Wild decks and compete with just a few card slots tweaked.

OMG, you're back! Haven't seen you on the forums for so many years. If I remember correctly you used to be a mod, don't you? Good to know you are still alive. :P
Heyo! Yeah I’m back, had a few years off to get married, move to a different country, and have a kid. I wonder if my record for giving forum infractions ever got beaten. ;)
Yeah, I just figured someone out there must have recorded and crunched enough data to have it figured out by now. Aren’t there deck trackers that could answer this sort of thing?

And yeah, there are about a dozen threads about this already: https://www.hearthpwn.com/search?search=Runestones orbs

Reacting to bad manners by being bad mannered just doubles the amount of bad manners in the world.
Grow up.
Also, Squelch early and often.

Just FYI, the page for Kobold Sandtrooper has the legendary frame on the golden version (in English, not in other languages).

I've seen both answers discussed in various threads over the past couple of weeks.
Just wondering if anyone's gotten an official answer on it, or been able to confirm it in-game somehow?
