Birmill posted a message on New ideas - New decksPosted in: General Deck BuildingI didn't see any Odd Quest Priests with Archbishop. I think it can be interesting deck and maybe effective:)
It's not with the quest, but I made this :Odd Play your opponent's deck Priest Thief Priest Deck by Birmill - Apr 29, 2018Minion (17) Ability (13) - 2x Psychic Scream
- 1x Devour Mind
- 2x Holy Water
- 2x Binding Heal
- 2x Holy Nova
- 2x Shadow Word: Death
- 2x Power Word: Shield
Loading Collection I'm 27/12 with the deck so far, some games in <1000 legend last season, the others climbing from rank 4 this one. It works actually pretty well ! Turns out 4 Heal HP is good against aggro and Archbishop/Azalina are insane against control. -

FortyDust posted a message on I don't think the issue with cubelock is the minion cheating/cubesPosted in: General DiscussionThe overwhelming prevalence of other mana-cheat decks proves that Dark Pact is not the problem.
Mana cheating is a problem, and Cubelock is just one expression of it.
It's just so much more extreme in Cubelock because the mana cheating is tied to deathrattles, and Dark Pact is an easy enabler. There's nothing inherently wrong with enabling deathrattles this way ... unless those deathrattles are insanely OP.

Calikarcha posted a message on Aviana Combo Druid DecksperimentPosted in: Aviana Combo Druid DecksperimentQuest Druid player here. Have you tried it with the quest? I had around a 60% wr playing malygos quest druid. It's weird but people just don't know how to play against it.

Nicholasjh posted a message on Queueing in StandardPosted in: Standard FormatI am curious to hear about your experience of queueing into other decks on ladder. I personally have experienced mostly unfavored matchups against my decks. It is really funny how I pick control warlock and I am facing Hadronox Druid, or Mind blast Priest instantly. Then I switch to Odd Rogue and have two paladins in a row and this is happening more than 60% of the time. (Rank 1).
I am curious to hear your thoughts and experience on ladder. Maybe it is just my experience, or my karma :)

Well obviously they're getting favored matchups. -

CrovaxTheCursed posted a message on Queueing in StandardPosted in: Standard FormatI've played this game for years and at times I still feel like the ladder queue deliberately counters the deck I'm running. However, those unlucky streaks are simply more memorable than the win streaks. How many extra stars did you get in comparison to those loss streaks? :)
I feel your pain though, I have gone 0-6 (always one win away from rank floor too, mind you) against the same damn deck that counters me, switched decks to counter them, and go 0-3 against a completely different deck that eats my lunch just the same, do the same in Wild, proceed to baby rage and not play for a day or so. It happens... although I feel like it happens WAY too often to me. I've never been lucky in anything though, so whatever. I always get within 10 packs of pity timer, idk what all this average 1 in 20 packs people get, but definitely not me (yes, I do keep track, I am SUPER unlucky). Been playing since pre-Naxx and I've opened exactly 1 golden Legendary. I could go on.
I'd like to believe it's as random as they say, but the odds definitely seem against me. The question is the motive though, why would they rig the ladder? It doesn't make them more money, so there's no reason to implement such methods.

jiggs posted a message on Thoughts on Dark Pact for 1 Mana?Posted in: Card DiscussionDark Pact is fine. Cubelock is fine. While the aggro player is trying to take down the lock player, the lock player is trying to survive till the end game. Win before the endgame as aggro or survive till the endgame and combo out. Both types of decks are capable of winning against the other. Healing and board control are core components in combo/control decks. Cubelock is mainly a combo deck.
The issue is the players who can't think for themselves on how to go about playing against specific decks. Once their style of play is stifled by a different play style, all they know how to do is complain. Don't want to play the counter against a specific deck or tech against it or learn the matchup and just improve as a player overall? Just leave the game because it's people like that who kill diversity.

fisguinho posted a message on Thoughts on Dark Pact for 1 Mana?Posted in: Card DiscussionSince team 5 were saying how they were watching the deck to see if it was too powerful my take on this is that 1 of 3 things should be changed, either dark pact costs 2 mana(as i see it that would be the most proficient thing to do), cube costs 1 more so you can't cube into faceless on the same turn, or the one i think would have the less impact make lackey cost more, tho that would only really stall the demon 1 more turn

Unknown27 posted a message on Welcome To Tier 4 WarriorPosted in: General DiscussionIf they dont do anything to bring back Control Archetype for Warrior i'm not going to preorder,so far everything seems like UBER TRASH tier card for him.At least Shaman got Hagatha that will make a more controlish type viable.
But warrior?oh boy...He feels like Shaman from 2k15 all over again...Just a forgotten class, with no capabilities of climbing...
And people trying to justify Rush..Try playing that sht againt control warlock and see how that goes...When you have to rush into a turn 6 Void Lord...

Did not work with other spells so shouldn't work with Contract either

I hope we will see nerf to cube because that card has been another culprit of why cubelock and deathrattle hunter were/are so busted. And this deck just like any other deck struggles against those

Great work! You should definitely let Blizzard know about your work or just go ahead and apply for a job there. Your ideas are crazy cool and I am in love with the cards shown so far.

Another thought is that warlocks would be just dying if there was no dark pact. Think about it: amethyst, siphon, gul'dan. Only Amethyst is cheap enough for you to survive against aggro. Yeah, you have defile and hellfire to clear, but how often do you draw them when they are so needed? Well, if dark pact was to be removed and there is no dark possession which could be its substitute then warlock cannot effectively draw out strong demons from the deck which is a big cut on the warlock's ability to be a control deck. I mean people can obviously try different versions and such but still. Pact gives this ability to survive. Lackey and skull are reasonably costed in my opinion. I understand it is frustrating to see doomguards and voidlords that early in the game sometimes, but it is perfect for warlocks to survive against aggro. In Control people have more tools to deal with demons. Aggro uses silence to get through and they do it perfectly most of the time.

They printed a new 1 cost card Dark possession, so if dark pact is to be nerfed, some may run Dark possession instead; it just won't give 8 health right away.
