posted a message on Classic Packs: when to open?

Some time ago Blizz announced three new cards in Classic, to make up for HoF class cards (Mage common and epic and Rogue common). Since the announcement, I was keeping my classic packs unopenned, since I have all commons and a large epic collection and with the new ones there is a larger chance I get something I don´t own.

Last week, they nerfed Mana Wyrm, and now I am facing a dilema: do I open the 11 packs now to have extra dust from any wyrms oppened or keep them until next week for the possibility of new cards? Anyone knows how long do nerfed cards keep giving full value? I know its a VERY marginal question, but I am just curious.

posted a message on Even N'Zoth Reno Warrior

I put this deck together this morning and went 3*0 on R4 (aggro mage, Mech Hunter and a odd Warriors). Here are my toughts:

Cards: completed the 30 with BloodRazor. I changed Piloted Shredder for a Infested Tauren. Its a worst card, but It adds a taunt for NZoth.

I think the deck can survive aggro aggro most games. It may be too greedy, my game against the odd Warrior I deetroyed the guy after he was out of removal (DMH my NZoth). My main concern is how to beat Druids. The armor gain felt underwelming and I dont know how I would handle the massive board from the druids after a Star Aligner combo.

Relember: 1 Win, 4 or 5 auto-concedes! Lets make this a thing at least for the first couple hours of each brawl.

There is an OTK with Glinda, knife juggler, double Mechawarper and that Mech scorpions that kills a one attack minnion.

Got to 3, as far as the season before and it was very similar: got to 3 before the middle of the month and then after a loosing streak, got fed up with ladder and started to play only decks I like, regardless of winrate. Got a lot of with with Exodia Mage against druids, but the aggros just wrecked me.

You have a 6-card "infinite" deck: you draw the six, get a refill.

I got it with 0TK priest, you get to draw 2 or 3 Divine Spirits and stick a minnion before T4, then its double Radiant OTK. There might me a way to do it with freeze mage and that "both players draw 2" card.

    My deck:

    OTK Priest six-shooter brawl
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (3) Ability (3)

As someone who plays Wild since the split, I would avise you towards the path which includes Loathweb. He is a one of a kind minnion which is is playable in all kinds of decks, from aggro to midrange and control. You can consolidate and protect a board, hold your opponent a turn.

Besides that, as saied before, Baku allows for a number of decks and has larger future potential. He, as well as Loathweb, is neutral.

I do not own Floop yet, but I played a lot of combo druids (Mally, Togg). Its a strong and fun to play archetipe. That sayed, Floop is a druid-only, combo-only card. Muito vote still goes to the other two.

Got from 7 to 5 in a 6-0 streak with Odd Rogue. I don´t know if I will try to improve my best rank (2) this season.

At least I finally crafted Dr. Boom, which was wreaking havoc when I started HS.

Won the first game. As usual, conceded 4 or 5 games in 2 minutes to help people if they don´t want to play a random TB.

What I think is worst is the fact that two Inspire cards seem to have different behaviors, implying they have different coding.

I did the test mysilf. Aside for the sadness of finding people playing Even Shamman and Big Priest on casual, I found that Thunder Bluff Valiant keeps working the same old way, buffing AFTER the toten spaws. As MaximGorkij pointed out, they said in 2015 that the Inspire would happen AFTER the HeroPower.

The way I see is: the interaction should be changed to happen BEFORE the effect of the Hero Power, to keep it consistent with the ordering of playing cards. In the specific case of Thunder Bluff Valiant, it could be changed to say "AFTER you use your hero power, giver your totens +2 attack". It would loose the "Inspire" keyword, but its an older expansion, people wouldn´t care if this means adding consistance to the game.

Anyways, I also agree that its such a cornercase scenario with an older keyword that the team specifically sayed was a failure and would not be used again anytime soon, that I am OK with it existing, even if it may ruin a game out of 100.000. It shouldn´t , but there are higher priorities in terms of development.

I would like this to be confirmed after that new "rules patch" I metioned, since you are correct, I remember this interaction from the times of midrange Shamman.

It may be the case that the whole interaction with Inspire changed after the patch to be consistent with the way cards work in terms of order. It may also be the case that the two interactions are inconsistent. Anyways, haven´t seen a  Thunder Bluff Valiant since it rotated to Wild, and most likelly won´t see it on high ranks (its a heropower-based card that is Odd...)

I don´t think its a bug, I just think the "when" resolves before the effect of the Hero Power resolves. That means the opponent pressed the button, the Orgrimmar Aspirant gave its current weapon (none) +1 attack and after that the hero power resolved, given him a 2/2 weapon with no buffs.

This is similar to the case described in the blog post about the mechanics of the game (source: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/hearthstone/topic/20759378548#1)

    Sequence
Whenever an action is taken, Hearthstone executes a sequence of steps to resolve what happens.

    Here’s a simplified example sequence:

        • ACTION: A card is played (this begins the sequence)
        • EVENT: Whenever A Card is Played
        • o Whenever A Card is Played

    triggers

        resolve
        • Card ability activates
        • EVENT: After a Card is Played event occurs
        • o After a Card is Played

    triggers

         resolve

You can see that the "Whenever" trigger happens BEFORE the habilities of the card played (in this case, Hero Power pressed) resolves.
