Trollbert posted a message on Dire Brood - Wild Quest HunterPosted in: Dire Brood - Wild Quest HunterHow has this deck been running for you since it went live? Specifically I wanted to know how often you complete the quest? I was starting to put together a non-quest version based on what you did (since I don't have the quest and I wanted to try the tempo gain by skipping the turn 1 quest play).
I figured I could swap out the Ravencaller for Bearsharks since they are mostly there for the quest. Maybe another hunter's mark for the quest. What do you think?

brexton posted a message on [Rank 5 - Legend] Shaw Witchwood Midrange HunterPosted in: [Rank 5 - Legend] Shaw Witchwood Midrange HunterThe reasons behind me experimenting with Arfus are the Corpse Widow synergy, the fact that it's a beast, it's a 4 drop to better the curve, the fact that frostmourne can win games, it brings potential unleash the hounds + anti magic shell synergy and I feel like even with the Deathstalker hero power you're not going to win the late game against decks that thrive there. It is definitely questionable - I'm not sure if I like Arfus myself to be honest, he wins some games however has very minor impact in others. I just feel like Deathstalker would be useless as I see it as a card which completely removes your face pressure as it is unlikely you will still have a strong board coming into turns 9 and 10. The deck is based around turning board leads into face damage, as in ignoring the board when you have enough damage to set up lethal next turn with kill command, eaglehorn etc.
As for cubelock, my current winrate against it is at 46%. Nothing spectacular, but decent considering the strength of it. I mulligan for 1 drops, 2 drops and spellbreaker and simply go face. It's more of a luck matchup I've found as they are nearly always going to hellfire on turn 4, cheat a minion on turn 5/6 and Gul'dan on turn 9. It really is just a question of if you have the burn, curve and silence to push through all the defences they put up before turn 9.

danklesminky posted a message on So, is this the time we get a slower meta?Posted in: General DiscussionThis is a slow meta. If you’re asking if the meta will ever get to the idyllistic point of absolutely no midrange or aggro decks at all and everyone plays control, which a lot of people claim they would want but probably don’t realize how terrible playing against nothing but OTK decks would be, no that’s not ever going to happen.

Harmonius posted a message on So, is this the time we get a slower meta?Posted in: General DiscussionBuddy, THIS is the slower meta. The top-tier aggro deck runs Cairn, Scalebane and Bonemare. Every other t1 deck is control. Turns out that the 'slow' meta isn't everything we thought it would be. As for with this next meta slow it down even more? Well Duskbreaker exists so...

Edit: If you wonder whether or not you should craft them, I wouldn't recommend thought and would suggest you to save your dust for something more practical.

I think if you play Crystallizer after High Priest Thekal, you'll just lose 5 armor, gain 5 armor.

I played a deck similar to this last month for hundreds of games, although the version I made was far more spell-based than minion based (so traps, Emerald stones, animal companion, flanking strike, etc.). I ended up writing it off as a failure and thinking Kripp's less ambitious highmane version was better, because I found it too easy to get screwed by drawing the high-cost cards you'd rather recruit instead of the early game cards you needed. At the last few days, I was stuck at rank 8-9 with a basically 50% winrate.
Opting for a more minion based / Keleseth build around the core Charge Kathrena package is interesting, I might try it out.

I have Arfus, but I'm curious if you put in Arfus because you don't have Deathstalker Rexxar, or is there another reason?
Also, how exactly does the deck win against Cubelock? That's the deck that gives my own Winterwisp-based midrange deck the most problems.

This deck got me from rank 15 to 10-9, but I've now swapped to a more aggressive midrange hunter deck. This deck is 50-50 against jade druid, and has done pretty well against evolve shaman, quest mage and quest warrior for me, but pirate warrior, aggro token druid and midrange murloc paladin is often too fast unless you draw really well and they draw poorly, and it is often just a bit too slow to beat jade druid or Big Priest.
I like this slower version better, so I'd be curious to hear you thoughts on those matchups.

I'm going to continue opening packs until the end of the month. If I had opened a ton of packs at expansion release, I might have stopped earlier, but I only opened 33.

Is the deck a lot worse without Drakkari Enchanters? I know end of turn effects is the whole point of the deck, but I was wondering whether the value you usually get from them is critical.
