Not sure how useful it is, but Elder Scrolls Legends did this exact keyword already. they just greyed out the inactive effect.

About your challenges I thought that you did not yet do them, but I wanted to mention them for completness of my review. Btw a little off topic, but nice and nostalgic for me to see a screen from Legends, shame that game stopped doing new contnent, almost got me to stop playing HS back then... (Just had to write it when I saw it)

Concept is very good, but hearthstone UI does not do a very good job of this. You don't have a good indication of whether you are on an odd or even turn. Yes, there is a yellow highlight, but what if you have both tick and tock?

Like I said, I'm not sure design is about coming up with these UI solutions but I think I laid out some possible solutions. Blue and red highlights ? Idk it's definitely something new and weird but I think it's worth the complexity.

There maybe could also be used a banner similar to Tradeable or Tri-Class cards which would show (*) for odd and (**) for even turns or something like that...

The idea is quite fitting for your class I would say, and from my experience with Elder Scrolls, could be used in a huge variety of effects and are fun to play with (at least for me).

Congrats to the first round winner and, of course, everyone else who submitted their entry.

Just to make thing clear for myself as I am not a native english speaker,

One of your cards needs a double digit number somewhere, be it in the card text, mana cost, or health/attack.

That double digit is meant as "If you control a minion with 12  or more attack..." for example?

You must state which expansion during which your class is introduced in Hearthstone. Then, you must create an epic card that uses a mechanic (not a keyword) introduced in a past expansion, much like Nethrandamus does.

So Jousting (Reveal a x in each deck, if your costs more...), Schemes, Forgetful ogres (50% chance...) etc?

Also I assume that the expansion in which the class was introduced could be any and not only the first one in the year?

So in the end I can have class introduced in Descent of Dragons and have that epic for the challenge having the Joust mechanic from TgT?

And lastly can I still introduce a new Keyword if I decide to?

    Thanks for clarification.

Now for a first feedback (I am sorry as I did not manage to give it to all last time, will try to do more smaller ones now...)

    JeanTheMedicRat Scion

Balgruuf - the effect is interesting, I like it - Only the name evokes Skyrim too much for me, but that is probably ok. The ability is also somewhat similar to the Isle of Madness expansion mechanic from the Elder Scrolls: Legends (Those cards where split in half when they were drawn, altough they did not merge back on the board.) I always liked that mechanic...

Rival Sibling - probably does not fulfill the challenge requirments, unless I forgot about something. I would probably not give it to a lower rarity though.

All the rares I quite like and the common Discover your Origin is really flavorful - probably my favorite card in your core set so far.

Family fortune - also good, seems more like a rare effect than common, but that is probably because the Heritage is a brand new machanic, but as it is a core for your class it is probably alright (Basicaly ok, just describing my initial feeling that I get from the card.)

Do not really understand why claw would give you a heritage, but the card itself seems well balanced.

And IF I UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGE CORRECTLY - you do not meet the double digit requirement in any card.

    The Winglord

Clean up yer deck slots lads as the famous Winglord - Commander of Gryphon riders - Kurdran Wildhammer and his loyal friend and companion - Sky'ree are making their way into Hearthstone and are taking command of more than just gryphons, with your help, of course.

    Sky'ree herself (Token):

    Showcase cards:

Wandering what more is in store for this class, including the rest of the Basic Cards? Then check this spoiler bellow:

    Themes and card:

    1, Sky'ree - Hero Power

Kurdran counts on his loyal companion to fight as one - as such some cards of the class will work to buff Sky'ree while also being somewhat powerful without her (to be playable through random in other classes, while under pressure or with Finley gameplan). This unique cooperation allows the class to posses a different playstyle from all other classes. These cards will be unique for each gameplan as some will work best in control deck while others will support aggresive strategies.

    2, Beast synergy

Not every situation fits Sky'ree and as such some of the cards will work with any Beast and not just her. The power lever of these cards will however take into account how easy and reliable it is for Kurdran to get a Beast.

    3, Beasts

As the point above stated some of your cards require Beasts in order to reach full potential and Winglord does not relly only on neutral ones but also has some of his own.

(Also a token for Aerial Support card showcased above.)

    4, Lightning Magic

Gryphon riders are able to channel the magic of the storms so they share a little bit of similarity with Shamans there.

5, Other cards to complete the fantasy

So what do ya say lads and lasses? Shall we take to the skies?

Edit: Sorry I had to edit the post as, for an unknown reason to me, a large empty space appeared between Hero Portrait and the rest of the text.

I would advice against using Argus, in my opinion he is highly above other heroes in terms of strenght and even size lore-wise.

As for the other two, if you are going heavily for a Shadowlands/Anima theme the ghost is probably better. If it is more of a mortal using the type of powers/magic on Azeroth (or Outlands...) I would go with that Draenei lass.

Hi there, I've made a little bit of a last chance decision to take part in the competition and as such I'd like to present you -

    The Winglord

A little bit of a name clarification - I have at first considered just a Gryphon Rider class, but it seemed pretty limiting in terms of flavor. Then I looked for a similar theme and remered that Dwarven Gryphon commanders in Outland were named Wing Commanders but as that is already a card (tauren sadly), I replaced Commander with a Lord. This would allow me to have more flavor space when creating cards.

Now a first slight issue I am not sure about is the Hero Power, I do not know if the restriction at being able to have only one a time is big enough to make it a 2/2, perhaps a 1/3 or even 1/2 statline would be better?

Lore Note: Sky'ree was a loyal friend and companion of Kurdran until she passed away during the times of Cataclysm.

    Basic Cards and themes:

    1, Sky'ree - Hero Power

Winglord counts on his loyal companion to fight as one as such quite some cards of the class will work to buff your companion while also being somewhat powerful without her (to be playable through random in other classes, while under pressure or with Finley gameplan).

    2, Beast synergy

Not every minion could ride a single gryphon:) some of the cards will work with any Beast not just Sky'ree.

    3, Beasts

As the point above stated some of your cards require Beasts in order to reach full potential and Winglord does not relly only on neutral Beasts but also has some of his own.

    4, Lightning Magic

Gryphon riders are able to channel the magic of the storms so they share a little bit of similarity with Shamans there.

    5, Other

Nest Guardian - Basic early game protection option.

Gryphoneer's Mallet - A basic weapon to get the copmlete image of a Gryphon rider inspired by Warcraft3. Improvised name as Stormhammer is already taken.

    My Questions

Hero Power balance ideas? What about cards? Does the class look too similar to Hunter?

Thank you for your time, I'll try to start working on feedback for your entries as soon as I can.

Feedback - (W.I.P) - please do note that I do not have much experience with custom classes.

    El_Skele's Bounty Hunter

My feels from the class flavor - Bounty Hunter is not a typical Warcraft thing in my mind, but there are more than enough quests for someone's head in WoW so its fine with me, also you probably will not have problem with making different and unique flavors in each expansion.

Hero Power - A mix between Rogue and Priest, untargetable heal, seems balanced.

Keyword - Have to see some cards first, so I will comment on it in later weeks

    Cards -

Carrier Camel - 1/3 was very rare in early HS, but nowadays its probably okay even in Basic, effect works pretty well with Hero Power and introduces a weapon buff theme for a class. 4.75/5

Tanarian Scorpid - Should probably be a Beast, you said the wording is corrected. Nice Card and a base class removal. 5/5

What a Steal - Do not get the connection between the name and the effect. Ooze is a part of basic so weapon removal works. Unique price for card draw work fine as well. To teach people that Mana Crystals are not the only resource in the game. 4.5/5

Deals at Night - Simple card draw card. Fine with me, just be careful not to have too much card draw as you already have 2 pretty decents draw two cards. 5/5

Difficult Bounty - Nice and simple. Powercreeps the Druid Treant summon spell with having Rush, OK as long as there is not a heavy synergy with wide boards and Bounty Hunters as Treants have. 4.5/5

Empty the Chambers - Maybe a bit complex for a basic, but its ok. 4/5

Claim the Bounty - Nice flavor, completes class fantasy. Assasinate was buffed so maybe 5 Mana could also work. 5/5

Silk Bandages - Buffed version seems better (Circle of Healing) 5/5

    S.A. Crossbow - I like 3 2/1 Statline the most. Altough I do not undersand the S.A. abbrevation 5/5

Bulletin Board/Known Fugitive - Both versions works for me. Having the option to play with the hunted as well opens more creativity in card art and mechanics. Board is probably closer in terms of flavor. 5/5

Overall - I quite like the class, just some minor things specified above.

     WKitsune's The Watcher

My feels from the class flavor - Keepers are all over Azeroth so quite some diverse options. I quite like their lore myself. Isiset as Hero works just as well as most others. Altough your basic set is perhaps too centered in Uldum. You could include a Valarjar, something from Ulduar, Uldaman, etc.

Hero Power - Basicaly +2 Health to a minion, seems balanced. Still not convinced about the Armor though. Makes too much changes for not much in return for now. Also if you have minions with some default Armor you'll probably have to do a lot of photoshoping.

    Cards -

Water Warden - If the art stays, should be an Elemental, could be a 1/4. 4/5

Tol'vir Garrison - Powecreeps Force of Nature a little bit, but probably okay as you do not plan on having a wide board support. 5/5

Runecaster's Mace - Work well with the class, if the Armor turns out to work well. 4.5/5

Temple Guardian - Nice with a late gameplan, probably good but okay. 4.5/5

Stern Guardian - In basic Guardian evokes Taunt for me at least. 3/5

Power Surge - Without seeing Armored minions working it is just a Blessing of Kings. Could fill a different mana slot maybe. 2/5

Maintenance Unit - I get the flavor in Maintaning the Board control, as it in basic set it could be easier to just deal damage to all enemy minions. Altough Multishot was in Basic as well. 4/5

Emergency Purge - Seems that it could be of Arcane tribe. Other than that good flavorful card. 5/5

Protective Field - OK there, but Blessing of Might was probably better, maybe 4 Health could still be balanced. 4.25/5

Halt, Intruders! - Seems realy complex for a basic card, for me at least. 1/5

Overall - I like the possible flavor of the class I am just not sure about the Armor thing as I do not have much faith in it for now.

Alright, I have hopefuly managed to upload my entry.

My deepest apologies for I have completely forgot that the third phase already ends - (My last two weeks were supposed to be quite free, yet quite the opposite happened. I do not remember when I was that busy.)

When I am at the apologies part I would also like to apologise for not taking part in the discussion part at all. Being quite a lazy perfectionist I always end up scrapping my comment, instead of posting it. And putting together a meaningful sentence in English is a Nightmare for me. That being said, I will attempt to offer some quality feedback on the last two phases :).

By the way everything Warcraft lore-based is, in my opinion, quite well made already...

    Fate of Lordaeron

Hold, lad. There's an inscription on the dais. It's a warning. It says, "Whomsoever takes up this blade shall wield power eternal. Just as the blade rends flesh, so must power scar the spirit."

Hey there and welcome to a new custom adventure - Fate of Lordaeron. Some of you who have played Warcraft 3 might have already recognized the quote above – it refers to nothing else than the Frostmourne -  the bane of Lordaeron, the dread blade of the Lich King. This expansion takes us back before the era of the Lich King as we know him, back to the last days of Lordaeron and the last days of prince Arthas as its defender.

This adventure will follow the old Naxxramas and Blackrock and thus feature no new Keyword. But what does it bring?

Return of Knights of the Frozen Throne mechanics – Being close to Icecrown and the undead Scourge some cards bring their mechanics back – namely Secret Deathrattles, Defile – style re-casting cards and of course - FREEZE SHAMAN!

New Mechanic - Though not a Keyword you can still Discover a new Mechanic for this expansion as you venture deeper into the cold north…

    1. Lordaeronians - Lordaeron is the birthplace of paladins, so many of its inhabitants have gotten use to follow their holy generals into battle. As Divine Shield is the best suited Keyword for Paladin - Lordaeron cards will have bonus effect as long as you have a minion with Divine Shield.
    2. Mercenaries - Ever hungry for coins, they will fight harder if they know you can afford them. They gain a bonus when you are holding a Coin.

Fate of Lordaeron - Follow the story of Arthas and learn how he became the Lich King, or perhaps discover a different path and save the Kingdom…

Wing 3: Back to the Shores

You and your men have been ordered to recall the expedition and return home. But what if there are no ships to return on...

    Showcase cards:

    First Boss: Mercenary Commander

You can't sink all your ships on your own, convince these mercenaries to accept your offer.

    Deck:

    Minions (19):

    Spells (5):

    Weapons (6):

    Rewards (Class Challenge: Rogue)

     Second Boss: Corsair's Redoubt

The time has come to bring your whole fleet down. Sink all five ships to secure your goal.

    Other boss parts + explanation

This boss has 5 seperate little boss fights. The order in which you fight them is always the same.

When you defeat one Boss it goes Immune until a start of its next turn and is replaced by next. The next Boss retains board and mana, but gains a new Hero Power and replaces his hand with three cards from its own separate deck.

    Deck:

    Minions (13):

    Other Boss part deck:

    The Silver Sail

     Warbeast Transporter

     Deck of Knowledge

     Armored Bella

     Rewards (Class Challenge: Warlock)

     Third Boss: The Guardian

Trapped in the frozen North, surrounded by enemies and now without an escape route. Seems like the sword of legends - Frostmourne is your only chance, but its guardian will not part with it easily...

    Deck:

    Minions (18):

    Spells (17):

    Rewards

    Frostmourne:

    Notes BossFight + Wing Ending

The Guardian starts with an indestructible Ice Block in play. Once you pop it the following dialogue will ocur:

The Guardian: Turn away... before it's... too late.

Arthas: Still trying to protect the sword, are you?

The Guardian: No... trying to protect you... from it.

You now have 2 choices (Both are replayable, of course):

1, The obvious one - Wait until next turn, then kill the Guardian, claim boss reward - Frostmourne and unlock Wing 4

2, The hidden one - Turn away - Concede - Claim Wing Reward - The Guardian and unlcok Wing 5

The Wing Victory Dialog also changes, depending on your choice:

    1, Frostmourne Way -

Muradin: Hold, lad. There's an inscription on the dais. Oh no, that blade is cursed. Leave it be Arthas...

    2, Guardian Way -

The Guardian: A wise move, I will attempt to reinforce your base. Make haste mortals for there are plenty of allies to be found in the north. Together you may yet stand against the Death itself...

Edit: Fixed Frostmourne token, it, again shows bad Hearthstone version of it.

posted a message on Quest Givers Anonymous: Phase Two Voting Thread

Just a few minor ones I have noticed in my post:

A Floating Necropolis - Class Chalenge is Hunter, not Druid

Ordin Frostbane - There is no class chalenge at all

Alliance Emissary - Has a note to hidden minions from the first wing, that this boss does not use.

Nothing too important, maybe just the hidden minions look out of place.
