posted a message on 19.2.1 Patch Notes - Edwin & Boggspine Nerfs - Battleground Change

Also sorry this didn't get into the notes but: Yes Edwin will still rotate later this year and yes we will be reverting the nerf (along with others) at that time.
    Alec Dawson

hmm in that case this is just a temporary nerf until the next expansion, then HoF'd Edwin.

so uhh, should we still disenchant Edwin or not..? (since the HoF'd cards give you dust without disenchanting them)

posted a message on New Player Experience

I had another account, in which I last played HS years ago. I relogged to get a free deck, when blizzard first announced they will be giving free decks to new players and long time returning players. After I log in, I realized I had to go through 50 beginner ranks to get the said free deck. after 1 or 2 games, same thing happened, it was like playing on high ladder ranks, full of meta decks, and only thing I had was 2-3 packs + basic set (not even all cards since you have to unlock them by levelling).
Then I gave up after playing about 10 games. no matter if you cant lose stars or not, it is super unfair and ultra boring to try to win against meta decks as a new player.

This makes HS doomed to die, when the current playerbase gets bored. No new players allowed. No way. Only thing that can be done is starting as a whale and spending much money, which is not logical since it is an old game and the fact that crazy amount of money is required to carry a new player into the game.

    Quote from YourPersonalGuru >>

TBH I think they all look pretty bad... The detail, color and expression = fan art to me.

Gul Dan and Ilidan might be the only exceptions here. Both have decent detail and bonus gear. I might go with Anduin thou, because that guy... Just cracks me up! Did they actually look up the guy before drawing or did they just assume that all blonde men look the same? XD

If you play priest. PLEASE take that one! I need a good laugh to compensate for the annoyance of playing against him ;)

     exactly xD
Anduin level 50 portrait reminds me of this:

what a Jebait that was. I would never picked a player with such a state. Because most of the time, focusing on the "fun" part makes you lose in HearthStone.

posted a message on Achievements that reward XP

aw man really? It sucks that achievements that reward XP only rerquire ranked play. I was planning to do those in friendly challenges.

imagine, if friendly challenges count, that would make the game more interesting I think. Maybe something like 80g trade thread, an achievement completion thread would have opened.

posted a message on Blizzard's response to the whole system revamp

I think that what made this situation worse is the fact that Blizzard LIED. They said there will be more rewards, more gold for most players but it is absolutely not, players now get like 2000 gold less per expansion period and that is a HUGE difference.

I think they could've been honest about it. I understand that a company wants to make money. But, they don't have to ruin their reputation while doing so. They should've said something like: this is our new system, we are going to implement that. That's it. No need to lie about whether the system is more rewarding or not.

bruh, I dont even know why you wanna reach lvl 150 when the "normal" levels stops at 50. Trying to get maximum rewards is like winning 30 games daily in the old system so you could get daily 10*10 gold. I almost never reached that cap unless there is a tavern brawl that usually ends on turn 3 or 4.

the real question should be "is this new system actually  more rewarding?"

the reward track lasts until every NEXT expansion so one should calculate the average gold you can get  between expansions while considering 10 gold rewards too. So that you can make a true comparison.

in fact Ima try to do that soon, and will update :)

well, I did this. Please check it out.

posted a message on is the new system actually more rewarding?

ok so I tried to do some calculations, to find that out.

The only concrete rewards you get are on the reward track, and it contains:
    -16 packs
    -2 tavern tickets
    -4200 gold
    -2 Legendary
    -1 Epic

    so I assumed that:

16 packs would worth 1500 gold
2 tavern ticket would worth 300 gold
2 Legendary and 1 epic would worth 1500 gold (hardest one to assume I think)
    1500 + 300 + 1500 + 4200 = 7500 gold per expansion period

    ...

    old system rewards would be:
assuming rerolling 50 quests and always completing 60 quests, with addition of sometimes getting even more rewarding quests than 60
-so lets say 70 gold per day (this can easily become 80, 90,.. etc with grinding, but 70 is possible with minimal/normal play)
3 expansions every year, that would mean 1 expansion every 4 months, 4*30+2= 122 (approx) days between expansions
70*122= 8540 gold per expansion period

    ...

there are 150 gold per every level past 50
so you need to grind 11 more levels even beyond 50 just to get rewards that are equal to the old rewards

am I missing something here? if I am not forgetting anything, this new system is nowhere near the old system when it comes to rewards.

Please inform me if you have anything to add. Thank you.

posted a message on Which daily and weekly quests to reroll?

thank you, this thread been really helpful.

80g quest will become 1500 XP trade quest, so thats nice.

it seems like one should always reroll 800 for daily and 1750 for weekly quests.

the real question is, can you reach the max level just by completing daily quests?

they shouldve given the rewards by some other way, like a lottery. the rewards for the reddit decks made everyone downvote other decks to increase their chances of win, so the reddit decks either sucked, or famous people won.
