New account, blatantly dumb opinion... Nice try, but no.

Pit93 posted a message on Will you play more Wild after the rotation?Posted in: General DiscussionLiterally, the only time I've played Standard during the year of the Raven was for the launch of Witchwood to get my 10 Standard-Wins to get my Lunara. After that I switched right back to Wild. I hope for the year of the Dragon I won't have to play Standard to get the new Hero... (considering we get one like the last 2 years)
So yes, I will continue to play Wild after the rotation.

98 commons x5 = 490 dust
72 rares x 20 = 1440 dust
Is it really worthed to dust an entire set just to get a legendary and (almost) an epic?

KaptainTrips posted a message on Will you play more Wild after the rotation?Posted in: General DiscussionI'm play in wild much more than standart
Off topic, but why do some people write "Standart" rather than "Standard"? I see it fairly often.
As for the OP question, I play standard and wild pretty equally.

sxavalentine posted a message on Will you play more Wild after the rotation?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Khaostheory1980 >>I didn't start playing until a few weeks before Kobolds and Catacombs so I didn't have any old cards. I DE'd everything I did get pre-witchwood just to make enough cards for standard. For me to even think about wild now Blizzard would have to give me a wild set to play with as I would never invest more money just to craft old cards. For that reason once year of the dragon hits I'll DE all the cards that are not in standard anymore so I have a full set of standard cards. I think a lot of people that were not playing right from the start must do that too.
I dread to think how much money it would cost to create a decent wild collection. I wouldn't like to create just one deck.
Trust me, it will come a day when you'll regret that so much. Keep commons and rares at least, and just disenchant the epics and legendaries that are complete garbage (I'd say keep also the ones currently garbage, but with some sort of potential... An example is Hadronox, bad at first, then it became very powerful with cube and the spell that summons a beast).
Anyway, even tho lately I played mainly wild, I will try again to play standard and see which decks rise... Then if the meta it's still boring / awful I'll move to wild once again. But for some reason I'm very optimist about HS's future.

masterquintus posted a message on Will you play more Wild after the rotation?Posted in: General DiscussionWild only here ... Standard is an awful cashgrab and it makes you lose the stuff that you have earned/bought
There is litteraly a deck in wild that it game plan is cheating out epic/legendary minions.
I think wild is more of a cash grab than standart will ever be

Fixed it. ;D

Yeah you're right about cubelock there. Still, the swings from N'zoth and Bloodreaver Gul'dan are game-wining in a lot of cases.
In any case, my statement that they defined the metagame was perhaps a bit strong haha!

Once the Year of the Dragon begins, three expansions that have dominated the Standard metagame of the past two years will finally become Wild exclusive. Cards from the sets Journey to Un'Goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne and Kobolds & Catacombs have also defined the Wild metagame, especially Death Knights, Spellstones and Legendary Weapons.
On top of that, Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater will join the Hall of Fame one year early. These two cards have consistently featured within the highest tier decks in Wild as well as Standard. With their rotation, the chasm between Wild and Standard deck strategies will widen.
With so many popular and powerful cards becoming Wild-only, I want to ask if you will go with them and play more Wild. This game mode has always been less popular with the player base, so I'm interested to know if the number of Wild players is likely to increase and why!
Cheers!

I think putting Frost Lich Jaina in the Classic Set would limit design space for new Mage cards to quite a severe degree. It would ruin other possible control Mage strategies, as people would just say "why not just use Frost Lich instead"?
The Lich King is obviously iconic in WoW lore, so I can see an argument for it's inclusion in the Classic Set. But again I think it would limit design space. Didn't Blizzard hall of fame Ragnaros the Firelord for the reason that it held players back from playing other 8-drops. It was just too strong a card at that mana point, that all other cards paled in comparison. I think TLK would have a similar effect.
In summary, no, these cards are too strong to have in an evergreen set.

I like seeing the cards beforehand to assess/theorycraft beforehand. But the past two expacs I feel like I've seen the cards too much even before release day. I agree with Kel, it ruins the surprise a bit.
Gonna set myself a challenge and avoid spoiler season! Goodbye YouTube/Twitch/internet in the lead up to April!

If you haven't already, you could check out Zalae's videos on the Omnislash youtube channel. He has interesting videos that go in-depth on how to play specific decks, but he's also got some videos on the fundamentals:

Try anything once eh? ;)
Maybe that's why they axed tournament mode. Maybe they tried to implement this format but f'ed up the code or couldn't be arsed or whatever. /s

I guess that's kind of my point. Lots of people are comparing the two and saying Blizz nicked the idea off Wotc. So I'd like to see someone crunch the numbers and point out what the real differences are.
I probably should have made that clearer to begin with!

One thing I'd be interested to see is how the statistics compare to sideboarding in MTG.
What's the significance of changing up to 5 cards in a 30-card deck, and how will that skew the strategies that competitors take?
As for how well thought out it was, I'll reserve judgment until I actually see the gameplay in action. In any case I think its good that they're trying new things, even if it's been very slow progress to get here!

Check out the list from high legend player Reno Jackson. He specifically talks about Blood-Queen Lana'thel over High Priestess Jeklik
