RoS: Reprint , lazy design and overcosted not original cards. Open 10 packs, get your legendary and skip the expansion. (Wild Big Priest Player)

     Fixed it. ;D

Neither death knights nor spellstones have defined the wild metagame. I'm not sure what you're basing this on.

I don't mean every Death Knight or Spellstone - but I think some cards have. Bloodreaver Gul'dan and Lesser Amethyst Spellstone are key cards in cubelock, with the death knight also featuring in pretty much all Renolock decks.

Are you also forgetting Lesser Diamond Spellstone in Big Priest?? Key part of their strategy right there. Also Shadowreaper Anduin was the lynchpin that made Reno Priest so popular and deadly (perhaps an oversimplification, but hopefully you get my point).

Fair point about the priest ones. Renolock was already popular before the death knights and spellstones though. Cubelock is mostly a deck because of cube (what's in a name) and the demon cheating mechanics.

Yeah you're right about cubelock there. Still, the swings from N'zoth and Bloodreaver Gul'dan are game-wining in a lot of cases.

In any case,  my statement that they defined the metagame was perhaps a bit strong haha!

posted a message on Will you play more Wild after the rotation?

Once the Year of the Dragon begins, three expansions that have dominated the Standard metagame of the past two years will finally become Wild exclusive. Cards from the sets Journey to Un'GoroKnights of the Frozen Throne and Kobolds & Catacombs have also defined the Wild metagame, especially Death Knights, Spellstones and Legendary Weapons.

On top of that, Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater will join the Hall of Fame one year early. These two cards have consistently featured within the highest tier decks in Wild as well as Standard. With their rotation, the chasm between Wild and Standard deck strategies will widen.

With so many popular and powerful cards becoming Wild-only, I want to ask if you will go with them and play more Wild. This game mode has always been less popular with the player base, so I'm interested to know if the number of Wild players is likely to increase and why!

    Cheers!

posted a message on Please, make a petition to make Lich King and Lich Jaina in the classic set.. PLEASE!

I think putting Frost Lich Jaina in the Classic Set would limit design space for new Mage cards to quite a severe degree. It would ruin other possible control Mage strategies, as people would just say "why not just use Frost Lich instead"?

The Lich King is obviously iconic in WoW lore, so I can see an argument for it's inclusion in the Classic Set. But again I think it would limit design space. Didn't Blizzard hall of fame Ragnaros the Firelord for the reason that it held players back from playing other 8-drops. It was just too strong a card at that mana point, that all other cards paled in comparison. I think TLK would have a similar effect.

In summary, no, these cards are too strong to have in an evergreen set.

I've never liked having the entire set "teased" and released over a few weeks prior to launch. I'd prefer the pack opening experience have the extra Wow Factor of learning the cards as you open.

I like seeing the cards beforehand to assess/theorycraft beforehand. But the past two expacs I feel like I've seen the cards too much even before release day. I agree with Kel, it ruins the surprise a bit.

Gonna set myself a challenge and avoid spoiler season! Goodbye YouTube/Twitch/internet in the lead up to April!

If you haven't already, you could check out Zalae's videos on the Omnislash youtube channel. He has interesting videos that go in-depth on how to play specific decks, but he's also got some videos on the fundamentals:

-Blizz's defenders: Come on guys, we haven't tasted it yet.

On serious note, i wonder why they did not implemented this in their old formats. It may have required a client update or UI change but the idea of sideboarding in hs is awesome.Yet they had to gut the tournaments to acheive it...go figure...

     Try anything once eh? ;)

Maybe that's why they axed tournament mode. Maybe they tried to implement this format but f'ed up the code or couldn't be arsed or whatever. /s

One thing I'd be interested to see is how the statistics compare to sideboarding in MTG.

What's the significance of changing up to 5 cards in a 30-card deck, and how will that skew the strategies that competitors take?

As for how well thought out it was, I'll reserve judgment until I actually see the gameplay in action. In any case I think its good that they're trying new things, even if it's been very slow progress to get here!

I don’t really think a comparison to MTG in terms of comparable size of sideboard to the deck makes a whole lot of sense.

The games themselves are not really all that comparable to begin with. Just the fact that magic allows 4 copies of each vs. Heathhstones 2, and the concept of HS legendaries makes any sideboard comparison kind of pointless.

I guess that's kind of my point. Lots of people are comparing the two and saying Blizz nicked the idea off Wotc. So I'd like to see someone crunch the numbers and point out what the real differences are.

I probably should have made that clearer to begin with!
