I think Devolve gives Even Shaman way too much game against other aggro decks. I wouldn't mind seeing the cost raised to 3 mana, so it's still reasonably efficient "aoe" but doesn't cripple decks playing against Genn.
I don't think they're really all that unpredictable.
In any case, I would hold off on crafting any soon-to-be-HOFed cards since you might open them in packs over the next few weeks. Unless you really want to play with them before rotation,
Big priest is easy to beat. You just have to play an aggro deck that doesn't rely too much on the board to win like kingsbane rogue, burn mage or pirate warrior.
ez right? oh wait, but what happens if i dont like playing aggro? oh well unistalls
Odd control warrior dunks on big priest
Also exodia mage.
This.
It does suck a bit that the big priest matchup makes people feel so bad that they have to consider targeting it directly. Regardless of how strong it may or may not be, it does seem to have an overly negative impact on the most vocal part of the player base.
Personally, matching up against big priest just makes me feel bad about trying new control/midrange/combo decks. I play a fair amount of aggro, too and I think I win against big priest more often than not. But even when I completely dominate the matchup I still feel really really bored by the whole experience. I can't imagine the opponent feels that great either.
i hate those smorc people. of course this is just an opinion but i really dislike big priest and feel like now you can be more creative in wild ladder again
To be fair, with big priest such a popular archetype, I think you need strong aggro decks to keep them in check. All part of a relatively healthy (lol) wild meta game.
I've been interested by how the Chinese wild meta has had such an influence on the NA/EU metas, what with Mecha'thun Warlock now being a strong popular archetype. Also the surge in Anyfin Pally from Standard players coming over in January. It just points to the fact that Wild desperately needs more support from Blizzard to boost it's popularity and keep the meta fresh and constantly evolving
I've never liked having the entire set "teased" and released over a few weeks prior to launch. I'd prefer the pack opening experience have the extra Wow Factor of learning the cards as you open.
I like seeing the cards beforehand to assess/theorycraft beforehand. But the past two expacs I feel like I've seen the cards too much even before release day. I agree with Kel, it ruins the surprise a bit.
Gonna set myself a challenge and avoid spoiler season! Goodbye YouTube/Twitch/internet in the lead up to April!
If you haven't already, you could check out Zalae's videos on the Omnislash youtube channel. He has interesting videos that go in-depth on how to play specific decks, but he's also got some videos on the fundamentals:
-Blizz's defenders: Come on guys, we haven't tasted it yet.
On serious note, i wonder why they did not implemented this in their old formats. It may have required a client update or UI change but the idea of sideboarding in hs is awesome.Yet they had to gut the tournaments to acheive it...go figure...
Try anything once eh? ;)
Maybe that's why they axed tournament mode. Maybe they tried to implement this format but f'ed up the code or couldn't be arsed or whatever. /s
One thing I'd be interested to see is how the statistics compare to sideboarding in MTG.
What's the significance of changing up to 5 cards in a 30-card deck, and how will that skew the strategies that competitors take?
As for how well thought out it was, I'll reserve judgment until I actually see the gameplay in action. In any case I think its good that they're trying new things, even if it's been very slow progress to get here!
I don’t really think a comparison to MTG in terms of comparable size of sideboard to the deck makes a whole lot of sense.
The games themselves are not really all that comparable to begin with. Just the fact that magic allows 4 copies of each vs. Heathhstones 2, and the concept of HS legendaries makes any sideboard comparison kind of pointless.
I guess that's kind of my point. Lots of people are comparing the two and saying Blizz nicked the idea off Wotc. So I'd like to see someone crunch the numbers and point out what the real differences are.
I probably should have made that clearer to begin with!

Yeah good point @shadowrisen, there should be a point in the first post that reflects this

Silver Sword ? That would be my recommendation

It kinda sounded to me that that was their intention...

Check out the list from high legend player Reno Jackson. He specifically talks about Blood-Queen Lana'thel over High Priestess Jeklik
