Yes it will. It will have copied "deathrattle: summon ???", because there was no original target minion to fill the question marks. No minion was specified, so no minion will be summoned.
Huh... there's a slim chance this might actually work (not criticising your deck building, just... it's spell only hunter, come on). Is there room for a snake trap? With such limited minion generation, the ability to generate three 1/1s might be good.
Of course it's a really non-competitive deck, but Dark Pact adds consistency and much needed, amazing sustain, considering that this is essentially a handlock deck in which you will therefore be tapping as much as possible.
It's like they discussed the rest of the expansion, and then they had a special committee to fine tune the least logical, lowest synergy, generally worst card they could in the hunter class.
I swear the more cards I see revealed the more genuinely I believe that I single-handedly could do a much more interesting, fun, varied, and balanced job of designing an expansion than the entire HS design team, who were employed apparently because they're the best at it. This is a cool card and not incredibly broken by itself, but look at the larger picture. Like lots of people have said already, priest have arguably got the highest proportion of the best cards so far, when they were on top of the meta last expansion and very good the expansion before that. Hunter has got the most consistently mediocre or awful cards so far, on average, and hunter has been the worst performing class for the last expansion or three. If you're going to put OP cards in to a class, SURELY it should be hunter? SURELY it makes an incredible amount more of sense to put some of the weaker cards in priest? And SURELY to do more like I say would make a great start at rebalancing the meta and thereby refreshing it and massively increasing Hearthstone's appeal and longevity, and to do the opposite is to massively increase the likelihood of imbalance, salt, monotonous and unvaried top-tier decks, etc.? You might argue that it's because they have some larger vision in mind which we obviously can't be aware of at the moment, but I would have a very hard time believing that shitting on hunter for about the third expansion in a row will somehow be beneficial to hunter in the long run.
More thematic definitely, but would be a totally different (and weaker) mechanic. Anything that deals damage to your hero (e.g. sinister strike) would still damage you. Anything which chooses targets randomly (e.g. any damage + noggenfogger, lol) could still damage you. This is supposed to be ice block for rogues (which is nuts by the way edit: even though yes this is probably weaker than ice block), not stealth.
What MikeBZ said. We have proof of this - if you've ever seen big priest drop y'shaarj, and the y'shaarj pulls lich king, the lich king doesn't generate a card on the turn on which it enters the battlefield.

Oh yeah, I didn't really notice snipe, I think swapping one or two out for snake trap would be good.

This is actually dope. I've had loads of fun with warlock running Devilsaur Egg, Ravenous Pterrordax, Void Terror, Humongous Razorleaf, Faceless Shambler, and then normal handlock stuff like Twilight Drake, Mountain Giant, and Sunfury Protector.

Absolutely this. This is also what I would most like to see them reveal, so all of my fingers are crossed.

Damn I had just started thinking of what cool synergies there would be and I think this is the best one.
