    Haven't touched HS since and will never again unless HS changes its price tag. Both as F2P or paying player, in LoR you get sooooo much more for your time/money. And the meta is still really diverse. There are like 5-6 deck archetypes that I can think of from the top of my head that are T1 and there isn't one that clearly dominates all the others (Draven/Jinx aggro, Spider aggro, Wraiths/Hecarim midrange, Frost midrange, Elusive cheese, Ezreal Control/OTK) and I think with Riots announced monthly micro-balancing, it will remain that way.

    Riot has also announced that they will continue to balance stuff to keep every champion is present in at least one competitive deck archetype and every region part of at least one T1 deck.

    I might be wrong here but I think the crazyness only started after quest rogue. Before, you had some miracle with auctioneer and malygos, or tempo with coldblood and leeroy, but those were never really T1 decks.

    I actually like a very narrow environment of decks. It allows one to build specialised decks to counter those. Also it increases the skill ceiling because you know what to expect from the enemy deck and can play around it. Both is not possible in a wide and random arrangement of decks.

    Also I hate the beginning of a new meta when top decks have not settled yet, when everybody and their grandma builds the greediest decks ever with soooo much lategame value that playing any kind of balanced slow deck becomes impossible. This is usually the only time I switch to face aggro decks until the lategame greed subsides.

    "Summon three overstatted minions with no immediate board impact" the fact that this is a 10 mana card makes it almost unplayable. Also you can't chain it with itself which makes it even worse.

    Meh. Basically A 5 mana 2/5 deal 3 damage. Only good if there would be a hero power centric mage deck. Or an elemental-heavy deck that needs a good-stated 3 mana elemental. But still meh.

    You mean like any other deck that has a defined game plan that you fail to counter because either your draws are shit, your deck is bad against or you simply need to become a better player?

     

    If every deck was about building a board and trading minions, this would be a very boring game.

    I love playing against Quest Priest with my Galakrond Shaman with 2x Plague of Murlocs. Messes up their Rez Pool so much. It's fun when they Mass Resurrect 3x Murlocs and ragequit.

    Not even a tier 1 deck anymore. But that would have happened without the nerfs as well since the meta was already shifting before the nerfs hit. Now we got the rock-paper-scissors of smorc decks, deathrattle rouges and anti-smorc heal decks.

    The problem is the mana-cheat mechanic of apothecary. Zephrys doesn't consider a 4 mana deathrattle minion worth silencing. It doesn't consider that it is essentially a 9-mana deathrattle. Against Anubisath itself today I could get it to offer me Hex by reducing my mana to 6 before playing Zephrys.

    Hm. Kinda sad. They didn't nerf the insane turn 7-9 4x 8/8 rush and 2x 5/2 weapon. So slow midrange and control decks will never be viable in this meta because of this.

    But! These changes make aggro decks more viable against gala shaman. weaker sludge slurper and mogu way harder to bring out. I actually think shaman players will rotate the mogu mutate combo out now.

    So I think the meta will definetely shift to more aggro stuff, because that seems to be a good answer against the new cancer highroll rouge as well.

    My2cents on the problem:

    1. Shaman has extremely strong invoke cards compared to the other classes. Either nerf those a little bit or buff others.

    2. Shudderwock fits the shaman theme. A lot of small battlecries over the course of the game, reapply them all in the end for nice refill or finisher. Shudderwock itself is fine. Galakrond provides shamanan with a huge game turning battlcry. Gain 5 health, gain 5/2 weapon, summon 2 8/8 rush. Really good, but not yet game-winning by itself. Combine those two however and you have the disaster we have now. Solution (imo): Make hero cards not have battlecry. They are not minions (except Jaraxxus), so I don't see why they would need a minion-type effect anyway.

    No, because now I can build a control deck to specifically counter those and don't have to worry about needing 2 full boardclears and sustain 20 dmg to the face rounds 7-9

    Never gonna happen. People spend hundreds of $€ every expansion to get all the important legendaries. 25 per month is laughable in comparison. People would just buy 1 month, try all the cool decks, then wait for the next expansion.

     

    Another good reason is that the design of lootboxes/packs builds on low-key gambling addiction. By removing that a lot of people would subconsciously feel less incentivised to play the game.

    Imo the tempo aspect of rogue is fine because it involves a lot of decision making. You could play your tempo cards every turn and it requires game knowledge to know WHEN to put down your powerspike. Definitely better than some "I play everything then topdeck"-aggro decks or the "I hope to draw Zilliax and Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and win"-sleep warrior.

    Other cards like Raiding Party or Waggle Pick could use some fine tuning, but not the 0 mana tempo cards.
