Just curious, I know we can obtain the preorder mercenaries for free as well, but does anyone know if they can be obtained for free in those specific "colors" (golden Sylvanas, Diamond Diablo/Lich King)? I assume the answer is no, similar to how the diamond cards from the tavern pass are uncraftable.
No, those cosmetics are money exclusive, but FortyDust mentioned in another thread that the bundles would supposedly come back around like the card backs.
According to the site specification for Mercenaries packs, all Mercenaries will have golden portraits that you can find, as well as diamond portraits only for legendary Mercenaries, so you should be able to get them since it's nowhere mentioned that you won't be able to
There has been so much hate on Mercenaries and its baffling to be that the major complaint is about the bundles or the "pay2win" aspect. Like, for real, you know that you can play hearthstone without spending a single dollar (or by buying those welcome bundle ecc... For very cheap), like, both 3 game modes are free, you don't have to buy the Mercenaries bundles ro play it, heck they are even gonna give you free units to start with. If your main argument is FOMO than you are just weak and you can't complain about feeding your own addiction; if your main complaint is "it's pay2win" firstly, you don't knoe that, the mode isn't out yet, secondly, sometimes win doesn't equal fun and sometimes you wanna have fun, heck I even encountered some people who said that Battlegrounds is pay2win since you get 2 more choices... That's just delusional, unless you're a streamer why would you care, it's a fun mode anyway. As for Mercenaries, they said that they are gonna try to balance the PvP (which is also not thr main mode) around you, which means that even if it's pay2win you'll likely not go against someone who's stronger than you because he payed more; as for the main PvE part, what's the point in spending money to just steamroll your way through, where is the fun in that? At thay point is just winning but it's gonna quickly become boring.
Tl:dr, you don't need to spend money on the game(s) and if you do you're the only one you can blame
Inevitability is good and necessary, especially in a game like Hearthstone where you only play best-of-one, there should always be at least 1 deck that almost certainly beats yours, if there was a deck with no bad match ups everybody would play it. Inevitably also gives diversity, some people might play more counters against their worst match-ups, some might just say eff it and don't run any. If you could have access to a sideboadd there would be (almost) no inevitability but for the balance of the game (yeah heah the game is bad shut up) it's necessary and you should be thankful for it, especially when you get your free win vs the deck you counter
After around 30 games I can say that it actually feels pretty good, although yes dead draws are very bad vs Questlock and whatsoever it's definitely smoother than the Fire/Elemental one. I see what you mean with Simulacrum being good against those secrets but I was lucky enough to not play against them.
The PvE part will probably also be quite challenging, so this is a great thing. Since upgrading mercenaries will likely take some time, even those who spend some money will not be able to bring a full legendary super broken combo to PvP on day 1 of release, so even in PvP, f2p players will probably not start with a huge disadvantage.
Well it seems that PvE is the "main" objective of the game mode. People are complaining a lot about it being Pay2Win but they legit said that the PvP is not the main part of the game AND that it's gonna be as "balanced" as possible when it comes to matchmaking, so yeah I'm hyped too!
Where is the heavy monetization in Battlegrounds? The pass just gives you two more heroes but it doesn't change anything and the rest is just cosmetics
I know how addicting games like raid shadow legends was for me and how much money i wasted on it and it's just really disappointing to see Hearthstone follow that same path.
You know the problem isn't the games but yourself? If you can't contain yourself from "wasting" money don't go blame it on the games.
They disrupt combos and all decks that have some sort of mana cheat in them, but most importantly the heavy draw decks like Demon Hunter, Rogue and Warlock. They kinda mess up the tempo of some aggressive decks too
Ok so, from my understanding, bitht Brawl and Soul Mirror are actually "targeted" as in they need to target minions although not directly trough you, the latter is easier to understand, if there are no enemy minions Soul Mirror can't target any minion and therefore can't be casted; Brawl on the other hand I think is written weirdly and it required to have at least more than one minion to target, and then chose one to be the winner, so if there's only one it can't target multiple minions to chose from.
Dark Bargain will work with only 1 minion because it doesn't target any minions to destroy but just need at least one.
Think about this: Spells have an effect and requirements for those effects, mainly if the spells targets something or not, even then some spells don't explicitly say you need to target something they may need to target themselves, that's why Frost Nova can be casted with no board, it affects all enemy minions, but all can be zero, meanwhile Flurry needs at least one minion to work. Sorry if it's convoluted but they sure as hell didn't explain it correctly
I'm curious to try it and comoare it to the Fire Elemental OTK and see which one is the easier to pull off. I'll use Molten Reflection instead of Simulacrum (mainly because I don't want to craft it)
I think you're wrong not because the meta isn't fun, but because fun isn't objective. I'm having a lot of fun and it's with this expansion that I came back from a pause (I skipped Darkmoon Fair and Barrens) and I am having fun, but there are also people who aren't.
I think you and many others who aren't having fun should learn that playing a game you're not enjoying is not the best idea, I've been taking pauses on and off (I think around 2/3 times) because the meta or the cards in general weren't fun for me, and it's ok to not play something you don't find fun, you'll come back eventually. And no it's not a problem of the game that you don't like it anymore, it's your preference
Remember when Apple had to make a "fake" shuffle option on the Ipod because people kept complaining that "it wast truly random" because sometimes the random shuffle would play the same song twice or in the exact order of the album. Then they decided to put an updated version that made it so it couldn't play the same song or in the same order, just because people can't fathom that sometimes, rng is just that, random

Thank you! I was thinking if I should craft some cards or if the rotation was too close
