posted a message on The problem with the game has and is mana cheat and draw

You have some good points, the mana cheat is very prevalent at the moment and it's extremely annoying but you've categorized a bit too many things together.

Cheal draw: I wouldn't consider cheap draw to be mana cheat (except Refreshing Springwater but that's different) and the fact that 8/10 classes have access to cheap draw it kinda just makes it "draw" since it's evenly spread.

Using a downside as an upside: that isn't really mana cheat, it's more of a design problem/flaw, and at the moment the most glaring problem is with Warlock and cards like Backfire being too good with the Quest but it's not really mana cheat since you're just using the drawback positively

Handbuff: you shouldn't really consider this s mana chest since yeah you may be casting an 8/8 for 2 mana, but you spent some mana to make that minion and 8/8 to begin with, it kinda circles back around.

That said I do agree that the mana cheat is a little but too present in the meta and should probably be addressed

I have a feeling that this post might just age like milk once the mode releases.

I'm just gonna play the game when it comes out (and hopefully have fun), honestly this is aging like fine vinegar, I didn't expect so much heat it's funny

Isn't Mercenaries being in the Hearthstone client conceptually equal to Hearthstone being in the Battle.net client? Why is it a problem?

You're getting 4 legendaries from the expansions and 2 free from the pass, you're more likely gonna find one that is "viable" (that depends on your taste) and then you can think of keeping all, or dust to get a solid deck out. Most people will say to not dust, and I agree, but I also don't like half-assed or "budget" decks (the ones who are very underperforming) so that's on you

Neat deck, and also a cool way of trying to utilize Sheldras, my only feedback just by looking at the deck is 2x Survival of the Fittest because, if you play Polket on curve you're gonna end up with those two expensive spell in your hand, and if you play it later you're gonna have to wait untill you draw 3 to get Sheldras. Although that's not counting having Sphear of Sapience or drawing them before. I'll definitely try it out

If you took the time to read his posts you would notice that it's a light joke on how he says facts a lot, reminding me of Ben Shapiro. Regardless of their and mine political views but just based on their behaviors, you know, a joke, not propaganda

Buy 10 of every standard card pack you will be guaranteed a legendary in he first 10 packs of any expansion

To be sure you don't "waste" your gold, only buy one at a time, as Ethan said there's a guaranteed legendary in the first 10, but you don't have to buy 10. So start buying one of each expansion untill you find the legendary, then you stop buying for that expansion. Then you can either buy the newest one or Forged in the Barrens, both have very good cards

So what's  the identity of the warlock right now?

    Being broken

Jokes aside, yeah it's a common theme for Warlock more than other classes (imo) that when they try to "push" an archetype they end up giving too much power to the class, and I think the problem lies in how usually they make cards that are very strong but with a drawback, and then other cards that perfectly take the drawback and makes it into a benefit, say Backfire (I still have nightmares of 1 mana gain 8 health and summon a Doomguard from your deck)

I think that they are gonna try to change yet again the identity of Warlock in the next expansion and we're gonna go back to a very bland or underpowered version when the Quest will rotate out

This whole thread is nuts, everyone is operating on so little information that it's impossible to draw factual conclusions.

I'm curious about what "little" information we have because between the stream, blue post and the battle.net description of what the Mercnaries packs are going to be (*may be subject to changes) we know a whole lot about the game. I wonder if people didn't care enough to inform themselves or if there's something thay they didn't say or show that you're curious about

Didn't I say I was a lunatic ? It's more like I left the discussion, there are still interesting posts that I wish to answer whenever I feel like it.

And I said probably Hearthstone, and obviously not at this very moment. Stay constructive please, I'm trying and I'm the lesser person.

Yeah I don't have to buy it, but they didn't have to sell it either.

If Blizzard wasn't going to sell it, why on earth would it develop the mode? Companies aren't charities: they create new products to earn a return on their investment.

Tavern brawl, arena and most PVE content don't sell anything, how do you explain that ? They created free products and yet they still earn a return on their investment, crazy right ? Go figure that out before posting again about business and charities.

By selling mercenaries pre orders at full expansion price instead of making it a free PVE content with nothing to buy as they usually do, they are losing a ton of players, as you can tell by the outrage on these threads. If it was totally free, it would attract more players, who would then take a look at hearthstone packs and preorders and skins, etc.

They already sell expansion sets twice every 3 month, tons of skins, battlegrounds perks.  Expansion sets are their main source of money, by far. They will make less money by selling mercenaries, cause the hearthstone whales are all quiting, cause hearthstone went from a game to a game platform.

The worst thing is you really thought you were smart telling me this BS about charities. I buy every hearthstone expansion by the way, I'm not some entitled F2P boy.

Edit : no need to reply, every argument has been made already in multiple threads, you won't change my mind and I won't change yours. But you are making hearthstone (the game, not the platform inside b.net platform) worse if you buy mercenaries pre orders, that's fact.

Anyone who spends money on battlegrounds / mercenaries is killing hearthstone.

You make some interesting points but: Tavern Brawls don't require much work as a full fledged expansion or new game, after all they use the the same  assets as the base game; same could be said for Arena (although arena is indeed monetized even if not pay2win ofc) most of the new PvE modes are free but the old ones weren't, and the reception of what's funnier changed with that.

Saying they could have made Mercenaries free like other PvE stuff is a bit wild if you consider that  is a totally new and different game mode for which they have to use new assets, art, coding basically everything. Also, it's not a new mode because it's completely disconnected from the base game if not for the gold aspect. So yeah saying they don't do charity might be bullshit but they are producing a totally free to play new game that you don't have to pay for, I don't know what you mean by "by making bundles instead of making it free to play" because they are making it free to play, but also giving the option to spend money if you want to, they aren't ruining anything by doing that, it's people like you that see a bundle and automatically assume you have to buy it.

Saying that you buy all expansions doesn't make you and entitled f2p but definitely and entitled whale

We need to reply because if you're entitlement made you do so we also have the right to express our opinion, if yours won't change maybe you should reconsider joining a conversation

We don't. But Mercs is clearly diverting resources away from other formats we've already paid for which is a pity. That said, I'm interested to see what it's like!

Do we know if it's a new team or if it's people from the Hearthstone one?

    Mercenary Portraits Drop Rates

All Mercenaries have 3 Golden Mercenary Portraits. All Legendary Mercenaries also have a Diamond Mercenary Portrait.

Whenever you obtain a Mercenary Portrait from a pack, the Portrait you receive will be based on the following baseline percentages:

For Legendary Mercenaries: 30% chance to get each of the 3 Golden Portraits and 10% chance to get the Diamond Portrait

For Rare and Epic Mercenaries: 33.3% chance to get each of the 3 Golden Portraits

When you obtain a Mercenary Portrait, the drop rate for the remaining Mercenary Portraits is dynamically recalculated, with new proportions based on your individual collection of Portraits for that Mercenary.

You will not obtain the same Mercenary Portrait until you own all the Mercenary Portraits for that Mercenary. Once you own all the Portraits for a Mercenary, you can obtain a second copy of a Mercenary Portrait, which will automatically be converted into Coins of that Mercenary: 50 coins for Rare, 75 coins for Epic, and 100 coins for Legendary Mercenaries.

Occasionally, you may obtain a Mercenary Portrait prior to obtaining its Mercenary Card. When that happens, you will be able to play that Mercenary with the Mercenary Portrait, and you could get the Mercenary Card from packs.

It's not hard to do research, it's usless to "assume" things

Just curious, I know we can obtain the preorder mercenaries for free as well, but does anyone know if they can be obtained for free in those specific "colors" (golden Sylvanas, Diamond Diablo/Lich King)? I assume the answer is no, similar to how the diamond cards from the tavern pass are uncraftable.

No, those cosmetics are money exclusive, but FortyDust mentioned in another thread that the bundles would supposedly come back around like the card backs.

According to the site specification for Mercenaries packs, all Mercenaries will have golden portraits that you can find, as well as diamond portraits only for legendary Mercenaries, so you should be able to get them since it's nowhere mentioned that you won't be able to
