gozerh posted a message on Oh boy, am I overjoyed with blizzard...Posted in: General Discussionhere is my experience with hearthstone. i used to play magic the gathering, but migrated over to hearthstone because MTG was costing in around $300-$400/month to really play competitively. i was told hearthstone had good free to play mechanics. then adventures came out. so i bought the adventures. i was told that card packs were basically not something i would have to worry about becasue they were free , 1 a day and i could make competitive decks quite easily. only problem being, at an average of 40 dust per day (disenchanting any useless cards not needed for said decks) this became a lie as by the time i saved up the 12k dust needed to build said deck it was an irrelevant deck that was no longer competitive. in an effort to keep up competively i found myself disenchanting every single adventure card that was not relevant just to make a competitive deck . only to find oiut , that hey these cards that weren't competitive are now competitive and also needed to beat the adventures on heroic. now i was stuck. i had one competitive deck, that guess what was no longer competitive and 0 other cards in my colleciton. so i started spending 200-300$/month on hearthstone. by disenchanting all my cards not needed i was able to make a few decks. except that i wanted to go back and beat the heroic adventures. so i really only was able to beat a couple adventures a month and make 1 competitive deck per month. AAND THAT"S SPENDING 200-300$ CAD a month on this game. then by the end of the month, my deck that i made was invalid and no longer competitive so i found myself disenchanting all the cards I PAID FOR just to make cards for a competitive deck. i basically keep going through this, every single month. just when i think i am building a decent collection i find out all the cards i have are useless and i need these cards, but i never get those cards despite spending $200-$300/month on this dumb game. all that happens is that money get's wasted to make a deck that come end of the month is useless. so i essentially find myself doing the same thing i did with magic. spending basically 25% of my monthly income on a stupid virtual card game and not reaping any rewards, because i don't ever get past rank 5, i am not good in the arena and i end up disenchanting every golden card i get and having 0 worthwhile cards in my collection come the beginning of the season.
to me this isn't worth it anymore. i quit playing wow for virtualy this same reason.
blizzard caters towards people who spend money on their game. they lie and say it is f2p. it is not f2p. it is only f2p if all you want to do is sit in tavern brawl or in casual trolling people. there is no way to really get ahead in this game without spending basically every penny i have to my name on it, and the rewards really just aren't worth it. what 3 golden heros, 2 completed heroic modes
then the dungeon run came. the level of frustration that has caused me is ridiculuos. 400 attempts on warrior, actually almost 500. losing every time to stupid king toggwaggle. until one day i spend 400$ in a week on the game and magically that same day win.
I am done. this is not the f2p game i was promised, in fact it is eating away at my life financialy and also socially as it takes about 8 -15 hours a day out of my life just to grind rank and level cap.
No thanks.
You've got some serious issues there bro. Let alone all the stuff you seem to do wrong in Hearthstone, like disenchanting everything for 1 deck and repeat this again and again, which sends your money down the drain. But playing 8-15h a day while spending 25% of your income on this game. I suggest you seek professional help. This sounds like some serious addicted tendencies. -

iandakar posted a message on Etheral VS HearthstonePosted in: Other GamesI'll be a little blunt.. why are you asking a hearthstone thread about Eternal. That's like asking an Enternal thread about how to draft a hearthstone arena deck.
It's less about it being rude or not and more about how you'd probably get better information from the folks who are active in the game, even if some people play both.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EternalCardGame/
There you go. You could probably reference hearthstone as well as a good many who play eternal probably came from hearthstone.

ergosc2 posted a message on New Card Reveal: Silver VanguardPosted in: NewsYou probably want at least three 8-drops in your deck to reliably recruit one with this minion, which is a tall order in and of itself. We haven't seen the entire set yet, but the payoff seems kinda mediocre compared to the investment. This is Trolden material and salt inducer for shamans. In my cautious opinion, Bonemare stands undefeated in the 7-mana slot.

NeoSeraphi posted a message on New Card Reveal: Spiteful SummonerPosted in: NewsA Control Hunter deck could potentially use this as a win condition. Call of the Wild is 9 mana, if you have one of those left in your deck you have a fairly decent chance of summoning Malygos or King Krush, there aren't that many 9 drops in the game. Even if you miss, you could potentially hit Giant Mastodon, Soggoth the Slitherer, Ysera, or Obsidian Statue. All fantastic defensive tools that would put you ahead.
